This athletic style is like a racing car. How are you supposed to have good times when all the wheels are worn out, the tank is half full and the engine is sputtering? I suspect there is a lot of wear and tear on the skeleton and there are obviously enormous problems with coordination.
The driver is still in a good mood, has a lot of good ideas, sees a lot of possibilities. But everything just gives warning messages and your instinct becomes clear: you're on the defensive. He just seems to get nervous and desperately nibbles on his thumb. We haven't seen him win a race in 30 years and apparently this was the last one. Although we heard that before in 2005.

Anyone objective doesn't forget Mike was pushing the 'I'm an animal again' ALL throughout the promotion ; ) The guy had a medical emergency (which postponed his first fight) then after this fight was chatting shit about losing 25 lbs a month before due to illness and needing his bodyweight in blood transfusions, ffs (which should have been enough to cancel again!!). He even said he was doing 7000 rows (rowing machine) per day in the week before the fight - which is total BS seeing as he only managed 80 -odd punches! Face it.. Mike is 58 ... blagged everyone (along with Joke and all *behind this exhibition just sold as a real fight!* ) and pulled off the heist. I won't begrudge Mike the money but that stunt shit is dead for him now, lol.

Bullcrap. Mike AND him went 8-rounds just 4 short years ago and here he's trying to use the age factor, when the real fact is Mike was sick with a serious ulcer and had back and leg issues. It wasn't his stamina, it was his disordered condition and bad health.

Watching Mike Tyson in the ring reminded me of the movie Gladiator . At the end when Russell Crowe (Maximus) is in the Arena ,fighting with a punctured lung.
Mike looked injured, wasted, or both …. incredibly painful to watch! It felt completely wrong.
I’m happy Mike made millions of dollars, because this event was successful because of Mike Tyson! Mike was exploited by Jake Paul and I’m really surprised that you all the praising this! Integrity is for sale. First - and last event I’ll ever watch by Jake Paul.

I think Mike carried Jake by pretending to "Be oldER", and younger fighters smelled blood. Mike said "I'll finish Jake Paul"; meaning, exposing Jake's awful stance. Jake is good, but he's not great. Obviously a 80s, 90s Mike could destroy Jake in less than 1 round. I told the kids, "Just know Jake Paul is a hero to Future Frauds; not aspiring boxers". Zero mention of Current heavyweights, or boxers trying to come up "Old School Way". We all knew it was shit 8 months ago, and I think Netflix realized it and thus "Free Tyson Fight". *15% were there rooting for Fake, and he only landed 28%, and in the mini-Bursts from Mike, Jake was spared. Yet, the media asks Jake if HE Carried Mike. Jake isn't a true fighter; he's an entertainment expert, and needed Mike's aura to fool millions of kids into thinking defeating a retired legend was "Due to Skill". I'm smart enough to know better, and you are as well. *Mike did NOT want to fake it*.

    • @ChristopherWilliams-y7y
      @ChristopherWilliams-y7y 10 днів тому

*Not pretending, but proving how Easy it would be even at 58. I think Mike is laughing all the way. We all knew it was staged anyway. I see Andrew Tate is stepping up, as too are many fighters. Mike exposed Jake's horrible stance, and Jake missed those "bombs". Moving on...Jake would be wise to growing up. I was 27 once, and thought I could defeat life. *I suspect Mike's laughing all the way.

To be fair, I think the ulcer problem was the major issue. As Tyson said himself, he lost 25 pounds and lots of blood but since he didnt want the fight to be cancelled he definetely forced himself to quickly bulked up again and trained really hard but he's visibly looked much weaker and older since then. Just watch his videos prior to the the ulcer flare up, he didnt look much different than the Jones fight.
When the fight finally happened, something's clearly off with Mike condition which you can actually notice before he even entered the ring. He just looks tired before it even begin. Also, watch the footage when he met Holyfield and Lennox before the fight, Mike didnt look well at all.
Was the fight scripted? I dont think its scripted round by round but final result was definetely pre determined and Jake would be the winner.

THIS HURT MIKES KNEE. As a 51 year old, the position his knee went in, is a position I absolutely cannot do after having injured my knee several years ago hiking. This ruined Mikes night and made Jake not capitalize on his hero.

Something was off...because it was clearly rigged. Mike was never supposed to hit Jake. He laid multiple traps which Jake fell for. One left him wide open to R.hand and Mike almost threw it but pulled back. He did this multiple times. It was blatantly obvious. He landed that one hard jab in first round and then thought oops I better not. The knee brace was to hide the fact it was rigged.

I know many of you will say he’s 58 and he had a knee strap (which I think he put on for effect) you will say that he had all these health problems etc… but he could have postponed the fight if he was in such bad condition, fights get pushed back and re scheduled. Face it.. Mike is 58 ... blagged everyone (along with Joke) and pulled off the heist. I won't begrudge Mike the money but that stunt shit is dead for him now, lol.

