This is actually a historic way of speaking about things and how even the Bible itself speaks of it: If Jesus was not the messiah and not God, the Jews and Romans could very well have put an end to his preaching right their, but it was only an apparent failure as his actual purpose was to be a sin offering and rise after three days. Jesus conquered death and his followers remained steadfast in spreading the Gospel
Or people are really dense and don't care about thentruth. I'll go with that. I guess Jesus was a bad communicator also since many people misunderstand the Bible and misunderstand what he said. The Pope communicated just fine, it's the people who hear what they want, like hack job protestants, who misquote him.

To all who are prejudiced and habitually misinterpret the pope/Church, please note even Paul in the Bible has called God "foolish". 1 Cor 1: 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than men.
Yes He said Jesus failed at the cross. I heard it. The Pope and the Catholic Church cannot accept that Christs death paid our sin death IN FULL ONCE AND FOR ALL! Yes, it’s not by works that we are saved. READ THE BIBLE! Jesus completed his purpose on earth; God in flesh, because HE LOVES US! Churches don’t save people! Jesus said on the cross “It is finished”! Completed!
You didn't hear it. He said _in the eyes of the world_ Jesus seemed to be a failure. But he goes on to say that from the eyes of god and in reality wasn't a failure Because he arose from the dead. You need to do a better research. It's so sad that anti-Catholics just hear what they want to hear, not what's actually said.
Jesus said it was finished, but you apparently don't know what that means since it wasn't finished yet. He hadn't even risen from the Dead yet. Paul said if he didn't rise from the dead or faith would be in vain. Jesus also said you needed to be baptized.
Did he rise from the dead? Or did he need to rise to complete the Salvation process? We're just saying you misunderstand like so many other Protestants. What you have demonstrated is that you heard the Pope wrong. Because I corrected you and your mishearing above. We still love you and pray for you though.
The pope then should of told 'the world' the truth, the word failure is very misleading, deceiving to anyone who is lost. Why doesn't the pope tell the world the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He, Jesus says I AM the way, the Truth and the Life, No one comes to the FATHER except by Me. Mary does not here people's prays. Mary was the mother of Jesus Christ, not God Almighty, she tells a friend or cousin how Her heart has been magnified by Her Savior, meaning she needed to be saved also. This massive cult is one of many. It breaks my heart that so many people are deceived. I write this with Love. ❤️ 🙏 ❤️
If you think things can be better. Well just start to act! No matter what, i am a catholic and stay. Tell me, to who would i go? You are the church toogether. Make the best of it folks!
This is a question often asked by antichristians to weight the morality of Christian doctrine. Yes, comminting a mortal sin without knowing it is a mortal sin, is still a mortal sin. But. This is almost impossible if one has heard of the gospel or of its teachings. This is found only in people who have never had any contact with Judeo Christian beliefs. For example "pro-choice" practice can be honestly seen as good in a country far removed from God, but in the west no one can fool themselves that this is not a sin The real question is how will God judge this people? Do this peoples have a chance of salvation? I haven't look this up in Catholic doctrine. But Jesus did preached he saved people who didn't know of him.
from what I understand you have to know it has to be grave matter and you have to know it is grave matter. but on the safe side confession never hurts in any situation where sin is involved
The criteria for a mortal sin is that it's gravely sinful, you KNOW that it's gravely sinful, and you choose to do it anyway. If you commit a sin, but don't realize how serious it is at the time, it's not a mortal sin, but finding out later that it was more serious than you thought will likely make you feel great remorse. You don't HAVE to confess it, but it would probably be good to confess it anyway.

