Mike wasn't healthy but showed up. His right leg was bad & he didn't look good. But Mike won because he showed up, did 8 rounds & made 20 million dollars. Jake also blessed Mike
tyson was in no conditionto be in a boxing ring hense the 2 minute rounds people have too much invested in Tyson he aint shit no more he werent shit in 2002 b=never mind now
@vincentvangogh8092 Yeah the majority on here seemed to forget just how badly Tyson's career ended when he was getting dropped and beat by handpicked journeymen that he was expected to beat. Dude's been completely washed for over 20 years. The idea of Tyson turning back the clock and beating a 27 year old Paul is laughable. I'm sure Tyson knew he most likely would lose, but the 20 mil payday was too much to turn down.
@vincentvangogh8092 I don't care about any of that. Mike early had multiple opportunities to knock Jake our. It was very clear they wanted to go the 8 with no knockouts for the money. I don't wanna hear anything 58 years old. Blah blah, blah. There was nothing wrong with Tyson. Yea he's older and not in his prime, but he would have knocked Jake out first round if he was trying
Say it Roy. You were right about the leg real quick, say looks like Mike was holding back. Biting the thumb was probably his reminder to do so. Love Mike. No matter what he is the Champ and the GOAT in my book, but something wasn't right with them both. Seems like it was, let's get paid and leave on our feet.
Gotta say this before I even watch the video: big up to ATS for doubling back to Roy (and hopefully Dre at some point) after the fight. I swear, I watch a lot of boxing sites and other shows where the hosts never do that and I'm always wishing they would. Thank you!😤
All the smoke invested in the right one Roy gives a straight physical as well as professional analysis of fights and just convo in general.God Bless, TriLL Time Live Over and Out.
Halfway in the first round Tyson turned gray and never regained color back. People keep saying its so sad I disagree he made $20 million dollars I would love the chance to make $20 million via embarrassing myself
Have the exact same feeling as Roy right after that match. During the walk down and presentation, Mike used to watch his opponent straight in the eyes all night long, but this time he was looking anxious or awared of something. Never saw Mike biting his gloves regularly neither. After the 1st clinch, everything turned weird.
Talk about Roy as well his speed and muscle twitch and skill was out of this world. But I think mike either backed down on purpose. Or a serious injury with his back
Am I the only person on this planet that saw Jake hit Mike and Mike go to push on his right (1:40 of 3rd round play video it’s about 1:36) knee for balance and it bent in awkwardly. THIS HURT MIKES KNEE. As a 51 year old, the position his knee went in, is a position I absolutely cannot do after having injured my knee several years ago hiking. This ruined Mikes night and made Jake not capitalize on his hero.
Something was off...because it was clearly rigged. Mike was never supposed to hit Jake. He laid multiple traps which Jake fell for. One left him wide open to R.hand and Mike almost threw it but pulled back. He did this multiple times. It was blatantly obvious. He landed that one hard jab in first round and then thought oops I better not. The knee brace was to hide the fact it was rigged.
In my opinion Mike Tyson was paid to not perform, he was paid to hold back. In my opinion there was clauses and he chose the money. I don’t blame him but i find it sad. I know many of you will say he’s 58 and he had a knee strap (which I think he put on for effect) you will say that he had all these health problems etc… but he could have postponed the fight if he was in such bad condition, fights get pushed back and re scheduled. To me it’s all excuses so that he could take a back seat and a pay day.
Couldn't agree more! 58 with health problems is way too old to be fighting even vs a clown and fake pro boxer! But with that all said, I agree with your conclusion 💯 It was a staged farce that they both were in agreement 🤝 with!
Poor comment. Anyone objective doesn't forget Mike was pushing the 'I'm an animal again' ALL throughout the promotion. The guy had a medical emergency (which postponed his first fight) then after this fight was chatting shit about losing 25 lbs a month before due to illness and needing his bodyweight in blood transfusions, ffs. Face it.. Mike is 58 ... blagged everyone (along with Joke) and pulled off the heist. I won't begrudge Mike the money but that stunt shit is dead for him now, lol.
He doesnt see tyson was holding back? you guys dont check the social media slowmotion footage?? Bad leg or not, he could have done some serious damage to paul
Exactly! Mike had him in the first ten seconds and he was intentionally not hitting his face. Jake’s guard was down, he wasn’t dodging or anything and he was running scared.
