Clock wall stop after work many years. Battery quartz clock good, but clock still stop working.
First
Main problem battery after your quartz clock run many many years
Usually socket / connector battery dirty, and you can clean easy.
Or battery power drop, need replace with new one.
Second
But the other case and how to fix clock wall machine.
Connector power quartz clock machine may be problem too.
How to check socket connector power battery to clock wall.
Clock wall machine made by plastic, and not bolt or nut.
Open cover clock machine, and check below coil.
Usually connector clock power and battery below this cover
Add the battery, and press socket
If work, you can repair socket spring connector from coil and clock battery.
Third
No idea, may be coil or motor mechanic quartz death.
You need replace with new clock machine
Tips before open clock wall machine
1. Dont break anything, plastick cover, plastic gear clock etc
2. Remember any place of gear.
3. Put caution with clockwork component
Please open very carefull. One crack, your watch done.
Found a small bit of corrosion on the battery contact area on the circuit board. Cleaned it up and the clock works again. THANK YOU for taking the time to post this video, I prefer to fix things rather than replace them. :)

Great video, my Westclox had the corrosion on the circuit board terminal. Cleaned it with fine Emery paper. Good as new, working perfectly. Quite an easy fix if you take some photos as you go along.👍

My wall clock runs when it is placed on flat surface. As soon as I hang it back up vertically, it stops. I have replaced it with a new battery and it behaves the same. Any advice to trouble-shoot it please?

If it still rings, but the clock doesn't turn

Check the battery, replace with new battery
Check the socket battery, may be dirty. Almost case from there.
Check the machine watch quartz. But this the last option, may be machine fail and stop working