Pope Francis is not perfect, but you can't deny amore latisius, and other confusing things he has mentioned that is not Catholic teaching, like God wills all religions, that is not made up. You can't get mad at people calling him out, the way Paul called out Peter. It is the job of the the laity as well to seek truth, it works both ways. We all need to be open to truth as well.
Yes, but you didn't listen to the rest of the interview that was cut off at that moment. And you didn't listen to It in context. And you never took the time to look up everything he said on the subject. The Bible says to cut off your hands and cut out your eyes. I heard it and read it with my own eyes. So God's telling people to mutilate themselves. End of story. That's the kind of logic you're using without caring about context. It's not intellectually honest. That's why we broke down word for word. In order to know the truth, you first have to care about it.
you are right. Actually he said it on two seperate occasions. The other one he blames God the Father letting His own Son die on the cross. And recently, he admits he doesn't know why Jesus died on the cross.
I can't even imagine being a pope nowadays, every little thing he says gets scrutinized to death, other popes did not have to deal with social media, plus all the different interest groups who are ready to call foul at any non PC comment
It's not anti catholic It's Sola Scriptora. Peter was sent to the Jews by Jesus and Paul was sent to the Gentiles by Jesus. Peter Jewish law and works. Paul taught the gospel of grace. Yeah I have a question, if your whole religion is based upon Peter being the Rock then who is Jesus? Is Jesus the founder of a state run religion?
Sola scriptura isn't biblical which is why we reject it. You can't find one passage where it says to only go by the bible or that Scripture alone is the final Authority for a Christian. Show us that verse.
Jesus is the ultimate rock, cornerstone and foundation of the church. Some people say that Jesus is the rock so Peter cannot be. But two people can be the same thing in different ways. For example, in Ephesians 2:20, it says the apostles and the prophets are the foundation. But in the book of Revelation, it says Jesus is the foundation. It's not a contradiction, it's just different understandings. Jesus is the ultimate rock and cornerstone, but he clearly made Peter the head of the church when he gave him the keys of the Kingdom and a special authority. Thus, the Church is built on Peter as Jesus said, but he is the ultimate cornerstone.
So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ as well as a partaker in the glory that is to be revealed. Tend the flock of God that is your charge, not by constraint but willingly, not for shameful gain but eagerly, not as domineering over those in your charge but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd is manifested you will obtain the unfading crown of glory. Likewise you that are younger be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that in due time he may exalt you. Cast all your anxieties on him, for he cares about you. Be sober, be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking some one to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experience of suffering is required of your brotherhood throughout the world. And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, establish, and strengthen you. To him be the dominion for ever and ever. Amen
I have taken down what I text in regard to ecumenism etc, but moreover I have spoken to those who are saying that the Pope said the cross was a failure, isn’t true, he didn’t mean what people are trying to Imply/say he meant, that the cross was a failure, which if taken the way it is gossiped about would be blasphemous, but he did NOT mean that, as he was making a contrast with the way people see success & of course that contrast is accurate in that the Apostles & disciples would have been devastated & thought “ how did this happen?” So what they were asking is “ Is this a failure from the one we were sure was the chosen one of God?” So I agree,… he didn’t say the cross was a failure!
You need to stop. He is blesphamous. Jesus knew what is heading towards Him and willingly gave His life to defeat death He is the conqueror not failure

We don't like to talk bad about anyone, but sadly, he has become an extremist, and has been going down that road for quite a while now. His courting the SSPX was extremely problematic. He seems to alienate and cut off anyone who disagrees with him. In fact he blocked us on Twitter just for charitably correcting some of his errors. He says things that are incorrect and leads people astray on topics like Vatican II. Some people have already debunked many of the things he says about Vatican II, Fatima, and similar topics.

It is very confusing to me what the current pope said. Perhaps he shouldn't of used the word 'failure' at all! Christs death on the cross and his resurrection should of been in his statement. 16Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17And Jesus said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18“I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. 19“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.” Peter is the first Catholic Pope. Becuase unlike the previous popes he is not a theologian or or a philosopher. Further, he seems to be more of the heart than the head and so doesn't speak clearly many times. Unlike previous popes, he speaks a lot of the cuff and gives a lot of his own opinions which popes don't usually do. They just stick with what's true and what the church teaches. This pope doesn't do that and so many people misunderstanding his unthought out opinions to be church teachings.