To me it looked like in the first round Mike layed off when he attacked Jake in first round and second. But then again maybe his legs just wouldn’t allow him to finish it. Not finish the fight but his punches
Nothing was off. If anything was off, it was Roy Jones looking like he just got up off the couch and came to the fight. Tyson showed speed, agility and endurance. It was Tyson who held back hence the glovebiting to remind himself not to hurt that little boy.
Very good point. Viewing hours is their biggest concern, then the reruns over & over, especially as most would. They are moving towards a YT comments, likes & suggestions… I would opt out of that. The Netflix & chill slogan will soon be over for a great %
A 58 year old man participated in a professional fight. That should never happen. How is he gonna properly train to take a hit without getting hit in sparring? How do you do the road running you need to do with a bad 58 year old knee? Mike looked great against pads, but that's not the same as reading reacting, eating a jab and avoiding the follow-up combo...then dip and return fire without legs.
He looked terrible and took an ass whooping. He almost got knocked out in the third round and was carried the rest of the fight. Lets be real... And told everyone that he wasn't going to lose
what i found so weird, he did an interview, maybe a month before the fight, were he basically said, most people freeze under the bright lights, mike spoke so confidently about, "fear is my friend" and that he knows how to handle it under pressure, but from the walk out i could see something was off, he looked like he didn't wanna be there, and during the fight, the extreme biting of the gloves.....
Love hearing from Jones Jr on this, being a) one of the best boxers of all time, b) the last guy to fight Mike and c) a decent human being. I thought the same...something off here. Not sure what, but something off. Did 4yrs do that? Look at Mike vs Roy 4yrs ago, completely different. Injuries, time passing, physical/mental - who knows. The bottom line is the guy's 58 and has been out of the game for a long time. What did we expect here?
The Athletic style relies on good coordination on offense. He realized this and that's why he got nervous and chewed his thumb. The arm looked thick after the fight, maybe some swelling. Maybe a reason too. The danger of counterattacks is too great if perfect (!) coordination fails. Namely, his instincts told him to take advantage of the Peek A Boo's full defensive capabilities. We never saw full combat sparring before the fight. We knew nothing about such coordination difficulties in the offensive. We were promised a professional main fight, we haven't gotten an exhibition yet. It was never a fair fight when the advantages belonged to one person and all the disadvantages belonged to the other. He still acts as if he spared Tyson, even though it shouldn't have taken place as a professional fight. Hard to imagine and as relaxed as he was that he didn't know. On stage and at the press conference he even made bets about the outcome of the fight, even though he was in the ring himself. Everyone doesn't care about the health of the legends. Whether it is the commission, the organizer, the opponent. Everyone just sees all the money. The legend himself doesn't see the lack of fighting skills either.
Roy is not only one of the best to ever do it, but also the most honest and real one. What must also be said is Jake Paul stayed away from him in the early rounds until he was gassed and could not move. It was a money grab!
its crazy if everything is true Mike was injured , other health issues, he is 58 , didnt fought for a long time , biting fixation and he may or may not had weed and shrooms before the fight 😮 ive watch the fight in slowmo , many of Mike's punches came very close to hit Jake , damn legs made a big difference in that huge ring i feel like mike will want to train his legs and try again Crazy life this man been tru
It’s simple, no need to speculate, ask Mr Tyson to rematch for real, just have someone to offer the money he is happy with, let Mr Tyson be free, and do what he does best
Mike stumbled on the walk in which got my attention. Especially when he kind of looked nervous and a little agitated.. not in a good way. Roy's commentary was spot on. It was obvious something was wrong. The Mike that fought Roy would have beaten Jake. I don't think 4 years makes that much difference. Something was off, I figured he hadn't recovered from the summer.
Jake is a businessman first. He’s using the boxing fraternity to rake in millions. He’s not serious about becoming a boxing champion. His next opponent may be I-speed. Nuff said.
What was off was his age. Holmes was 38 when he fought tyson everyone said tyson would slaughter him and he did. Tyson is 20years older than that age with several back knee and abdominal surgeries. Boxing should not sanction these events.
