Another great video, loving seeing parts of the Czech Republic beyond Prague. I'm heading to Berlin then Prague this weekend and it's suppose to warm right up to mid 20s so might be worth staying around in Central Europe for a little longer.
I love Pilsner Urquell, one of the best in my opinion. Fair enough if its not to your taste Gabriel. Great Vlog as usual. Hope you enjoyed the Aussie/Czech pies
I have never expected you to visit my hometown, thanks for giving it a go. I hope you'll give Pilsner Urquell another try in the future. The taste from a can and from a tap can be very different. Pilsner brewery has huge effect on Czech beer culture and the care that is given to pouring of beer is something you will not experience in any other country. I recommend watching the video from Honest Guide ''Why does beer in Europe have huge foam head?'' and visiting any czech pub from list of ''Brewers star'' establishments awarded by Pilsner Urquell and I believe you would understand more why is Pilsner so popular. If you ever visit Prague in the summer, there is a hidden gem called ''Kuchyň'' next to the entrance to Prague Castle, it translates to ''Kitchen'' and it is amazing Czech restaurant with the best view of the city. Hope you will have lovely time in Central Europe and I can't wait for more Greek islands!
There are quite a few smaller European countries where almost all tourism is in the capital. Another one is my country Sweden, we have about the same population size as the Czech Republic and almost all tourists only ever visit Stockholm, but there are many other cool cities and towns much worth visiting, like Malmö, Lund, Gothenburg, Uppsala, Visby, Östersund, Ystad and Sigtuna (the oldest town in Sweden). Also Denmark is much more than just Copenhagen. Pilsen looks interesting!
I've been to Uppsala and I agree... it's an amazing place with beautiful surroundings, Nature, people... Malmo on the other hand was is a bit disappointing, unsafe place...
@@veliborb The Malmö old town is quite nice, and Malmö has one of the best city beaches in Sweden. Agree it's not among the best cities though, but still worth a small visit.
Hej
Interesting tour. Haha, in 12:45 at the bottom of the of the Backbeat Beetles Cover Band flyer it says in Czech, "Ticket = The Best Christmas Present". Funny sales pitch.
Great video G. I've added Plzen for an overnight stop now too. Was wondering how to get there from Karlovy Vary, you've solved that for me. Will be travelling on to Cesky Krumlov too.
Pilsen is really an underrated city and this video shows why. Thank you for showing us this video, Gabriel. Česke Budejovice is a nice center of South Bohemia as Česky Krumlov and Hluboka Castle nearby are really amazing spots, some of the best in the country. Brno in Moravia (east) is underrated, too, I had a nice time there in Christmas season last year. As of Slovakia, I can say that it is surely a hidden gem of Europe, especially beyond Bratislava. I travelled there last year all around the country and I can confirm it, endorse and recommend. I recommend doing Trenčin (nice historic city), romantic Bojnice Castle, unique and special village Čičmany with unique painted houses, Orava Castle near Liptovsky Mikulaš (film setting for Nosferatu-1922 Dracula movie), amazing mountains High Tatras (Štrbske Pleso with lake, Lomnicky Štit above Tatranska Lomnica with cable car to 2,634 m) and Košice (very underrated second-biggest city in the country). If in Czech Republic it is all well linked with public transport (trains, buses), in Slovakia it is somewhere better to rent a car (especially for Čičmany village and Bojnice Castle from Trenčin or Žilina) although High Tatras are well connected (towns Štrbske Pleso, Stary Smokovec and Tatranska Lomnica between them by train and with Zakopane, Poland, too). So I personally hope that you don't miss Slovakia once again (as it was last year), it will last only like 14 days the most, so there will still be nice time to go to Mediterranean after that (before the summer crowds). You can also take a flight in Krakow after visiting Slovakia, it is right north of Zakopane. Have a nice time, bon voyage.
The old city in Pilsen looks amazing. Good news, the weather is expected to be much warmer & sunny in central Europe from this weekend. Really enjoying your travel videos and experiences.
Bamberg in Germany is so close. It's largest world heritage site of UNESCO and with tree counties around the highest density of breweries in the planet: 1300 with 4,000 brands. Every village has one. Before every street. Also it is called small Rome, Small Venice and it is sister city to Prague as built by the same architect. P.s.: In my city Bamberg you have to visit SCHLENKERLA - a smoked beer, the first ever and all love it! Also als US people.