@@el-sig2249, I found his statement about Jesus seeming to be a failure by the world's standards to be quite easy to understand. I go to catholic church since childhood but thank God now i can differentiate between right and wrong not by hearing some human but from God Himself. No need to go to some mere human to guide me I can simply go to Bible and can see what is right or wrong. I dont despise catholics but there few rituals are ungodly. They need to see through them because those rituals reswlembles pagans
Unfortunately you may think that you can understand everything and differentiate between right and wrong by yourself but in the case of the Catholic Faith, you cannot. Just reading the Bible (the protestant way) is not enough. You need to know the History of the Church and to know the background of so many things. The Catholic is absolutely not pagan . They were persecuted for 300 years in Rome and had to live in the catacombs BECAUSE they were NOT pagan. The Catholic Church is the fulfilment of the Old Testament. The New Testament fulfils the OLD and the Church was instituted by Christ Himself and He is not pagan as you well know. If you have no idea what is going on in the church and what the meanings are of each gesture then you should not go there before you learn what it means. Bible ALONE Theory is Protestant and whatever they say is not the way it is. First of all they took 7 books out of the bible so the official Canonised Bible is NOT complete. The Catholic Church has 3 legs to stand on, the Protestant only 1. You can compare that to a stool with 3 legs. If you take one leg away the stool collapses. 2 legs is the same but even worse. The 3 legs are Magisterium, Tradition (with a Capital T meaning ORAL Teaching) and the Scriptures. None of the 3 should contradict each other. To start with , there was no physical BIBLE in the time of Christ and after His departure. The Teachings in the Churches and elsewhere were ORAL. There were no books, except handwritten scrolls and parchments on papyrus and animal skins. It took 3 years to handwrite and illustrate a Bible by monks, therefore people could never have a Bible until 1500 years later when the printing press came out. Even then , not everybody was literate , therefore they could not READ a Bible. So if there is a Church which teaches BIBLE ALONE, then you know they are wrong. Converted to Catholicism Cardinal John Henry Newman: " To be deep in History is to CEASE to be Protestant."
We agree. Unfortunately you are not going by the bible. The Bible clearly shows that Jesus put men in charge, namely the apostles and their successors. Jesus said in Luke 10:16 that if you listen to them, the leaders of the church, you listen to him and if you reject them you reject him. So you cannot be in a true Christianity that rejects the church and the authority that Christ gave the church. All Protestant religions think they can just do it on their own and yet they all make up their own Theology and can't even agree with the tens of thousands of them. That's not from the holy spirit.
@@CatholicTruthOfficial True Church you say. First of all you should read the Bible and understand it fully. You can only do that by the help of Holy spirit. May Holy spirit guide you. She herself said to listen to Him whatever He tells you to. But you guys ask saints and angels to take your prayers to God. Are you serious. I’m Catholic and thought the pope said that the cross was a failure so it’s not surprising that others who are not Catholic think this way , guess I don’t understand English but the pope should be more specific and not so vague. When other apologists have to “explain” what the pope actually meant or said we have a problem and this has been an ongoing problem with this pontificate
When our Pope speaks it is universal - apologetics helps modernists who challenge not in universal terms but in binarian terms to see clearly. Thus Matthew 7:7
But it's not just the Pope who's at fault you/we are at fault. We are in a world that is not charitable to what anyone says we argue on the daily without analysing the source ourself. Why would a man who joined the priesthood say the cross is a failure? That question alone should give you pause to be charitable to his words.

