Cradle Mountain Day 1- Travel. Cradle Highlanders. Wombats. Pencil Pine Falls.

My husband and I visited Tasmania for the first time from July 7-11th 2024. We flew from Melbourne into Launceston. We then drove to Deloraine for groceries and continued toward Cradle Mountain. Driving through Sheffield- town of murals, we made our way through beautiful landscapes and along windy steep roads. Arriving at Cradle Mountain Highlanders cottages, we were so blessed with the accommodation and how simply stunning everything was. After unpacking we took a short walk to the Cradle Mountain visitor centre before our first short walk to Pencil Pine Falls. Within minutes of starting this walk we were greeted by two gorgeous wombats. It was an incredible first glimpse of this stunning area!
