  • We are lucky enough to be running a IEE drive by wire kit for the RB26 individual throttle bodies ITBs setup on the RB28.
    In this video Stefen Etter (the man behind IEE) gives us a run down on what his drive by wire kit contains, and I set it up on the RB28 with a Haltech Elite 2500 ECU.

    8:28 Cool benefit of going to DBW in a drift application is the ability to do legit anti-lag (where it injects fuel off throttle to keep the turbo spooled.) Just gotta soften it up in the tune since pops, bangs and flames introduce a lean condition along with shock loading and imbalance.

    10:28 hey it's me again. Last time, I mentioned about the connection from the electric motor to the Haltech, did you just run a deusch connection from the motor into the harness? Stefan says on his website the Haltech doesn't have enough voltage to do it on it's own without the motec DHB

    Hey man what's the go with deleting the iac valve? And what fuel rail did you use?

    hey Zac, this is off topic but, any particular reason you went with the os giken timing gears? specifically, do they have any advantage over the other offerings out there?

    What if you want to rev the engine while your in the engine bay? Cab the throttle still be actuated by hand or is there a button/lever with a potentiometer?

    • @ZPDrift
      @ZPDrift  2 роки тому

      Yeah - can't rev it when in neutral via a cable, need to have the throttle pedal all setup etc.

    DBW is far superior in every aspect and has many benefits, even more than you covered but my question is Are the benefits of ITBs worth the difficulties tuning the motor.

    • @ZPDrift
      @ZPDrift  3 роки тому +2

      Any good tuner should be good to tune either ITB's or single throttle . I personally don't think the hurdle of tuning difficulty should be a considered a problem

    Americans wont like it but if you do a carburetor and distributor conversion they would be all over it!!! Tdp.ie had the same kinda setup done years ago on an rb28 same m5 throttle motor

    Worried about the engine sitting on the limiter but not worried about the damaging effects of antilag? ...

    • @ZPDrift
      @ZPDrift  3 роки тому +1

      Main issue is that the head still has shims under the buckets, which if the rev limiter is harsh at high RPM it'll possibly spit them out and then other issues happen. Antilag really would be only for lower RPM , where the likelihood of spitting a shim even with the explosions happening in the exhaust manifold - would be substantially less. I'm not too concerned about anit-lag issues versus spitting a shim at high RPM would could be catastrophic