Exactly. That's why he said, "in the eyes of world" he was seen as a failure. He didn't say in the eyes of Christians he was a failure. No, the secular world, devoid of the Spirit and faith thought his life ended in failure, but Christians knownthe rest of the story.
@@CatholicTruthOfficial Jesus did not start the Catholic Church. That was Peter the Apostle. Who was the first Pope. The Church that Jesus began, was the body of himself. Wonderfully, that righteousness can be applied to your account by faith in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:20 "Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. 21 For he hath made him to be sin [the sin offering] for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." 1 John 5:13 "I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may KNOW that you HAVE eternal life."
What a poor way to phrase that. The pope could’ve easily done better. He could’ve said “remember from the human point of view it SEEMED as if Jesus himself failed at the cross” The pope literally said “Jesus life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, failure of the cross” That statement is blasphemous, and it wasn’t elaborated as it should’ve been
Not Blasphemous at all. He said humanly speaking, meaning in the eyes of the world. But he also says that Jesus rose again in power and Glory so clearly he doesn't believe it's a failure.
@@CatholicTruthOfficial but I don’t get why he didn’t just say in the eyes of the world he failed at the cross. Instead of humanly speaking he failed at the cross. It sounds like he’s saying Jesus wasn’t successful and let humanity down. It was poorly phrased in my opinion
@Sk8x4x3v3r he did say that, things don't always translate good from each language, the pope is saying that humanly speaking, notice 'human' Humanly we think Jesus failed, he let his enemies kill him, and he didn't defeat them, but in terms of God, Jesus succeeded exalted in his victory, taking our sins from us and saving the flock. So that they make be with him, abiding eternally
Hate makes people so stupid. Why would the Pope say that? People need to follow Pope Francis. He is a fantastic person and he gives powerful teachings.
Thank you for explaining this. When I read what the pope had supposedly said, I was shocked and could not believe it. Then I was hoping to read or hear what he really said. I know it now.
The report estimates that 216,000 children were abused by Catholic priests between 1950 and 2020, and that accounting for abuse by other Catholic church employees increases the total number to around 330,000. Around 80% of the victims were boys.
@@camp5607 strangely enough, the media never mentions the abuse elsewhere all over the world. There are also about 1000 priests who are falsely accused and have been removed. One example was Cardinal Pell who even went to prison if I am not mistaken. It took years for him to prove that he was innocent.
Thank u Brian for this video.. there are many outside and within the church trying to discredit the Pope becuase they feel he is too modern and is letting go of tradition.. these same people do not realise that traditions can change with times but the truth cannot, and so Jesus and his truth will always remain.. at times I find the Pope's statements off the mark but instead of criticizing him, I pray for him... that way, i surrender him in the hands of God and not pronounce judgement on him in matters of faith...
What about the time where he said the way of the cross was a history of the failure of God? There he did not say anything about “from man’s perspective”
I see a lot of people here not totally convinced and jumping to conclusions and accusations because they are not convinced. I want to fully understand what is being said here. This is the quote: "And if at times our efforts and works seem to fail and produce no fruit, we need to remember that we are followers of Jesus . . . and his life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, in the failure of the cross." I understand your argument that this was only saying that the world saw it as a failure, but it says that humanly speaking, his life ended in failure on the cross. That is not saying "seeming to end in failure", but rather "it ended in failure", is it not? Jesus denied all pleasures and temptations and in doing so won over the flesh. So then, he was perfect in both his human and divine nature. If it was any other way, he would not be capable of bearing our sins, would he not? So, therefore, in reality, not in appearance, how could it be said that Jesus was a failure in any way? If this isn't what is being said, what is and how (referencing the quote directly rather than just telling what is meant by it)?
The humans who are at his crucifixion thought it was a failure. But we know better after the resurrection. That's why he said humanly speaking. It could seem like a failure. But he also knows Christ rose from the dead and so it wasn't which is why we can rely on Christ in our failures.
The moment you said, "This is so dumb!" Hahaha exactly! Context! Context! Context! How is it that people don't seem to understand a simple thing like that! Thank you for your videos. I love your channel
How can Francis or any Catholic leader allow themselves t be call Holy Father when Bible states clearly...*Do not"...call anyone father in any church denomination ....does this brother not read this part of scripture like t rest ....one of reasons JESUS never gave any church denomination name as t TRUE church..it's bcaus He knew all this ridiculous n foolish disobedient behaviour w going t happen... JESUS is still gathering t TRUE church
Thank you for your question. Jesus in Matthew 23:9 was using rabbinic hyperbole. Similar to when he said if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It's not meant to be taken literally. We know this because men are called the father from the beginning of the New Testament to the end, both in a physical and in a spiritual way. In fact, Abraham is called our father in faith six times just in Romans chapter 4 alone. Paul and 1 Corinthians 4:15 said that he became our father in the gospel. So we know that all fatherhood, whether physical or spiritual, derives from God's fatherhood who is the ultimate and eternal father.
Lastly, the Catholic Church is not a denomination. It's the true church Jesus started. Denominations would not even be invented until 1500 years later.
Don’t get caught up in the Catholic deception brother. They’re all working for the enemy. Let them find out on the day of judgment. God is not Catholic or any denomination. It’s a personal relationship that they fail to see. Let them rely on works and God will be the ultimate Judge. Stay faithful brother, we’re on the right path. Go in peace my brother in Jesus name.

