Looks like there are more, and more, and more people moving to Queenstown all the time. More and more people, with fewer and fewer places to see. A bucket list item, to be sure. Eventually the bucket will be full, and the South Island will look like any other overpacked place in the world. Where shall we go then, Martha? I tripped around the south Island in late 1968, when the roads were still gravelled. I drove to the face of the Franz Josef glacier, (if memory serves) it was so foar down the valley. It was a wondrous and exciting place that existed on it's sheer remoteness, and granduer. And the people had a no8 wire philosophy that repaired, and kept most things running. Now, a new international airport is going to be built between Alexandra and Wanaka. Is there no end to this madness? 8billion people and only 10,000 places to see. Otago, they're comin' to see ya! And it ain't for the Highlanders.
