I only found them in 2015/16. It was a really hard time in my life , I lost my job in nhs due to ill health . I had no choice but to get up , get on with it and I joined an agency . On my way to interview I heard Alive and I was filled with hope for future and thought I can do this I don’t need the trust I’d worked for for 18 years … I was Alive . Got album on Spotify and I honestly can say it lifted me up so much that I knew I’d be ok ! Six years later I’m working back in nhs at a much nicer and compassionate trust and happier than I ever was !!! Thanks empire ❤️

Hi everyone I am a painter and have found I listen to them every day when I am painting. And "YES" they are addictive. Playing them in my head when I don't have them playing on my computer. I also love them as they are Australian like me. Sad they broke up but still following Luke Steele's solo career. What a voice. And Nick Littlemore is just breaking ground working with others e.g. Elton John. Good Luck to both of these guys. Hope one day they get back together as they are just magic!!!!!!!
They did a 'reunion' tour this past Jan/Feb back home (Sydney, Brisbane, Perth??, etc)... like, '10 years on' style. Would be fun to see them collaborate again, though. For sure. They may both be just too evolved in their separate paths/musical endeavors to do so... Complex-ish dudes w/ the right combo of creativity; harnessed pop sounds at the right time and put enough of their own stamp on it to make it feel sorta non-'mainstream'. At least for a Yank listener lime me who stumbled across them on YT by accident 8-10 years back...
For me the music is amazing…paired with the equally amazing visual concepts leads me to believe Like Steel is an under-appreciated musical icon 🙏🏼📞👩🏻🎨🧑🏼🚀🤓