The Bible mentions that the disciples of Christ were called Christians. The word "catholic" was used for the Church as we use today when we say / profess that we " believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church". I am told that the earliest known writings about the Church being described as catholic are the writings of Ignatius, a bishop of Antioch. Later, the word Catholic was used to call members of the catholic Church.
The problem is not his speeches, it's the people who translate them. I speak three languages, Italian, Spanish and English. I don't know why main stream media always exaggerating his meanings. That is why I ignore the English media because their translations are ridiculous!
Yeah so next time the pope says "God is dead" you will come and say no he didn't actually say that. Bro wake up and stop defending what is clearly wrong.
God said kill babies in the bible. What a monster! Just go by what the Bible clearly says. Jesus told you to mutilate yourself by cutting it your eyes and cutting of your hands. This is the logic you're using when you just want something to be true regardless of context. It's no better than atheists.
@@CatholicTruthOfficial if we consider Paul's requirements for someone to be a scriptural teacher, pope Francis would fail. He only confuses people yet Paul encourages biblical teachers to be clear so that no one is left in confusion. Do you mean if Francis really wanted to bring it through the lens from the world he wouldn't have said it clearly? (for example 'to the people who are lost/of the world, to them the death on the cross is seen as a failure' that would be reasonable). see how Paul stated it well, "to those who are perishing, the message of the cross is foolishness, but to us who are saved it is the power of God...". Francis plainly saying "humanly speaking the death on the cross is a failure" not classifying whether to the christians or non christians shows that he is not a good scriptural teacher. We clearly don't know his true meaning behind saying such ridiculous statement.
The Bible is unclear. Paul's writings are unclear. In fact, Peter said they are difficult to understand which is why so many people twist them. Why didn't he just make them more clear? Pope Francis was not unclear about this. He didn't say Jesus was a failure. he said, "In the eyes or the WORLD, Jesus was a failure." In other words, that's what the WORLD thought of him. But as the pope himself said, Jesus rose from the dead and turned apparent failure into the greatest victory of all time.
@austin-91 there are literal tens of thousands of different denominations and even different bibles. gnostics, Unitarians, etc. Of course it's unclear! What are you on about
I love your defense but it is not strong enough and your defense is indefensible. Remember that a statement of truth has a converse statement which is always true and Pope never gave a converse statement. So I don't know what you are defending. Let me give you a typical example from the Bible. When the angel told Mary that she will conceive in her womb, Mary was surprised and said that how can this be since she knew no man. The angel showed her how it will happen and concluded that with GOD nothing shall be impossible(Luke1:37) Thus, as Mary was thinking of the impossibility from human perspective the angel converse it with possibility from GOD. A similar thing happened when JESUS was teaching on marriage (Matt.19:26) and the disciples were shocked and realized the impossibility of marriage, JESUS said that with men this is impossible but with GOD all things are possible. This is what is meant by statement of truth, the opposite of that statement is always true. So the Pope saying that humanly speaking, the cross was a failure is not the problem because he was saying that when we view the cross from human perspective. However, he failed to balance his statement with the converse statement before the clapping. He never placed emphasis on the victory of the cross in the same speech and so if in another speech he talks about the victory of the cross, then the Pope is inconsistent with his speech, he says something here and say another thing somewhere. Inconsistent speech gives room for all interpretations. In your defense, you were trying to give an implication statement trying to say what the Pope implies, but since the Pope himself never implied what you are implying for his speech, your defense is unfounded, not factual, untrue and baseless. Let the Pope do better than this. Remember, the Pope is making so many statements which are inconsistent with the Christian faith. Statement like brother sun (as compared to the Mexican female president oath in father sun), all roads/religion lead to salvation/GOD and many more
We agree that some things he states is not clear, but this wasn't unclear and was not an off the wall statement. Some people will find anything to attack him no matter what he says.