@@LaVerdad-JournalDe , sorry, I have been to Bamberg and didn't see anything really special in it as an experience European tourist. Česky Krumlov and Slovakia are definitely much more interesting.

Thank you for this tour of Pilsen. A very interesyting city! I would like to add that the company Skoda was founded in 1859 in Pilsen and it famous for its cars. However, the brand ''Skoda'' refers to buses, trolleybuses, locomotives too. Tomas Masarik (1850 - 1937) is a scientist and the first president between 1920 - 1935 of the new-founded Checoslovakia. Besides, Pilsen is the birthplace of Karel Gott(1939 - 2019), the ''King of the check pop music''.
If you decide to go to Slovakia I would recommend to stop in the east of CZ in Brno and the Moravian Karst near Brno where is the Macocha Abyss and the underground cave river of Punkva which you can take a boat ride on.
After sitting in the train, you need to move and find lots of stairs 😅. Pecfect day, the view was great. Don’t worry about your clothes, it is still cold and i guess we all focus on the nice places we can visit with you.
You made somehow a mistake, asuming Brno is similar to Pilsen and Cesky Krumlov. It's a very unique city, by the way like 10x larger than Krumlov, also different from Prague. Brno is a super compact city with a lot of nice architecture, but also some absolutely unique sightseeings, such as Tombs with ossuary in one of the main squares. Also always with plenty of valuable cultural events, like galleries and exhibitions.
27:00 be glad it did not ring. Sound levels from the small ones are around 110DB inside. And that big boy could reach 200DB easily. You would lost your hearing at that distance. I was once inside a church tower doing photoshooting for them. Two minutes before noon something starts to buzz and the bell starts slowly to swing... 1cm left... 2 cm right... we ran downstairs like crazy, the sound hit us on the first floor of the tower. Was not very pleasant 😅 My most used word for a week was "what?"
You are in for a treat in Cesky Krumlov - and it will be over 20 degrees Celsius in a couple of days! Really glad you're enjoying your visit of Czech republic, there is so much to see! Hope you visit Slovakia as well (my birthplace), also so many beautiful spots there, as well as the High Tatras mountains!
Great sharing of perspective as usual Gabe. I think that if the bell in the cathedral was working, it would maybe be too loud standing directly beside it. Atleast I imagine so.
Pilsen looks like a beautiful city. I love the square with the cathedral, the view from the top was awesome, reminded me a bit of Ulm in Germany, very similar. Czech Republic looks so clean and the trains and trams look like a great mode of transport. Great video, looking forward to Cesky Krumlov, should be amazing. 😊❤
The weather is improving over the next week Gabriel, starting Monday it will be around 25 °C in Slovakia, a little colder in the Tatra mountains. You can take a tram ( Zubačka ) from Štrba to Štrbské Pleso. It’s like a small Swiss paradise but much cheaper. From there you can go to Tatranská Lomnica where you can take a cable car to the Lomnický Štít, an observatory at the peak of the High Tatra Mountains. Good Luck!
In your video from a few days ago ( travel fails.. ) @ojstra made a reply to my comment with some interesting info regarding some nice places to see in Slovakia and also where and how to get tickets if you plan to go to the peak. Good Luck Gabriel!
Glad you're heading back to Greece. In case you didn't see my previous post on the subject, if i were you I would rent a car in Athens and drive to east side of the Peloponnese. From Athens, this would involve passing through Corinth, Nafplion, Mystras (near ancient Sparta), and finishing the mainland tour at Monemvasia. From there, you could take a ferry to Kithara island and then branch out to other islands. I've done this circuit many times when I used to teach Byzantine history to American students studying abroad and it is simply amazing.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos In the event that you're unable to procure a one-way rental (or if it's prohibitively expensive), you could do a loop back to Athens. This could involve going back thru Gytheio, Kalamata, Meligalas, Tripoli. However it might unfold, the eastern part of the Peloponnese is an absolute must.
One more idea - you could simply get a ferry from Athens to Kithara and then take a bus to Monemvasia and Mystras. Those two towns are the quintessential ones not to miss.

Kozel is my favourite beer, good choice!I am very glad that you like it here, the wheather forecast for the weekend is good, have a nice time,Gabriel and thank you for the presentation of our country.👍
Hi Gabriel, a fascinating little city you must be looking to get out of that chilly weather, and you want to get to Greece or a warm island before it gets crowded. I could see you for a month in Greece at the very least before the crowds come.
