Awesome vid! Wish my council had collections like that, we still only have 2 bins, 5 seems the way to go

Do you know what the frequency is of collecting the blue and the yellow bins?

The blue and yellow lidded bins get collected fortnightly on the same week, on the alternate week green-waste gets collected.

in my contract they have some like this but with newer ivecos as the chassis they are. 80,82,83,84,85,86. 81 is a rl 87 is a r l and 88-92 are buchers.

It's been a while we're all grown up now. Lol I remember continuously watching the green waste collection videos you have in Ku-Ring-Gai. Do those 360 Ssi's still cover the streets on collection day or have they been replaced with local Aussie 360's? Love the dying beeper haha.

Yep those 360Ls are still all over the place, although as far as I know the new bins they deliver are Sulo make.

There's something I've always liked about these raised floor Raptors, probably just the monstrous height. The lifter looks to be the same size as the single-pass ones.Speaking of which, are these trucks older then the old Warringah ones?
Was there any particular reason why they were designed like with the raised floors? Reduced glass breakage/material distribution? I noted that the old Hurstville trucks were designed the same.
I never understood why they went to the trouble of changing the lids around. The old paper bins were yellow, so why not convert them to the new bottle bins and just put blue lids on the old bottle bins and convert them to paper bins? Seems a bit counterproductive...
Top video mate, I also sent you two reply emails if you haven't already seen them. :)

They are definitely big these trucks, quite a different look from the newer models where the hopper always sits low. I guess we don't see this version often so they're cool in that respect too. I've compared pictures of the lifters in the past and they seem to be about the same, only that the single pass ones have the longer frame everything sits on as they need to mount the arms closer to the chassis. These trucks were built a little after the Warringah ones were. I'm honestly not entirely sure why they designed it like this, but it was possibly just how they originally set-up their big bodied side loaders. Glass breakage isn't really an issue, because it's the same size hopper so the fall from top to bottom is no different. I imagine distribution would be different seeing that it feeds the body higher than normal, but I imagine feeding it from the bottom is more ideal. Good thing about the new models vs this design (and even the MJE recyclers), is that with the hopper and lifter lower at standard height, you have more clearance from trees and power lines when swinging bins into the hopper. Yeh you raise a good point about the lid changes - lots of money and effort which could've been saved.