@@CatholicTruthOfficial This was a warning to the Jews who would follow Jesus. That it would be better "metaphorically" to give up a part of ones self. Than to be cast by the men into the fire of *Gehenna* where they burned cadavers, the bodies of the ungodly, criminal, and blasphemers, continually among the waste. There is no such thing as hell. You "Catholics" created that BS in the 4th century to control the people through fear. Because what Jesus accomplished on the cross, was the saving of all Gods creation. Especially those who believe. 1 Timothy 4:10 The 4 Gospels btw, were written for The Jews (Israelites). Not the Gentiles. Know the Audience each book addresses. Because Jesus didn't teach the Gentiles, but marveled their faith for him in comparison to the Jews, his disciples as it was written.
Our sin and error however small and few they are will increase/multiply, will grow big and will become strong and stronger until we can't control them or ourselves anymore from committing them ..... IF we deny, ignore, hide and justify our sins and errors and if we don't repent of them and make reparations. Worse, our unrepentant sins/errors esp when they multiplied will gradually take away the grace of true contrition that we feel for our sins or our heart will become hardened or we no longer feel true sorrow and contrition for our sin. Our unrepentant sins also produce spiritual blindness in us. The more our unrepentant sins multiply, the greater our spiritual blindness and the more hardened our heart will become.
This is why before I humbly ask God to reveal His truth to me, (I do this every day) I ask first for forgiveness from God for my sins and falsehoods/heresies that I may have committed even if I think I have not committed those sins so that God will answer my prayer or reveal to me His real Truth because if we have hidden unrepentant unforgiven sins/heresies/falsehoods, God will not reveal His truth to us even if we pray for IT because our UNREPENTANT sins/heresies/falsehoods prevent God from revealing His Truth to us.
This is the reason why many people pray to God to reveal His Truth to them but ended up in different faiths and religions ...... So if you really want God to reveal His truth to you or the fullness of Truth, purify your heart and intention and keep asking God for forgiveness for your sins/falsehoods/heresies even if you are not aware of them JUST TO MAKE SURE that there are NO obstacles in your prayers or your praying to God to reveal His truth to you or the fullness of Truth.
Every day, I pray to God to reveal to me His Truth. Every day, I keep growing in His Truth. God has revealed to me His Truth .... that rad trads, sedes, protestants etc DON'T possess the fullness of His truth BUT the Catholic Church headed by the Pope (Francis).
There have been times when God would reveal to me that the reason why He is not solving my problem despite my assiduous praying was because I have hidden unrepentant unforgiven sin/s in that area. Then, God would reveal to me or make me remember my unrepentant sin/s and I, in turn, would repent of my sins or confess if needed. After repenting of my sin, my problem would be resolved! Praise God!
But it is not always due to our sins why our problems are not solved or not solved right away. Sometimes, it takes a while or a long time before God answers our prayers in order to test our faith in Him and our patience.

Christ isn’t in “a progressive direction”. If your friends haven’t taken up their cross, repented and rejected their homosexuality, they don’t know Christ. This is the gospel of Christ since long before Francis Bergoglio.

If the Pope can cause so much confusion with this statement, he is a very poor communicator.
Or people are really dense and don't care about thentruth. I'll go with that. I guess Jesus was a bad communicator also since many people misunderstand the Bible and misunderstand what he said.
Actually I Did hear it. And you’re telling me that when JESUS SAID it is finished…He was wrong? Who are YOU?

The pope then should of told 'the world' the truth, the word failure is very misleading, deceiving to anyone who is lost. Why doesn't the pope tell the world the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He, Jesus says I AM the way, the Truth and the Life, No one comes to the FATHER except by Me. Mary does not here people's prays. Mary was the mother of Jesus Christ, not God Almighty, she tells a friend or cousin how Her heart has been magnified by Her Savior, meaning she needed to be saved also. I have a question (off topic) if you comit a mortal sin withouout knowing it was a mortal sin but knowing it was a sin then is it considered mortal?
This is a question often asked by antichristians to weight the morality of Christian doctrine.
Yes, comminting a mortal sin without knowing it is a mortal sin, is still a mortal sin.
But.
This is almost impossible if one has heard of the gospel or of its teachings.
This is found only in people who have never had any contact with Judeo Christian beliefs.
For example "pro-choice" practice can be honestly seen as good in a country far removed from God, but in the west no one can fool themselves that this is not a sin
The real question is how will God judge this people?

Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that in due time he may exalt you.

