I was hoping that, if they did this, that it would be like wedge and it wouldn't be too sharp. Because the element parts (metal _, rubber _, etc) are some of my favorites in the series. But metal sharp bits are so easy to ruin stadiums.
I'll give some credit to TT for making Shinobi lighter because ninjas are supposed to be light-weight and quiet. However, making the avatar a Defense type is an odd choice for it.

That being said, here’s a question for someone who is good at physics. If a defense type is a good amount heavier (maybe 3-5 grams or whatever is minimum required to be able to tank smaller to medium hits) than attack types, is it possible for the lighter attack type to win if a decent amount due to velocity and momentum to make up the weight difference (especially with the extreme dash)?
@@Frankie1622 Not really, the attack bey would have to be ever so slightly lighter or the same weight in order to KO the other reliably. The speed they get with the X dash isn't enough to push them out if they are too light. Even if you use upper attack there is a slightly higher chance of a win but it would have to be a really precise hit and if it doesn't KO you're screwed because your stamina is dead with one big hit because of the difference in height making the lighter bey receive more recoil. With that being said, if the difference is not too great to where big hits still do damage, that would make the situation more of a 50/50, depending on how the beys are positioned, where they are in the stadium and if they have any tilt, and where they are tilting toward, specially with defence in X that tends to wobble a lot. If it's a straight hit I'd say attack wins cuz sharp doesn't have grip and gets KO'd, but if the defence bey is tilted it may hit the floor and stop it's movement, at which point it most likely has more stamina than the attack bey. I didn't do any calculations but that's the hypothesis I got from just theory and a bit of play. (I think I made a terrible job explaining but there you go. xd)

@@zankye Luckily, I never had this issue with any Burn Fireblaze/Burn Phoenix I ever owned, but that's either due to the tips I get being slightly worn out, I got good luck with my Hasbro Stadiums (somehow), or most likely cause I've so so only used the kinda shitty Hasbro Launchers for ALL of my Metal Fight Beys due to me getting into Beyblade in 2011 (Metal Masters) and Hasbro not really releasing any String Launchers past Metal Fusion.
I feel like Shinobi makes more sense as a Balance type due to how light it is, the 1 sided Ratchet, and a Stamina Bit. Seems more accurate than "Defense".
Everyone calls Needle a Stamina Type bit, even though it's apparently supposed to be Defense Type this time around... I do wonder why. I can only assume the design philosophy of each type is Beyblade X is the main reason...
@FieraDevilWings Needle bits are defence bits because they're meant to keep the bey in the center of the stadium at all times. Ball bits are stamina bits because they're meant to keep the bey standing upright, taking life after death into consideration.

Like for example, Thermal Lacerta had a HF Tip like Lightning L-Drago which was an Attack Type, but because of everything else being kinda more like Stamina (especially the Fusion Wheel Thermal), it's considered a Balance Type. Same goes for Earth Eagle which could flip between Stamina and Defense type due to Earth, 145, and WD all being used for Stamina and Defense type Beys, but for that reason, it's a Balance Type. I guess that's where my confusion is since both Burst and X has started with 3 parts compared to the 5 Metal Fight had for most of it's Beys.
A shame that every new part in this release isn’t viable, shinobi blade is too light for its own good, 1-80 is an awkward hight to have uneven weight distribution and seems easy to burst, and the bit is a stadium wrecker that i’m sure will see tournament bans like metal sharp did in MFB. Shame such a good looking combination can’t accomplish anything meaningful. Looking forward to the next upcoming releases though which look to really shake things up.
Honestly, the if nothing else the bit resistance for defense types should at least be half or a third the width of attack/balance types. The resistance defense/stamina types have should really just be made for stamina since their whole gimmick is to "avoid and dodge" to outlast the oppent. So they should have the least resistance. Even if they never make defense blades heavier, they should at least have more resistant bits
Kinda miffed I got the prize bey twice, I used the metal needle to test it but stopped using it after that due to the damage risk. Swapped it with Orb instead, the extra bey now acts as backup.
I wish they made more blade recolors that are not just one solid colors. Not that its bad, it can work but some are so bad it just didnt feel like they are trying much.
Once again rip a defense release. If I wasn't gonna skip it I'd mess around with it to see if anything works. There are two crackpot combos I thought of while watching but I'm pretty sure both would fly out/be very burst prone if anything so much as sneezes on it. I suppose one could think weight is because it released with metal needle but if that's the case they should have just altered MN's shape instead of capping a blade. If Black Shell does end up being real I'm going to be afraid for it. If X ends up having a limited format down the road maybe it'll shine there.

I don't love how they handled bursts in X so far. Zankye explains how the tips have a high burst resistance or low burst resistance and it can make it harder to turn the ratchet to burst depending on what you use, but more often than not Beys just "burst" from the tip popping off instead of the ratchet twisting off. you essentially have 2 ways to burst

Step one: lose metal needle Not even for content, no need to damage your equipment. I suspect having extra weight at the bottom center of a low resist bit will lead to more bit bursts anyway.
