- Okay, we have a problem we have had a herron flying over the house.
It’s not come down into the garden as of yet, let hope it just a fly by and that’s is
But I need to stop it getting to my fish
They are a protected bird so just want it to go somewhere else I will not hurt it.
So in the video I’ll show you how I’m going to do this is a very friendly way.
if you know of any other ways please let me know
Also what’s next in the garden my girls are getting older and we feel the garden has done it job for they with the age they are at so it’s time for a change. Time for a re think of what to do
So come along and join me in this next part.

Looking forward to see what you do to the garden!
Hey Stuart, immersed in my own pond project for last year or so, came across your channel & really liked what you’ve done. A pesky heron is trying to take my koi. I’ve been told suspended visible rope from one pole to another six feet or so over the water deters them from landing. Have you heard anything on this. Subscribed from Wales😊
@@jasoncraig606 hi that’s a new one to me! I’m pleased you have found my channel and it helped you. Will definitely look into this and see what I can find.
On a different topic my wife said tonight she wants to come to wales on holiday in our caravan strange!
Keep up with the koi and pond it’s well worth it.
I tried the fishing line but didn't stop it, tried a flexible green mesh 1m fence all round again just jumped over into the water shallows . Plastic heron didn't stop it as you said and flapping bits of coloured tape on sticks no effect. Had no choice but to use heavy duty large hole (5-6inch wide)netting over top of 1m fence and even that it landed on several times before it gave up but again has come back again months later to try again and thankfully failed so they are very persistent. Not overly happy with the way the pond looks with the netting and makes access more awkward but fish are safe for now.
@@mrmadborg they are most definitely persistent, I’ve not seen it again, with our own cats around and generally people about early .530 this morning coffee by the pond was beautiful.
So hopefully I’m safe for now
Like you nets on ponds don’t look the best but the fish are safe and that’s what matters