He said what he said and meant it. Stop twisted pope's word to suit Catholic narrative.
Don’t waste yur breath love- anyone of any Christian denomination with half an ounce of sense would have known the pope said nothing out of line.
Do you have any thoughts on Dr. Taylor Marshall?
We don't like to talk bad about anyone, but sadly, he has become an extremist, and has been going down that road for quite a while now. His courting the SSPX was extremely problematic. He seems to alienate and cut off anyone who disagrees with him. In fact he blocked us on Twitter just for charitably correcting some of his errors. He says things that are incorrect and leads people astray on topics like Vatican II. Some people have already debunked many of the things he says about Vatican II, Fatima, and similar topics.
I can see Brian discussing his Pope bashing habits. But for now the channel Reason & Theology has discussed his theological and/ or historical errors.Dr. Taylor refuses to debate anyone.
@@CatholicTruthOfficial no he does not lead people astray...he has stated that Francis is the Pope...now you are falsely accusing. So sad.

I actually listen to Taylor Marshall frequently and agree with some of there things he says(he recently made a video talking about Pope Francis and his involvement with Russia and Ukraine and he believes that the Pope shouldn’t have tried to get himself involved which I disagree with. If you want to know more I would recommend his video because he can voice his opinion better than I can). I also don’t know a huge amount about the SSPX but he does defend Archbishop Lefebvre and I just can’t really agree with that. He completely disobeyed the Pope which doesn’t seem right to me. Most of the things I listen to him about are End Times related, current events, and Traditional Latin Mass. I know a lot of people get on him about his opinion on Pope Francis. I actually don’t think he is too bad on that. People who comment on his channel can be very disrespectful of the pope. I think Taylor does a good job of loving and respecting the pope even when we disagree with him. I’m 14 and you and Taylor have both helped me a lot with my faith. Thanks for responding to my comment and making another great video!

It is very confusing to me what the current pope said. Perhaps he shouldn't of used the word 'failure' at all! Christs death on the cross and his resurrection should of been in his statement. Jesus was victorious.Jesus did not fail by any means. This is Satan again being a lier and a deceiver at his best!
19“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.”

Why must the Holy Father have to speak in ways that always need extensive explanations?!
Because they need to makeup their lies.
Or else none would follow them.

Don't teach me Bible. It needs understanding. Read 1 Coronthians chapter 1:13. You guys put saints along side God even mother mary. Sheis respectable among all females but still a woman. She herself said to listen to Him whatever He tells you to. But you guys ask saints and angels to take your prayers to God. Are you serious. The vail of the temple was torn and now we can asl God anything as a child to His/her father. Christianity is not following some old man rules. Its following Jesus and His teachings. You guys have put pagan religion in Christianity and corrupted it.
Stop accusing others and think over this. Why many catholics in the world start following other religions. You can serach yourself. If you have Holy spirit to guide you and if you have a close relationship with Godas a Father you would listen to Him alone not a mere human

What place Catholic Truth is located in CT?
Tamaps - Exactly. Well said. Why would anyone be Christian who thinks the cross is a failure. Makes zero sense.

Jesus Christ in the Catholic church are the best ways to know what truth is. Jesus is truth. And Jesus started the Catholic Church
@@CatholicTruthOfficial Jesus did not start the Catholic Church. That was Peter the Apostle. Who was the first Pope. The Church that Jesus began, was the body of himself. Those who would walk, share the gospel, and dine with those in their homes for supper to share, teach, debate doctrine. The church was to be done in homes, not a literal temple, where everyone idolizes a sinner in a robe. Or the pyramid scheme that is instituted today. Paul the Apostle was the last one to do this regularly.
The roman catholic church is the church of Satan.
Even if what you are saying is true, the fact you had to make a video to defend the Pope from confusing and poorly worded hyperbole, certainly casts a shadow on the infallibility of the Pope.

I don't believe there is any Church teaching that supports your view.
What did Francis mean? Who knows? But if YOU think that you need to earn salvation by your own good works and "merited grace" then YOU are calling Jesus a failure and YOU are calling Jesus a liar when he cried out, "It is finished". The only sufficient righteousness is the perfect holy righteousness of the Lord Jesus. Wonderfully, that righteousness can be applied to your account by faith in Him.