A 58 year old man participated in a professional fight. That should never happen. How is he gonna properly train to take a hit without getting hit in sparring? How do you do the road running you need to do with a bad 58 year old knee? Mike looked great against pads, but that's not the same as reading reacting, eating a jab and avoiding the follow-up combo...then dip and return fire without legs.

what i found so weird, he did an interview, maybe a month before the fight, were he basically said, most people freeze under the bright lights, mike spoke so confidently about, "fear is my friend" and that he knows how to handle it under pressure, but from the walk out i could see something was off, he looked like he didn't wanna be there, and during the fight, the extreme biting of the gloves.....

Love hearing from Jones Jr on this, being a) one of the best boxers of all time, b) the last guy to fight Mike and c) a decent human being. I thought the same...something off here. Not sure what, but something off. Did 4yrs do that? Look at Mike vs Roy 4yrs ago, completely different. Injuries, time passing, physical/mental - who knows. The bottom line is the guy's 58 and has been out of the game for a long time. What did we expect here?

  • @christiangrabowski7603

The Athletic style relies on good coordination on offense. He realized this and that's why he got nervous and chewed his thumb. The arm looked thick after the fight, maybe some swelling. Maybe a reason too.
The danger of counterattacks is too great if perfect (!) coordination fails. Namely, his instincts told him to take advantage of the Peek A Boo's full defensive capabilities.
We never saw full combat sparring before the fight. We knew nothing about such coordination difficulties in the offensive.
We were promised a professional main fight, we haven't gotten an exhibition yet.
It was never a fair fight when the advantages belonged to one person and all the disadvantages belonged to the other. He still acts as if he spared Tyson, even though it shouldn't have taken place as a professional fight. Hard to imagine and as relaxed as he was that he didn't know.
On stage and at the press conference he even made bets about the outcome of the fight, even though he was in the ring himself.
Everyone doesn't care about the health of the legends. Whether it is the commission, the organizer, the opponent. Everyone just sees all the money.
The legend himself doesn't see the lack of fighting skills either.

Mike stumbled on the walk in which got my attention. Especially when he kind of looked nervous and a little agitated.. not in a good way. Roy's commentary was spot on. It was obvious something was wrong. The Mike that fought Roy would have beaten Jake.
I don't think 4 years makes that much difference. Something was off, I figured he hadn't recovered from the summer.

Tyson looked phenomenal against Roy Jones Jr and a lot of us thought that he would have built on that performance and come in looking even better. This is the era of stem cells and very advanced medical treatments all of which are available to Mike. Also, the Roy Jones fight was merely an exhibition and it was more than apparent that Mike Tyson was holding back quite a bit in that fight. Due to the above factors, Mike Tyson should have looked even better during this Jake Paul fight, four years time does not account for what is essentially a 90% decline in performance. Something was definitely off, maybe it just does boil down to a severe medical issue but nothing was right about this fight. Mike didn't even try, he literally looked like he was stumbling around drunk or high on something........ I would still bet my life right now a fully conditioned healthy Mike Tyson with that old killer instinct at 58 years old could beat Jake Paul. At the end of the day, his trainer should never work again because he is one of the only people who knew Mike Tyson belonged nowhere near that ring. Honestly I think Jake Paul was just as surprised by that pathetic performance as the rest of us and he deserves some credit for not hurting Mike, he went out of his way not to hurt him. Something's just not right about all of this.... One thing is for sure, Mike Tyson made damn sure he didn't win by accident by simply not even trying.

    I agree with Roy,
    Evander also mentioned Tysons
movement seemed off balance etc ...a leg issue and also,
Mike wearing only socks at weigh in where Jake who
was wearing runners intentionally stepped on Mikes toes .??
Mike with no mobility issues could knock out Jake and Logan
in the same match , knock out Jake and then have next round
continue with Logan . I would bet Tyson could knock both of them out within
8- 3 minute rounds , Tyson is the GOAT !!!!1

For me the two most likely reasons this fight went the way it did are (1) Mike Tyson has become a physical wreck and he hid that really well before the fight, or (2) Mike threw the fight right from the start.

For me it’s pretty clear. First, I’m no Mike Tyson worshipper. I never believed the hype that Tyson was going to “kill” JP. Tyson hasn’t killed anyone for decades. He’s lost a lot of fights to no name boxers at the end of his career. I thought and think JP had a legitimate chance. Having said that, it was very clear to me that something was wrong with Tyson from the very beginning. His walk to the ring was obviously shaky to me. He could barely walk. And when he started biting his gloves, that told me he was either in serious pain (from a previous injury) or extremely frustrated about something. I am convinced something was seriously wrong with Tyson prior to the fight

People need to go back and look at the size of Mike and look at his speed in his training videos. He didn’t suddenly forget how to box and how to move when he got in the ring. He was literally doing full sprints in his training.
