This is my third time on this one ( I use for physio ) !!!! I love the wondous texures and depth added, I think I could fill a book just on this theme ~ Thank you Lou and yes I would love to see a video on the duplication of the previous pattern that you did in triangles ! Wonderful !
Ooh, I'd never imagined the videos might help with physio!! So glad you like it. I'll have to go back and look to see if I did the triangle pattern, it's a few years ago now and I don't remember!
Hey thanks for sharing your ideas / techniques! I’m into automatic art myself, nice direct line to the subconscious. I notice I end up with certain shapes (thinking to try new stuff / get out of my comfort zone). I also agree with the challenges of long straight lines, they can stand out or lock me in with less options. I like your line work and the topics you discussed.
Automatic drawing is a technique used by the surrealist art movement in the early 20th century. I'm sure google will give you more information about it than I can!
Love the pattern. It's naturalistic, but also futuristic... great drawing!
Thank you!
Love this pattern within the circle…always like circle designs
Thank you, glad you liked it - you know I love circles too!
This would be perfect practice for dip pen nibs since i keep tripping over them!
Excellent piece…this is pen & ink to the next level…wonderful

Thanks, I do find it a helpful technique. I do find I repeat shapes all the time, but in different combinations the results can be quite diverse.
Fabulous tutorial, thank you.
You’re welcome 😊

No
I’m curious: how did you come up with the term “automatic” pattern drawing?
