Actually , you guys shuold know that he used TAS = Tool assisted speedrun to play game in the special way , speed up Zero to use C.saber faster than normal people just use dash and C.saber ( he used dash and C.SAber also but he used with TAS to speed it up ) , by the way , read more the infomation below the video ~.~

I think Zero had some caliberations done on his legs, thus he was skipping (the entire time) to warm them up and get used to the adjustments.
And he was fully adjusted when Sigma was defeated.

joietyfull64 Techically it is, but that would require tons of practice, and luck to get it right. It's still techically possible
Technically actually not because first it's impossible anatomically (humans can't move their fingers in a speed to control each frame) and 2nd I doubt that controllers/consoles enable frame-exact input (I'd guess there is always a minimum delay which the system needs to notice that the button state has changed, maybe due to suspension but one would need to film this with a fast camera to be sure). TAS is the quantum physics of gaming, its laws aren't applicable on classical video game physics in reality.

Description also mentions that he's using "luck manipulation" - I'll explain.
Suppose in a tunnel, a large enemy appears either next to the ceiling or on the floor.at random. It's faster to get by him if he's on the ceiling, you can just dash under.
If the TAS player gets to this point and the enemy is in his way, he can rewind the emulation, and see if the game makes a different decision the second time.
When he gets the result he wants, that's what gets put in the final run.

Attack and then dash repeatedly. This is a TAS so it's executed as fast as possible. A human would be much slower

Really though! After all those years of playing this game and I didn't know that, I always waited for it to jump and then use Raijingeki on it :O
He jumped, did the air slashing move which caused many different damages, double jumped, did the attacks again, caused swift kill.
Taking health does eat up a bit of time, especially the full-health capsules.
Plus when you can manipulate the game so you can do multiple slashes in a few seconds to the boss, it's not really necessary.
When I play as X, I could finish X4 in 38 minutes. But you, you're a lot better.

It's the invincible frame, when you touch the monsters, your body will blink for a short time and during that short time, you don't take any damage, even the spikes

Holding the dash button down constantly while lightly tapping jump will do that. You can do it on walls, the concept is the same. Holding dash on walls is God Mode. >_>

TAS=tool assisted speed run. its basically a playthrough with the ultimate objective of getting through the game as fast as possible, exploiting glitches and slowing the game down so that every single movement is perfect.

Well, putting soul and heart into a game means more than just voices and cut scenes, take the Mother series for example, but I agree that X4 did add a new level of depth to the plot and characters. But I've always found all of the games to hold some kind of great story. I grew up with X as the character I looked up to. (Especially later on when we see his character better in MHX and Day of Sigma).
It's called "Quick Kill". Web spider drops invincibility while in the treetops abouyt to come back down. If you get good positioning you can kill him before he even drops.

Not sure if you are joking, but he is actually playing at a super slow speed with savestates, then the video is sped back up to normal speed.
Nobody who makes tool assisted speedruns say they are doing it legit.
It's just to see how fast the game could be completed and shows off anything you can exploit in game to make the run that much faster.

there should be a new type of run called "enemy speed run" where you have to kill all the enemies. for games that regenerate, you just have to kill the enemies at least once

Because you could play it as two different styles and it was the first MMX for PS2, so the sprites were much better than the SNES and PS1 ones.
