Nice comparison Ashleigh! I have both and love them. I think what people need to remember is these are not wallets. They are meant to carry a few cards, keys and cash for a grab and go and errands. If I need to take additional cards or more cash and coins, I use a wallet or another card case. I don’t like overstuffing my items as they then get out of shape and IMO that is part of what causes the faster wear and tear.
The recto verso is really growing on me. Love how functional it is and it carries the 3 C’s and of course you can attach your keys so it checks all the boxes. I also love the size. If it was in stock I would pick it up for sure 😊 tfs!!
Unpopular opinion but I love my recto verso. It’s gorgeous. I like the various compartments. Easy to find my things quickly. Def worth the money for me.
I have the empriente key pouch and just saw the empreinte recto verso yesterday. While very cute, I carry a lot of cards and prefer the key pouch. The recto price points are quite high for both canvas and leather!

Had second thoughts once I got it because I love it and thought maybe I would love the recto verso more. I have been using my Recto Verso for the past few weeks and have noticed the same glazing issues you have on yours and you are so right about it not being able to fit as much as it looks like it would. Now I feel extremely underwhelmed whenever I’m using it. So beautiful but def not as practical as I thought it would be. Great review! Now I wish I would’ve purchased the Empriente key pouch instead.

I've been thinking about getting the Empreinte. The Recto Verso, I don't like having my cards exposed. The Empreinte seems perfect for work--some pocket money in a handy place, keys, and a place to put my work ID. Also, it looks good for travel, an easy pouch to have a little bit of money handy without having to pull out my big wallet.
I have had the empreinte one for one month. I don’t like the tender soft faux leather lining inside the back zip. Wish it could be linen, suede, or real leather inner like the front pocket. My concern is that it will crack (especially cold winter time) or get scratched by the cards’ sharp corners going in and out.

Have you tried using a phone app (I love the app Stocard) to store all of your rewards cards? I used to carry a million cards and now all I need is 6! All the rest are in the phone app! You just show the cashier the card on your phone app and that’s it! The Recto isn’t really made to be a full size wallet, and using so many cards will put a lot of stress on it- and you’ll see wear much sooner. If you use an app for your store cards- you’ll eliminate the issue! Let me know how it works out. Lots of options out there- but Stocard is my favorite! I’ve been using it for years! Thanks for the video! I personally love both key pouches- but really like the organization of the recto- especially the exterior pocket! Perfect for a transit card! I adore the empriente too though- don’t get me wrong! :)

Now I can easily sport little Coach Tabby 26 bags and am able to carry more because I can easily pop in a cles with 6 cards and cash! The Recto is great if you downsize your card game. :) Check out Stocard or any one of the available apps! Been using it for years and you literally just open the app, pick the card you need in the app (example, your Walgreens card ) - hold up your phone - and the cashier just scans it without having to touch your phone or anything. Your card is scanned - you close your app and throw your phone back in your purse - boom - that's it! Also, the app shows you coupons at that store in advance, you can store shopping lists there - etc. It's everything!

That’s when corporate decides what is popular and they pull it from being orderable. I want one so bad. Don’t know why they do that. It’s ridiculous. I’m sure it will eventually come back.
Thanks for the comparison and great review, seems like the recto-verso works better for me, it’s more compartmentalized which I like, it will be an everyday use, and I don’t expect it to last long. I won’t be using the credit card slots. Since I only have 6 cards including my license, work ID, and medical card I can separate those into different compartments whereas the key pouch, it’s very unorganized.
It's unbelievable that you can spend $500 for a small wallet/keychain and their hardware/ button would tarnish :(. Sadly, I'm still going to purchase the Empreinte when I get my back-in-stock alert.

Amber, my Victorine wallet did the same thing with the glazing and I barely used it! Louis Vuitton repaired it, but I am super disappointed in the quality in some of these pieces.
Thanks for the review. I initially went in store to buy the Recto Verso but ended up coming home with the new Juliette wallet - its a great little wallet that holds everything (coins, cash, cards)
@@annettetietgen4533 Good idea to see them in person because even though the Juliette is very practical, I don't feel the quality is that great. The canvas is quite thin, unlike the Victorine which (to me) feels better quality.

