Many have the 'jimmy tool' to unlock it. It's really ok to want the child AND the window intact. It doesn't mean they were choosing the window over the child.
The child wasn't in a car seat! I think they left her there, and she'd been there longer than 10 minutes. Stupid lady -- save my car windows, not my child! She doesn't deserve this precious little soul!
I can't believe all the morons commenting that equated the window being more valuable than the child. I was thinking, probably as the parent, didn't they have a jimmy tool to open the door and have BOTH intact. I watched local police here rescue an accidentally locked car with dogs inside and they just used pry tools and a wire to unlock the door. @@joetolopino7126 I agree -- people judge based on a sentence or two these days, but this baby was not in a car seat, and I truly believe she had been left in that car. I can’t physically bear a child and even I know that when a child is in physical danger, you do whatever you can to save your child. Their behavior would have alarmed me if I were the police officer and I would have called for a social services interview.
My sister-in-law had this happen in her driveway. Her son locked the doors with the key inside, laughing. Luckily, we were able to convince him to unlock the door before we had to call police to bust the window open.

Crazy people. Look at that car filled up with garbage and just mindless consumption at a parking lot. How can they possibly leave a 1year old inside a car?? Sorry but I would have this parents take parenting courses and more. So sad for that poor child. A true catastrophe.who cares about a broken window !!! It’s your baby!!! So so sad
You do realize your car insurance company can get you roadside assistance and do a lock-out where they get inside without breaking the glass. I thought everybody knew that.
You do realize that the kid would have most likely been dead by the time AAA or roadside assistance got there, right? They take up to an hour or more sometimes. It was a 911 situation for sure.
Did anyone not see the small window in the back window..? Why in the world would you not smash it first then reach your hands around to unlock the door. I tell ya common sense has not only left the average citizen but now the police🤦🏻♂️
Common sense is overrated. That small window is probably glued in, so it is much harder to replace than the window he thankfully did break, which is probably only attached with two bolts on the bottom.
@@Inductor128 Much more costly to replace the larger window. The corner smaller one is wayyyy cheaper, not to mention worse case they could of used a temp patch to get by with plastic and some glue if need be.

Anyone with a uterus can produce a child, but it takes a special person to be a mother!
This was the correct thing to do. Thank you Officer.

85-90 degrees outside temp currently in Flagler County and this happened two days ago!
Hope they do a welfare check on this kid . That car was awful inside all that junk etc . Not safe for any child .