I went on the brewery tour in 2010. It was decent enough, about an hour and a half. They were canning Kozel beer at the brewery when we were there. Someone asked if Kozel was now brewed there too instead of Moravia but I think the guide said no.
I don't know if you're going back to Prague on your trip, but if you do I recommend you to go to Kozlovna Lidická, this is a pub/restaurant owned by company that owns Kozel and has their different beers on tap and has pretty good food!
I am enjoying your videos, Gabriel! You are in my one of my favorite countries. About beers: Stouts are my favorite alongside blondes and Indian pale ales. 🍺cheers, you are going to love Cêsky Krumlov.
So you were able to find a train fro. Karlovy to plzen? I have been searching online but nothing comes up. I'm just hoping they are nor already sold out due to tourism
If you come to Latvia, try "Labietis" breewery pub, they have 70 different beers; usualy, 15 or 25 are at the bars and they change them regularly. :) one is located in the central market (zepelin hangars)
No,právě a to je špatně!
Weird to see an Australian-style pie place - Skip Pie - in a provincial Central European city. Even in capital cities with large Australian diaspora populations you don't see many Aussie meat pie restaurants.👍
I would recommend ,while in Ceske Budejovice ,to take , at least, a little walk around .It's a nice town with a great main square and a lot of brewpubs .

How come you never have problems with the toilets when you travel all day and walk around all day? Do you stop at coffee shops and restaurants or only use public restrooms?
So much cleaner there than in Germany, where especially around trainstations you feel meanhwile like you are in Afghanistan, Palestine or Iraq, thanks to politicians who were actually voted by people. Everywhere potential stabbers, rubbish, homeless ppl, drugdealers, dangerzones for woman etc. And the synagoge in Pilsen is not protected by police, whereas in Germany it is impossible because of innumerable potential terrorists. My 2nd favorite city in CR and home of the mothership. Shame you were a week early. The liberation festival starts May 3.
Yes what a great looking city.
Really looking forward to the Greek adventure Gabe. Any new islands on your radar?
Yes, planning to go to mostly new places.
The song in the beginning gets me emotional.
Me too❤❤❤❤❤
Come to Slovakia and visit some castles. Weather is getting better next week. Drink a beer at the boat brewery.
Putin loves Slovaki
Will you head to Brno in the south of CZ? It's worth a brief stop if you're heading into Slovakia 🇸🇰
The Tour was amazing when I took it in 2018 so was old town
Enjoy “pivo” Gabriel! Greetings from LA!
6:56 Beautiful Pilsen Receptionist!!!
She should have had a bigger role in this video.
Love he thank you monument to America.
I was surprised how clean and historical the cities are. The expansive plazas and cathedrals look inviting and safe.
I am enjoying your videos, Gabriel! You are in my one of my favorite countries. About beers: Stouts are my favorite alongside blondes and Indian pale ales. 🍺cheers, you are going to love Cêsky Krumlov.
Very beautiful city, and clean
No homeless on every street 😮
I'm livin in Pilsen and there's lot of homeless. Especially in Train Station (3:30 in video). Lot of junkies there + needles on the ground.
You have arrived! I can't visit the brewery because I wouldn't be able to leave! There is beer, and then there is Pilsner 🍺🍺🍻🍻
Blasphemy! Pilsner Urquell is my all time favorite beer. Good stuff. 👍
Cheers. 🍺✌️
I prefer Budvar
So you were able to find a train fro. Karlovy to plzen? I have been searching online but nothing comes up. I'm just hoping they are nor already sold out due to tourism
If you come to Latvia, try "Labietis" breewery pub, they have 70 different beers; usualy, 15 or 25 are at the bars and they change them regularly. :) one is located in the central market (zepelin hangars)
No,právě a to je špatně!
You could go to Slovakia and then Greece, Aegean and Ryanair both have direct flights from Bratislava over there.