Tyson looked phenomenal against Roy Jones Jr and a lot of us thought that he would have built on that performance and come in looking even better. This is the era of stem cells and very advanced medical treatments all of which are available to Mike. Also, the Roy Jones fight was merely an exhibition and it was more than apparent that Mike Tyson was holding back quite a bit in that fight. Due to the above factors, Mike Tyson should have looked even better during this Jake Paul fight, four years time does not account for what is essentially a 90% decline in performance. Something was definitely off, maybe it just does boil down to a severe medical issue but nothing was right about this fight. Mike didn't even try, he literally looked like he was stumbling around drunk or high on something........ I would still bet my life right now a fully conditioned healthy Mike Tyson with that old killer instinct at 58 years old could beat Jake Paul. At the end of the day, his trainer should never work again because he is one of the only people who knew Mike Tyson belonged nowhere near that ring. Honestly I think Jake Paul was just as surprised by that pathetic performance as the rest of us and he deserves some credit for not hurting Mike, he went out of his way not to hurt him. Something's just not right about all of this.... One thing is for sure, Mike Tyson made damn sure he didn't win by accident by simply not even trying.
I agree with Roy, Evander also mentioned Tysons movement seemed off balance etc ...a leg issue and also, Mike wearing only socks at weigh in where Jake who was wearing runners intentionally stepped on Mikes toes .?? Mike with no mobility issues could knock out Jake and Logan in the same match , knock out Jake and then have next round continue with Logan . I would bet Tyson could knock both of them out within 8- 3 minute rounds , Tyson is the GOAT !!!!1
For me the two most likely reasons this fight went the way it did are (1) Mike Tyson has become a physical wreck and he hid that really well before the fight, or (2) Mike threw the fight right from the start.
For me it’s pretty clear. First, I’m no Mike Tyson worshipper. I never believed the hype that Tyson was going to “kill” JP. Tyson hasn’t killed anyone for decades. He’s lost a lot of fights to no name boxers at the end of his career. I thought and think JP had a legitimate chance. Having said that, it was very clear to me that something was wrong with Tyson from the very beginning. His walk to the ring was obviously shaky to me. He could barely walk. And when he started biting his gloves, that told me he was either in serious pain (from a previous injury) or extremely frustrated about something. I am convinced something was seriously wrong with Tyson prior to the fight
Plain and simple, Mike was not recovered from a serious health situation. It wasn't his age! A lot of people have no clue about what men over 60 or even 70 can do!
No lie something was off …way off. I don’t think it was rigged but Tyson def was moving different. I just think due to his age he was simply tired and fighting with a minor leg injury. Tyson knew this….hes just a beast literally.
I have seen Mike Tyson bite his gloves before and it's something he only does when he is frustrated or he feel he is losing the fight! He bit his glove in the Kevin McBride fight
Roy fought Mike 4 years ago. Of course Mike isn’t the same…. He is older and has more ailments. Also when Mike and Roy fought, Mike wasn’t in the ring with a 28 year old, he was in the ring with another old guy.
Tyson’s style along with RJJ, David Haye etc has never lent itself to longevity, short explosive bursts reliant on fast twitch muscles/ reflexes. Jones for instance imo went up the weights not only to achieve the accolades but to face slower fighters.
Exactly. They’re acting like people are stupid. Mike has 50-7 and 6 belts… was undefeated early in his career. People need to go back and look at the size of Mike and look at his speed in his training videos. He didn’t suddenly forget how to box and how to move when he got in the ring. He was literally doing full sprints in his training.
First vibes I got was that Mike looked frustrated about something. Nobody will ever know until he comes out and tells us the truth.

Mike wasn't healthy but showed up. His right leg was bad & he didn't look good. But Mike won because he showed up, did 8 rounds & made 20 million dollars. Jake also blessed Mike
It's rigged
@enigma533 I knew that I saw the contract😂
Obviously they weren't trying to hurt each other. Period. It's an insult to real boxing fans to insinuate in any way this was legit. Come on man.
The whole stadium picked up on that… That’s why they were booing!
Yeah they had a “gentleman’s agreement” not to go head hunting on each other.
tyson was in no conditionto be in a boxing ring hense the 2 minute rounds people have too much invested in Tyson he aint shit no more he werent shit in 2002 b=never mind now
@vincentvangogh8092 Yeah the majority on here seemed to forget just how badly Tyson's career ended when he was getting dropped and beat by handpicked journeymen that he was expected to beat.
Thank you!😤
20MIL IS 20MIL‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
I've seen enough clips of Mike holding back on counters on purpose, especially some very similar moments when he fought Roy at 54.
The GOAT Roy Jones Jr
But with that all said, I agree with your conclusion 💯
It was a staged farce that they both were in agreement 🤝 with!
