lorde said in an interview once that she thought lana’s music was a bad influence on young girls. “but I listened to that Lana Del Rey record and the whole time I was just thinking it’s so unhealthy for young girls to be listening to, you know: ‘I’m nothing without you.’” And this was after she had said her song ‘royals’ was heavily influenced by lana. plus at the time lorde was getting so much attention and acclaim for the style of music she was making while lana was being criticized a lot. I like both of their music, but lana is superior 🤷♀️

Here's some context -Lana refused to take pics with that guy because it was after the metgala and she had already taken pictures with him besides that guy also actively goes after celebrities to get pictures and stuff. -Lorde and Lana had beef a while back because Lorde said she was a bad for young girls and Lana's dad proceeded to tweet "almost as bad as pure heroine" or something of the sort (pure heroine is the name of Lorde's first album)
i think the problem with lorde wasn’t that she copied her or was influenced by her it’s the fact that she was but she also talked shit about lana’s music
Lana was sued for copyright by radiohead for her song get free. Honestly, theres some similarities but it could have easily been an accident, she made the song completely her own. One of the better tracks on Lust for Life. You should check it out.
so sad they didnt show the azealia banks beef , lana literally told azealia banks to " you know the addy pull up if you dare but if i were you i wouldnt " or something
Lorde did not copy Lana at all. People just say that because Lana and Lorde now have the same producer and people can't seem to accept that. I think the "beef" between lana and lorde was so funny to begin with because lorde was a teenager (15-17) at the time of her rise to fame, and was known for publicly shitting on any celeb she didn't like. I guess the people on the bad end of that got upset, but then again it shouldn't have been as big as a deal.
nah, she did copy her style and people said that from the beginning. lana paved the way for that type of music in the mainstream. but the thing with lorde is that she was influenced by lana and then went on to trash talk her to the press.
teen lorde did talk shit about lana's music and called it not good for young girls. but i guess lana was more upset 'cause lorde was getting acclaimed for making same kind of music after her while she was being heavily criticized by everyone. anyway they seem to have move past that.
@@buttcheeksguy Yes, there was one song off of her first record that she explicitly said was influenced by Lana, but other than that, their sound and writing styles were very different. Now as for Lorde's most previous album....that's a whole new story. That's something I would say is heavily lana-inspired

do part 1 it’s funnier. but lana on twitter was hilarious especially when she was dragging azelia banks
The copyright lawsuit was Radiohead suing her because her song “Get Free” resembled “Creep”. IMHO it totally does but she won the lawsuit haha
Lord very publicly dissed Lana's music for being unhealthy for young girls. A lot of people really miss the point of Lana's music and art.