Amber Ashleigh do you know if they discontinued the key pouch you featured? I looked on their website but could only find the recto verso & key pouches but not like the one you have.
I have the recto verso in the empreinte leather and you are right about it not holding as much as we would think, but hopefully it will eventually stretch a bit more.
I haven’t seen in person the empreinte Recto Verso but is expensive over 700 hundred. I imagined that can fits a lot, I will choose the empreinte key pouch again and again. It is so spacious
I wonder if you would feel the same if both items were leather? Seems like I hear way too often of the canvas monogram having issues these days and that the leather is the way to go. It more subtle and flexible, it is less likely to have glazing issues and less stiff.
The Recto Verso is a bit fussy imo, i don’t think the wear and tear will be that great either. The slip card pockets will stretch out and it will be prone to glazing issues where the envelope flap bends over. It is inevitable. I think the Key Pouch is more classic looking and will last way longer. I have the Empriente key pouch and am very happy with it. The price is too high for a canvas slg.

Great comparison video! 😁 I agree 100% I have the exact same items and prior to using the recto verso which I’m currently using now, I was using the card holder everyday for months. Love both items but the recto verso is stiff as you stuff more stuff and the price is kinda steep.
Gosh, after spending that much money for a wallet, I'd literally have no money left to put inside, lol. I love the compact styles of the wallets, so that's what got me to watch. For the price, I'd love to have one with RFID blocking and an ID holder.

Can you do a video on an alternative with the emilie wallet and key pouch. I don’t have a channel but would love to share this idea. I put my key pouch on the inside of my emilie wallet on the inside of the pouch on the back of the wallet and let the key chain part hang outside the wallet. It works perfectly. It’s like a large version of a recto verso style. I saved myself 590 dollars and it fits way more doing this. Try it out and tell me your thoughts. A video would be awesome. Thanks

It is a hard decision I love the verso but is totally true comparation verso loose his shape and is hard to take cards out when zipper is full.

Amber Ashleigh do you know if they discontinued the key pouch you featured? I looked on their website but could only find the recto verso & key pouches but not like the one you have.
I have the recto verso in the empreinte leather and you are right about it not holding as much as we would think, but hopefully it will eventually stretch a bit more.

I haven’t seen in person the empreinte Recto Verso but is expensive over 700 hundred. I imagined that can fits a lot, I will choose the empreinte key pouch again and again. It is so spacious
I wonder if you would feel the same if both items were leather? Seems like I hear way too often of the canvas monogram having issues these days and that the leather is the way to go. It more subtle and flexible, it is less likely to have glazing issues and less stiff.

The Recto Verso is a bit fussy imo, i don’t think the wear and tear will be that great either. The slip card pockets will stretch out and it will be prone to glazing issues where the envelope flap bends over. It is inevitable. I think the Key Pouch is more classic looking and will last way longer. I have the Empriente key pouch and am very happy with it. The price is too high for a canvas slg.

Great comparison video! 😁 I agree 100% I have the exact same items and prior to using the recto verso which I’m currently using now, I was using the card holder everyday for months. Love both items but the recto verso is stiff as you stuff more stuff and the price is kinda steep.

Gosh, after spending that much money for a wallet, I'd literally have no money left to put inside, lol. I love the compact styles of the wallets, so that's what got me to watch. For the price, I'd love to have one with RFID blocking and an ID holder.

i have been using this a lot lately and the glazing issues have stayed the same. It has stretched out a bit as well.

But I don’t use a ton of cards, and prefer to be organized! I currently use the toiletry pouch 15 😆 But I’d love more organization!
@@sherrismith2055 if you watch Amelia Rose’s closet she has a review about the RV she now loves it but in the beginning she did not. She compares it with the Victorine wallet. Yes it is pricey the RV! You are right not overstuffing it is a good option to prevent so much wear and tear.

Have you thought about getting the Recto Verso in the empriente? I think I might go for that one...
I dont think they sell that key pouch anymore with the open envelope part. couldnt see it on LV website
Can you do a video on an alternative with the emilie wallet and key pouch. I don’t have a channel but would love to share this idea. I put my key pouch on the inside of my emilie wallet on the inside of the pouch on the back of the wallet and let the key chain part hang outside the wallet. It works perfectly. It’s like a large version of a recto verso style. I saved myself 590 dollars and it fits way more doing this. Try it out and tell me your thoughts. A video would be awesome. Thanks