What a poor way to phrase that. The pope could’ve easily done better.
He could’ve said “remember from the human point of view it SEEMED as if Jesus himself failed at the cross”
The pope literally said “Jesus life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, failure of the cross”
That statement is blasphemous, and it wasn’t elaborated as it should’ve been
Not Blasphemous at all.
@Sk8x4x3v3r he did say that, things don't always translate good from each language, the pope is saying that humanly speaking, notice 'human'
Humanly we think Jesus failed, he let his enemies kill him, and he didn't defeat them, but in terms of God, Jesus succeeded exalted in his victory, taking our sins from us and saving the flock. So that they make be with him, abiding eternally

We don't worship Mary. Only Jesus the Lord! Praise be to Him!!
Hi Rosemary, can you explain why you believe Catholics worship Mary? Thanks.
Not worship; get educated before speaking.

Hey Bryan if you can respond to this please do I’m confused on Google it says that Catholics are Christian and I’m confused please respond
Catholics are most certainly Christian.
Why are you confused? Catholics are Christians, followers of Christ. We are the original and oldest Christians.
@ShyTurtle Your 11 yrs old --- still very young! You need a lot of guidance. If you don't understand something about the Catholic faith, just ask Brian. He can help you. God bless.
I wish the Pope's speeches were not so confusing. They are terrible. Make it alittle more understandable for people!
@@CatholicTruthOfficial hahaha "the bible is unclear" is it why you rely so much on tradition and the church extra biblical teachings? Am done here.
Statement like brother sun (as compared to the Mexican female president oath in father sun), all roads/religion lead to salvation/GOD and many more
He has done this before. He is never clear, makes off the wall statements
We agree that some things he states is not clear, but this wasn't unclear and was not an off the wall statement. Some people will find anything to attack him no matter what he says.
First get your information from the Bible and from the church media.

Yes truly he said it . But u can't believe it is your problem because u r eyes are blinded can't help it.
And Jesus said cut out your eyes and cut off your hands. He was promoting mutilation. How does that help your point if you don't love God enough to care about truth or context?
Where did it say that when they Killed Jesus after he was called a theif etc he mutilated, and thanks for providing me informed information about how your website is fake and not in support of God as you should not be saying lies in God's name so thanks for your help with my help in justifying God's word as his words don't lir and your website will help others know who are doing the truth and those trying to get popular .
1 Timothy 4:10
The 4 Gospels btw, were written for The Jews (Israelites).
He also said let’s turn to the blessed Mary who can I intervene for us

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing
I feel Pope Francis could've word that better if he was saying from the humans point of view they saw Jesus death on the cross as a failure cause they didn't know he was going to come back 3 days later, he could've worded it completely different so people won't get it confused
To be fair, only anti Catholics and people who hate the church got confused. But they also didn't bother looking into the statement at all.
@@CatholicTruthOfficialthat’s a pretty obtuse statement. I’m a Christian and I would die for my faith, but I am vehemently against Catholicism. The amount of heresy I have seen coming from Catholicism through history and even recently, I cannot confidently follow one man who claims to stand as the vicur of Christ and then spits in his face by affirming homosexual unions, saying the cross failed (in ANY context), and stripping bishops of their authority for standing on the Word of God. And the fact that your only argument against this is to gaslight anyone who disagrees with you, it seems like you aren’t confident in what you believe yourself to
@CatholicTruthOfficial Or they’re people that love and are trying to defend jesus
This man is a false profit
I'm glad Pope Francis is steering the church in a more progressive direction. Some LGBT friends want to know Christ because of him. We'll keep praying for you, Papa!
Christ isn’t in “a progressive direction”. If your friends haven’t taken up their cross, repented and rejected their homosexuality, they don’t know Christ. This is the gospel of Christ since long before Francis Bergoglio.
Christ isn't in a regressive direction either 🤷♂️ there's space in Christianity for both conservatism and liberalism. and gay people aren't all having sex. and even the ones that are, as long as they make a constant habit of repenting and trying to get back up, they will enter Heaven
No, the church makes it clear that there is no room for liberalism Doctrine or teaching or thought. And in fact the Catholic church has condemned the liberalism. We made a whole video on that.
Lgbtq people should want to know Christ, and they should seek to have a deep relationship with Christ and to know that they are loved by Christ.
@@CatholicTruthOfficial I'm not referring to the ideology, I'm referring to liberalism as it exists as a movement. so things like workers rights, fair wages, etc are liberal ideas, part of the liberal movement, and fully backed by the Church
