Great video! I live in mine. So, I use a narrow twin, steel frame 30×72×14. It has bamboo slats for mattress support. Great design. Fits perfectly without being off balance. I was super excited to be able to use my 3rd room seat! But, it's a drag having to enter from the passenger side. I didn't/couldn't lose the seat! And I love my bed! So, I moved the bed to the passenger side. I found a gaming chair that fits perfectly on the driver's side. It looks almost like the original small seat. I also use black bedding so not to call attention to my home. My seats are also black. My travel bags are black. Paint it Black! 😂. When I go to a campground, the colors come out. And so does the lightshow. When in town, I look just like everybody else. ❤️✌️ ~ 🦋
I just picked these exact options for my next conversion. Was wondering why no one else had though of it and spent so much time building wood platforms, so much easier this way I think. Thanks for the confirmation that I had the right idea :)
This is so much easier, I did add a support to the back leg recently to make it more stable. It worked fine like this, but would sometimes fall off of the seat.
My cot works fine; I just put a memory foam mattress on top and the weight keeps it stable. I love the seat on the side as it makes it comfortable watching TV on my tablet. There’s also plenty of space underneath for backpacks and shoes. On top of that I have space in the back and I keep a cabinet right next to the bed for clothes. Then again, I live in my van, so making room and using it to its full potential is a must 😁
It could, it’s almost a perfect fit. I don’t usually have an issue with it falling, but put a small piece of cardboard on the driver’s side just in case.
I have changed my set up a couple times on the bed, I use a narrow twin with the metal frame. The most important is a great nights sleep . I use sheets and electric blanket the best!!!!
I am impressed that you demonstrate those bed setting ideas out there although it was raining. It makes watchers more appreciate to your presentation. What a passion you have for your channel! Two thumbs up! :)
I have the same van, and I use the Coleman Cot you described when I camp. I replaced the little foam topper with a 4" folding mattress and a memory foam topper. I use a couple of bungie cords to keep it from sliding around. I enjoyed your comparison of these options. Will be checking out some more of your videos.
Thanks for this. I thought about getting just a mattress for the Coleman, and it would help if for some reason you need to make two beds out of it. Enjoy your travels!
I like that thick mattress. I have a 2013 awd limited. It's probably the best vehicle I've ever purchased. I have a jackery 1000 to power my iceco dual zone fridge and computer. It's such a great stealth camper. I might buy a hitch mounted spare tire carrier and run traditional tires.
I use a cot myself and it's great that I can put tote storage bins under the cot. Also room at one end for a fridge, cooler, or porta potty toilet. I found that I can put the foam mattress down on the floor if I don't have the rear chair up like you do. It's plenty comfortable for sleep and stealthier. This also allows me to put stuff like a camp chair, table, tent, stove, etc. on top of the cot and I can use stretch cords to secure them to the sides of the cot which is now acting as a shelf instead. At the rear door I put my cooler and food tote. I keep a 12 pack cooler on the floor of the passenger seat in the front and another tote bin or suitcase with my clothes/towels, etc. Tip: use shower caps to store your shoes in when you get in the van to keep any dirt or moisture from soiling your stuff in the van. I drive a 2019 Pacifica so the seats store in the floor which is handy. I use a lot of solar items like flashlight, led lights, fan, etc. that have small solar panels or just charge in USB ports while I am driving. It's affordable to get a small solar panel to charge up devices when off grid or one can always get a portable generator for electricity if desired.
Nice! I have the same bed setup! A very nice person offered to help me with it and cut off 4-5 inches of the legs which makes getting in and out of the bed so much Easier! And that mattress is awesome! Thanks for sharing.
That is very interesting. Glad to hear the bed is working for you. Occasionally, I’ll hit my hands on the roof when I roll over. But, I do use the extra storage space.
I'm going with a similar setup. Slightly different bed frame which I bungied to the frame hooks for the row 2 seats. I put puzzle foam around the trolleys and a thin rug on top. Not flat but the lumps help keep things in place just like you said. Good travels to you.
Got this bed, and love it! So do the dogs. Fits perfectly in my 2019 Dodge Caravan and allows me to have Alpicool fridge and galley area behind by the lift gate. Only wish it had easier access all the way under the cot, but the 40 split seat block storage from that end. Easy fix was just to remove a few slats and take in out what I needed to. Thanks for the great video!!!

@@Grindstaff09 I can’t show a photo…take the shelves, lay them all long side to long side along a space so the shelves look like a bed all laying side by side to each other (there will be two holes per corner, one hole from each shelf). I like the Steel frame but I am concerned about it being so close to that compartment opening. I love that mattress. I have that added to my list. That could be set up on a tarp outside easily for a comfy seat. Hope your travels are Blessed 🌹🇺🇸❤👵🏽
I noticed that, too. I would wonder about the feasibility of putting a 90-degree angle bracket held on by a hose clamp to allow for slip of the leg from robust sleepers like me.

Wow this is so awesome! I have a 2003 Honda Odyssey that I will probably be using for full-time van life. Unfortunately my backseat does not have the 60/40 split! When I lived in it before I had all of my seats the back one folded into the floor and the two passenger seats taken out and even with a cot it took up too much room. I plan on using the same tri-fold mattress you have. I need very little space for storage I don't cook in my van and folding up that mattress without a frame will give me much more room to move around! Now I have to check out the rest of your videos!
Hi Debra, thanks for stopping in and sharing. It sounds like you have an excellent plan. I do cook in the van sometimes, but I am very careful because it is such a tight space. I do think a comfortable sleeping arrangement is the most important thing and if you don’t have chairs, you can always lounge in the bed. Good luck.
I love this set up! A comfortable bed and chair to sit in are must haves. Thanks for this video! I got my 2015 T&C 2 weeks ago. I just put together the frame and put it in the van. It fits beautifully … except that the one leg does not stay on the flat area and instead slips into the storage area behind the seat and I don’t know why. Does anyone have any ideas for a solution? Thanks!
Hi, this is not glamorous, but take a piece of cardboard and fold it a few times and wedge it in that side. This is what I do and you can see it in some of my other videos.

