I've been battling addiction since 16, im 27 now, and have been in and out of rehabs etc... destroyed my mom. I have a little over 3 years clean now and this is the song I dedicated to her. I love you Brakence you have no idea the things you do for us. Please don't stop.
Been there, same age even. Listened to only his new album on repeat before I last went to detox, and always visit his music when I’m down and need some help
I moved out when I was 16. Struggled with heroin and cocaine. I'm just over 6 years clean from heroin and 4.5 years clean from cocaine. Without the few people sticking by my side I don't know how I would have made it. Be strong, man. It only gets better from here.
I don't listen to Eden's songs just because of the melody (which is very good), but also because of the feeling that his songs go through, of nostalgia and etc.
Bruh he made a song like that and your listening to it. Not every single idea has to become it's own thing. The best songs combine different ideas and create contrast within themselves. If you can't appreciate the whole song the way it is, with that amazing beatswitch, than i don't think this artist is for you
@@OneClickWonder bro you reeaallly need to chill, ya the switch up goes hard but it would also be interesting to see him doing a song where the majority is hard and he then he goes soft for the break. Saying that doesn't invalidate the work of art and no one said that they didn't appreciate the song as is. Take a breath and enjoy the music homie. Telling others how to enjoy music isn't the way to go.
@@kevhartman9103 That's your opinion. Not dylan's opinion. If brakence wants to make a hard song with a soft beatswitch that's amazing but it looks like dylan over here literally just listens to the last bit without taking in the first 2 mins. I don't think he's enjoyjng the artist. There's a point to making the beginning softer than the end. Dylan makes it sound like he wants to just listen to the last bit on repeat which to me, as someone who also makes music and art, is really frustrating since brakence obviously put those parts there to create contrast and not to be skipped.
@@OneClickWonder I think him saying that he comes back for that part doesn't necessarily mean that he doesn't listen to the rest of the song, I take it as him saying that that's why he comes back to this song as a whole. And even if he doesn't, that should be ok. There's no right way to listen to music, If he wants to skip to the end I don't think that should be a problem. I write music too and I agree to an extent that there is a lot of value to be gained from listening to a song as a whole but he's obviously done that as well, how else would he have gotten to the end. But just as lyrics are up to interpretation, you can't control how someone enjoys your music. I'm sure brakence would simply be happy to know that Dylan is getting joy out of his work even if he was playing it at .5 speed through a speaker submerged in water. You're perfectly entitled to your opinion but you can't tell someone that they aren't enjoying an artist properly. That's like telling someone that their not a fan of an artist because they don't know every title to every song. Just be glad you get to share the gift of this dude's music with others.
This song gives me an indescribable feeling. I grew up in a place very reminiscent of the photographs used for this song's cover, especially in the fall. I'm not sure why, what I was going through when I first heard this song, but I'm already nostalgic for it. I just get transported to this beautiful place that feels fleeting, like the childhood I'm in the process of leaving behind. This is truly one of my favorite songs ever and it has such a special place with me. I love it very much.
[Chorus] Now there's too many people that I have done wrong And that I owe my thanks to for sticking along with me Along for me (One, two, three, and) [Verse 1] Think I'm dreamin' This isn't real 'Cause you leave in a month And I'm fiending for something to feel When you hold me Know you know me down to my core This is the calm before the storm You diverted attention/the tension away when I mentioned that someone else gon' need you more [Chorus] Now there's too many people that I have done wrong And that I owe my thanks to for sticking along with me Along for me (Oh, oh) [Sample] Who are you? [Verse 2] And I fell apart in that bed What we built isn't me Won't put it back together again I can't take back what I said I just look through those messages I left on read Oh, and I took you to rosier 'Cause I thought we could cope We got out on the ocean I fell out my boat And you calmed me back down And you gave me some hope And I tossed that away for a seratone [Chorus] Now there's too many people that I have done wrong And that I owe my thanks to for sticking along with me Along with me (Oh, oh) [Bridge] No commitments I'm going to hell, you're going to heaven It doesn't negate our holy connection And next time I fly too close to the sun I'm not gonna run, this shit was for fun [Verse 3] (Fifty, Fifty, Fifty) I left home now I'm fucked up Realized how much I loved you Whole god damn life, been a suckup Now I'm just tryna get my luck up All the pain went when you kissed me We were 10 toes up now I'm 6 feet down Moved on, you don't need me now Now I gotta figure me out (ya!) No, I gotta figure me out (oh-ooh, yeah, uh) Bitch, I'm up next Fuckboy ain't a threat Put a price on my head Won't sell my soul for a check That's on god, that's on sound You won't ever see me 'round I'll be cookin' up some shit that'll probably get me out this town [Outro] So far, are these visual things the only affect you find?
This song like so many others by brakence is a work of art, plain and simple. The ability here to evoke such a wide range of emotions through sound and lyricism has been so inspiring to an aspiring musician like myself. This song in particular captures relatable feelings of nostalgia and emotional turmoil in such a new and genius way that it’s almost indescribable. The pure creativity is refreshing. An underrated gem.

[Chorus]
Now there's too many people that I have done wrong

Think I'm dreamin'
This isn't real

When you hold me
Know you know me down to my core
This is the calm before the storm

What we built isn't me
Won't put it back together again
I can't take back what I said
I just look through those messages
I left on read
Oh, and I took you to rosier
'Cause I thought we could cope
We got out on the ocean
I fell out my boat
And you calmed me back down
And you gave me some hope
And I tossed that away for a seratone
[Chorus]
Now there's too many people that I have done wrong
And that I owe my thanks to for sticking along with me
Along with me
(Oh, oh)
[Bridge]
No commitments
I'm going to hell, you're going to heaven
It doesn't negate our holy connection
And next time I fly too close to the sun
I'm not gonna run, this shit was for fun
[Verse 3]
(Fifty, Fifty, Fifty)
I left home now I'm fucked up
Realized how much I loved you
Whole god damn life, been a suckup
Now I'm just tryna get my luck up
All the pain went when you kissed me
We were 10 toes up now I'm 6 feet down
Moved on, you don't need me now