Weird to see an Australian-style pie place - Skip Pie - in a provincial Central European city. Even in capital cities with large Australian diaspora populations you don't see many Aussie meat pie restaurants.👍
Amazing video. Thank you for sharing. 👍798
I think you don’t need to go to Greece. Next week can be warmer weather will come Czechs, Slovakia and Austria
❤❤❤❤❤❤
I would recommend ,while in Ceske Budejovice ,to take , at least, a little walk around .It's a nice town with a great main square and a lot of brewpubs .
hello Gabriel. you should consider a visit to Maastricht-Kologne-Liege … very old city’s .. the Kologne catherdal “the Dom” is unmatched.. Maastricht is also very nice and real good food! and in a heartbeat you are in Luxembourg / France
greetz fr Holland
I've been to Maastricht actually, it was the first town I ever went to in the Netherlands, on my trip in 1990. I was visiting a friend in Germany and we went there for a day trip.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos 34 yrs ago .. yes time flies! have a nice one and be safe .. so we can continue watching your travels! grtz
You have the same interests in beer that I have. I never enjoyed pilsners or IPAs. Some of my favorites are ales and ambers. 🤩
You may not know this, but hotels have to have your passport when you check in, so that they can register your stay with the police for foreigners. It is to catch wanted criminals.
Got it. 👍
Not only for foreigners, it's mandatory even for locals, no ID or passport = no stay in a hotel.
You need to show tour drivers license in the us too plus your credit card
@@IceGutsunlss you vote, you can do that with out Id.
When I was in Bulgaria the hotel holding my passport was traveler eye opener
If you don't take too long in Czechia, Greek Easter is on May 4th! Best time to visit :)
Hello Gabriel I am not a big fan of pilsner beer either but I would say that Pilsner Urquell is one of the best pilsner beers that I have tried.
Pilsner is my favorite
Wake up to snow this morning getting up for work. 100 km south of Stockholm.
Wow, crazy. It warmed up today here, hopefully you'll get some of the warmer spring weather soon.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos There is weather news about monday-tuesday (29-30 april), that we will get 15-20 degrees celsius. looking forward to that. What is even worse is that there hasn't been many hours of sunshine either since I came back from central America in late february. 🙂
@@TheSwede70 Excellent. It's a beautiful sunny day here today.
Good for you when travelling and making videos. The weather is much more important when I travel than here at home. Grey and cold today too. The longer days is a positive this time of the year.
Those pies looked so good 😋
Dude... you didn't have a Pilsner Urquell in Pilsner :(( still love you♥buit dude...I'd chew off my arm to visit the factory and have a freshly poured beer X
He told his reasons why he didn’t take a beer there.
But on the upside today I had a Budvar in Cesky Budejovice, the original home of Budweiser.
I think he said he doesn't like pilsner style beers.
Gabe doesn't like Pilsner Urquell.
Not to everyone's taste. I've been to Belgium many times, but I hate Stella artois
Would love to have a Budvar in Ceske Budejovice, taught English to Czech students for many years and grew to love the people, food/beer and culture. Thank you for taking time to reply, I respect not everyone likes Pilsner style beer, sorry to be a negative Nancy. Love and light ♥️
Česke Budejovice in German Budweis. That’s where authentic Budweiser beer originates from.
That’s a really good tasting beer 🍺
Oh Gabriel you should have visited Kutná Hora too.
look at the receptionist.she looks like a model
Czech girls
8:49 draught beer always tastes better than the cans
Definitely true.
How come you never have problems with the toilets when you travel all day and walk around all day? Do you stop at coffee shops and restaurants or only use public restrooms?
Good question😂😂😂😂😂😂
Need to get back to Europe... Cheers from Texas.
Grab a ticket and go, Isaac. Less talk, more action fella.
Hopefully Czech Republic will not change.
Sorrry to hear that but not surprising.
@Deadfoot-Dan yes, for intelligent people with a brain it's understandable...
Where else can you change into long underwear while travelling! Could be a vlog by itself!
Привет 🙋🏼♂️🧇🫖☕️ Замечательное видео 🔝👍🏻 📹 🙂 ✅️
In the top ten!😂
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love IPA’s. I enjoy most beers except porters. I don’t want my beer tasting like coffee, because I don’t even like coffee.
In almost every Czech city you will find a square with a historical core.
I gave up climbing hundreds of stairs to get a five-minute view of the surroundings only to turn around and walk back down.
👍👍👍
Amazes me that most of these things survived WW II
Lots of those are rebuilt, place was decimated in war
Gabriel, there is a really good website about the trains in Europe. Maybe you already know about it though. It's called seat 61.
How about a trip to Denmark?
Danish chicks are hot