Where the legs would normally go, run Velcro stripes through one hole and into the next hole for a loop; I bought 30’ of Velcro which was too much but I thought I could use it for other stuff…each hole took about 12” put the Velcro through the holes binding each shelf piece together… leave the Velcro loose so you can fold the shelf pieces up like a fan. ..the kind of fan you can make using paper you fold one edge one way then the next edge the other way..etc.
@@MaryOKC got it. So its folded up when not in use like a a paper fan is made but not shaped like a fan.
Broooo that’s exactly how I roll in my gen 3 . 🤘🏽
Right on!
Right on!
Oh yeah. This inspires me a lot! So simple
Thank you, good luck!
Good tips. I'm definitely ordering the frame and mattress. LIKED and Subscribed.
Thank you so much. Let me know how it works out.
@@AdventureGearTV I will let you know. Have a great day!
thats a good set up….. easily changed for other uses
Perfect for my non-build build!
It’s a painless setup.
I found that my rear seat made you tip to the middle. So put it back down. My folding lawn chair fit nicely and is comfortable
Use a cot like your first one
I just fixed the back legs to make them more stable. The cot is fine, but I didn't like how much it moved around.
Thank you for the bed ideas I have been looking for something like you have.
Glad to hear it.
I have one the Coleman camper cot is a perfect fit I have totes that fit underneath
They are great! Thanks for stopping by.
Well done. Thanks for sharing. Makes the Sienna look like a good stealth camper.
Thank you!
Thank you so much for your very very nice videos absolutely I love and dreaming for it thank you so much and GOD blessed you where ever you are a Huge thanks from Glendale California
I'm a huge Toyota fan for yrs. I just bought a 2013 sienna LX. This the only thing I hated, the 2nd row doesn't folded down like the dodge caravan, but have to take it out! Ya, the dodge caravan is level 100%. That's only dislike the sienna not so simple to make a camper van out of it.
I am glad that this second row comes out. But in the DGC, some folks pull out the middle row and use the space for storage.
Install 2x4s or 6s feet under the Coleman Cot legs with small pluming pipe clams .. Easy fix .. He bought this other setup that he didn't need to .. The Coleman Cot legs supports are way better than the other setup .. Notice a support leg of other setup on the edge of back compartment opening ... 😮
Thanks for showing your set up. I’m trying out camping in my Sienna and This setup will work nicely. The only thing I was wondering is what do you do about a spare tire?
My spare tire is under the van. Now that you ask, I should check to make sure it has air in it after 9 years with the minivan.
Thanks that's what i am doing with my glam van an my camping trips Peggy johnson COLOGNE mn
Quick and easy. Enjoy your travels!
Wow...thanks so much! Already subscribed. 😊
Right on! Thanks for sharing.
Great video great ideas. I'm a private security guard and I like to work 16 hours A-day and sleep in my Van if possible.
Something like this is easy, and not permanent.
Thank you for the video. New subscriber. Blessings to you.
Thank you.
Got that same frame and six inch memory foam mattress
It’s wild how many people have the same setup.
Thanks for sharing trying to plan my setup too
I've had a lot of questions about where to find the bed frame, so here are the links: Steel Folding Bed Frame amzn.to/3onSxMc

Thanks!
Apparently the cot is now out of stock and they don't know if there will be more.
@@livableincome oh no. Maybe it has been discontinued. If you find something similar, I prefer this style. It doesn’t have pole ends that stick out from the corners.
This video was exactly what I was looking for as I just got a Sienna and didn't want to go through the trouble and tech of a wood build out. I was considering a cot but for the reasons you mention was skeptical. The frame seems perfect. I am going to try it with the ExPed and see how the comfort goes, I'll let everyone know.
Great practice video thanks for sharing. Looking for one to fit 48” wide for dodge caravan
It was fun to make. I recently tried a full size mattress, and it squeezed in no problem.
Live my sienna
They are so versatile!
Just what i needed
Glad it helped!
Such a brilliant idea for a small space !!! I’ll enjoyed watching it and love the setting !! Stayed bless🥰👍💜thank yoo fir sharing your genuine idea 💡🥰🎶💤😴
Thank you so much!
Good luck.
Brah, that’s bad ass. That’s perfect for me. I’m def buying that steel frame and mattress. Hopefully ship to Hawaii.
Good luck. I hope it works out for you.
This was impressing. Thank you 😊
Thank you!
Thanks I was looking for this look the bed and a set.
@@AdventureGearTV Thanks! Sorry for the confusion, but I was referring to the other leg.
@@lisamacdonald1561 I have thought about this issue before, and I think you can get something like a piece of wood long enough to reach both feet that will hold it up. This is a really basic description,www.homedepot.com/p/Weaber-1-2-in-x-2-in-x-4-ft-S4S-Poplar-Board-27406/207058985. Home Depot will cut it to length for you maybe 32-34 inches will cover the distance.
@@AdventureGearTV Thanks again! That’s exactly what I was considering!
@@lisamacdonald1561 Slip the leg thru a pvc pipe cut to length you need.
Good one, looking for this. Thanks for sharing!
Wish I had this van too. Nice job. I could ever fit Bella my Lg German Shepard 🦋
Thank you!
