Zila Khan is an ace Indian sufi singer who sings classical and semi-classical musical forms. She performs in the tradition of Imdadkhani Gharana. Zila Khan was accepted as her father's disciple at a young age where she practiced fourteen to sixteen hours a day in different time periods and mastered all his compositions. She is the first woman in her gharana to learn and perform music.

I was blessed to have met Ustad Vilayat Khan Sahib, talked to him, listened to him. I also know his son Shujat Hussain Khan. Zila has a unique voice... perhaps not good by bollywood standards. But she is passionate about India, about serving India and serving folks with disabilities... I never met her but I salute her. In a man's world, she has managed to do what makes her happy... Love you Zila...
