    I don't understand how the US expects Ukraine to fight a war with Russia with one hand tied behind its back.

    A Russian mobilisation can only be effective in taking Ukrainian territory if the mobilised troops have the equipment they need to conduct offensive operations. Throwing half a million men armed only with Kalashnikov’s into the teeth of a Ukrainian firestorm will not bring significant results. With every month that passes from this point on the AFU will be become more effective, meanwhile the paucity of Russian mechanised equipment becomes more evident. Charging Ukrainian lines in buggies rather than APVs can only be a preference borne of necessity. Putin only ever doubles down, but this misadventure is going nowhere.

    Appreciate the update JP. Awesome the allies are continuing to ramp up armament support for Ukraine. This puts that much more pressure on russia to keep producing-while depleting their national wealth fund at an expedited rate. The russian losses Ukraine is inflicting while ceding small bits of land is not sustainable for russia. Ukraine just cannot allow any “breakthrough” while inflicting these losses. Also Ukraine could not inflict these catastrophic losses if they were on the offensive.

    I believe anti-aircraft weapons should be able to engage RU aircraft wherever they're found.
    I also believe Western advisors and technicians assist in targeting for long range weapons, which could be interpreted as the West attacking RU, which possibly be seen as escalation 🤔

    The Caesar, Archer and PZH2000 are all quite similar in performance and accuracy though they each have advantages relative to each other. For example, Caesar trumps in mobility, Archer and PZH2K in automation, and also the PZH2K can fire on the move. The biggest draw for the Caesar though is price: you get 2.5-3 Caesars for the price of 1 archer, and 3-4 Caesars for the price of 1 PZH2K. Add to that ease of use, easier maintenance and lower maintenance costs for the Caesar because it is based on a commercial truck chassis.
    For the SAMP/T vs Patriot, both are excellent. It seems SAMP/T has a slight edge in interception capabilities while the Patriot has the advantage of a higher ceiling and range.

    RC guns on drones are a flawed idea! The weight & kickback requires a large drone & they are noisy!!! So lack stealth to sneak up!
    Drones with directional short range jammers can bring down Orc drones efficiently!!! Or block the senders signal so they can be hijacked!!!

    Even if russia does mobilise another 20 brigades (roughly 120k troops i think), what are they going to equip them with? After 2 years of heavy equipment losses, they wouldnt have enough vehicles and heavy weaponry left over to completely equip those extra troops plus have enough for all their other requirements

    The old Israeli patriot systems not being in Ukraine right now is how we know Netanyahu is a Russian asset.
    Israel should join the free world and send them to Ukraine now. If not, one of the western country needs to buy them for Ukraine.
    Worst case, all aid to Israel should end until these systems enter Ukraine. Israel can be an ally if they choose but no one wants to protect them if they refuse to help the rest of us when were in danger.

    Jonathan.... Further interesting details about Iran's helicopter crash that killed its President Raisi. Apparently the transponder on the chopper was either turned off or not available. Odd that the President's chopper would have no transponder. The two escort choppers arrived safely at their destination. Apparently they were not in contact with the chopper they were escorting and simply left it behind, without knowing where it was ? Very odd and quite unusual. We would have expected that they would have kept in constant contact with the chopper they were escorting, and should have known its status and location at all times. At least that would be a normal expectation. That they had no idea where they lost it and no idea where it ended up seems unreasonable, despite the weather. Of course that increases the suspiciions as to foul play being involved. As those suspicions increase, as facts come forward, we would expect that those who replace the deceased will be far more "hard line" and more militant. Keeping in mind that Iran's economy has been in deep trouble, during Raisi's tenure in office. Does that mean the new regime will piursue even more arms deals with Iran's armaments customers ? Particularly Russia ? Little doubt about that. Does it mean that Iran will increase its material support of militant groups wherever and whenver it has any opportunity ? We assume that is part of how the Iranian regime is going to shape its future. Does it mean Iran will covertly and aggressively pursue a nuclear weapons program ? Likely with Russian and perhaps Chinese providence ? Very probably exactly that. Iran has been made such a pariah, already, that it likely believes it has nothing to lose and potentially everything to gain by pursuing further development and expansion of all of its weapons programs, and that likely includes conventional, nuclear, biological and chemical weapons.

      The head of the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog warned Tuesday that Iran is “not entirely transparent” regarding its atomic program, particularly after an official who once led Tehran’s program announced the Islamic Republic has all the pieces for a weapon “in our hands.”

    I couldn’t care less about being right or wrong. I’m just trying to let you know that her position on this particular topic is a relatively mainstream view here in The US because the idea of cancelling elections / postponing them is foreign to us.
    I know the UK didn’t have them for ten years. That’s the point and one of many reasons why so many Americans are Euroskeptical and find lectures about “democracy” & “authoritarianism” from europeans laughable. Any “democracy” that can put off elections whenever it becomes inconvenient is hardly a democracy at all.
    That’s not to belittle Britain either as you are clearly a cut above the rest of Europe on topics like these (which further highlights the point).
    I felt like I did address the point about the country being occupied and that not being an excuse whatsoever. As I mentioned previously, The US held elections during The Civil War while half the country was “occupied” / in rebellion and many of the congressional delegates being elected actively wanted to give the south their nationhood.
    That is the standard we are talking about. Realizing that elections are even more important because of the war instead of looking for excuses. If the people want Zelensky and his government then he should welcome elections anyways to provide himself more legitimacy.

    • @ATPGeo
      @ATPGeo  12 днів тому +1

      "whenever it becomes inconvenient" is such a massive oversimplification. Goodness. It's ok for you to say this when you have never been invaded and I've never likely to be invaded due to geographical positioning. You appeared to have ignored every single argument on this topic that I have presented in my comments! I might have to do a whole video on this.

    • @ATPGeo
      @ATPGeo  12 днів тому +1

      Rather incredible that you are giving lectures on how to do democracy and referring that to a time when women or black people couldn't vote. The subsequent 14th and 15th amendments were a challenge to get enacted.
      Furthermore, the states in rebellion did not participate in the election of 1864. Indeed, only twenty-five states participated in the election. So the election covered only half of the country. And no women or black people.
      And there was relatively little disruption to the mechanics of voting in the Union States, remembering that all the other States did not vote, compared to the UK in the second world war where voting was just completely impractical, with soldiers fighting all the way over in Burma and elsewhere around the world.
      To hold this example up as some amazing democracy and the UK being some sort of democratic failure for not doing so is completely unfair given that the differences are so vast. Again, demanding Ukraine Holden election in the middle of being invaded is unconstitutional, completely impractical, and would be counterproductive for their war efforts and downright dangerous for voters.

    • @ATPGeo
      @ATPGeo  12 днів тому +1

      Furthermore, the cost of running the presidential election alone in 2020 was estimated to be about 4 billion dollars. Scale that down to the size of the country that Ukraine is in comparison and then scale it up for the extra costs of doing it during the war and you have an awful lot of money that can be spent on defending the country that won't be.
      All that time and effort that is put into running an entire national election in terms of man hours would be taken out of all the time and effort those people would be putting into defending the country and organizing that defense politically or practically.

    • @ATPGeo
      @ATPGeo  12 днів тому +1

      I also find it really problematic that you are trying to claim the high ground on democracy here while supporting a president who has tried to and continues to try to overturn democratic elections and processes. It's pretty staggering!