Agree..ppl are so gullible. Roy probably knows but he cant come out and say that though.
Nope. Mike been wearing that knee brace few years now
Poor comment.
💯 % agree
Mike made that 20 mil, blew an ounce, and retired again. I see Jake didnt call out RJJ.
It was rigged man
i agree , you heard what Roy said HUMILIATION and embarrassment ( Masonic Humiliation ritual )
"HAD HE REALLY BEEN TRYING" says everything yall need to know
He took a dive
Anyone stop to think if the bout went the distance the viewership time would pay them more?
He should not have been in there at all. What was wrong was this fight happening and being sanctioned.
Watching that fight made me feel old. And that made me sad......
The paul brothers are shady and bizzare. They match what american society is today. Hence they are popular.
Legendary as always 🙌.
Thanks for those insights. Everything you said made so much sense.
Believe anything that RJJ tells you about boxing. If Roy tells you something was wrong, it was something wrong.
He looked terrible and took an ass whooping. He almost got knocked out in the third round and was carried the rest of the fight. Lets be real...
And told everyone that he wasn't going to lose
what i found so weird, he did an interview, maybe a month before the fight, were he basically said, most people freeze under the bright lights, mike spoke so confidently about, "fear is my friend" and that he knows how to handle it under pressure, but from the walk out i could see something was off, he looked like he didn't wanna be there, and during the fight, the extreme biting of the gloves.....
at last...some normality......so many dreamers were talking as if Mike is still that killer lol.....
When I'm 58 and this gets brought up by the younger generation, I'm gonna say "Mike was 96 years old."
Cus D'Amato would be ashamed of you, Mike, for throwing a fight. Your credibility is lost
Stop it.
I agree with Roy!
Check out MT against RJJ 4 years ago. Huge difference.
I agree I watched that fight I’ve followed Mike since I was a kid 80s and 90s Mike up until now u could see how much he was off
Love hearing from Jones Jr on this, being a) one of the best boxers of all time, b) the last guy to fight Mike and c) a decent human being.
It was a money grab!
its crazy if everything is true
Mike was injured , other health issues, he is 58 , didnt fought for a long time , biting fixation and he may or may not had weed and shrooms before the fight 😮
ive watch the fight in slowmo , many of Mike's punches came very close to hit Jake , damn legs made a big difference in that huge ring
i feel like mike will want to train his legs and try again
Crazy life this man been tru
Just watch highlights, Mike has always bit the glove. So easy to find.
He was in on it too!!!!
Agreeance isn’t a word.
Holmes had no time to train for that fight.
Thumbnail looks like roy is having a heart attack
I agree with Roy,
Evander also mentioned Tysons
movement seemed off balance etc ...a leg issue and also,
Mike wearing only socks at weigh in where Jake who
was wearing runners intentionally stepped on Mikes toes .??
Mike with no mobility issues could knock out Jake and Logan
in the same match , knock out Jake and then have next round
continue with Logan . I would bet Tyson could knock both of them out within
8- 3 minute rounds , Tyson is the GOAT !!!!1
Legit or not im just glad i was able to see my childhood hero mike once more
I have seen Mike Tyson bite his gloves before and it's something he only does when he is frustrated or he feel he is losing the fight! He bit his glove in the Kevin McBride fight
sciatica can limit mobility. Open workout is different from the fight...
Yes, you right sciatica can significantly impact mobility:
Please no more freak shows. Please for the integrity of what is left of the sport. 🙏🏾
Mike Holded himself back. Its pretty clear, tons of videos outhere showing this.
Enjoy the Money and Retirement MIKE!
This is beyond out of hand 💯
Roy fought Mike 4 years ago. Of course Mike isn’t the same…. He is older and has more ailments.
Also when Mike and Roy fought, Mike wasn’t in the ring with a 28 year old, he was in the ring with another old guy.
Tyson’s style along with RJJ, David Haye etc has never lent itself to longevity, short explosive bursts reliant on fast twitch muscles/ reflexes.
Jones for instance imo went up the weights not only to achieve the accolades but to face slower fighters.
Ik know when mike Tyson bite his glows there is something wrogt
Watch the Holyfield 1 fight, the Lewis Fight and the Kevin McBride fight. Mike bites his glove when he gets nervous.
If you can handle the fact Mike was charged to hold back on combinations. That's coming from a place of contract knowledge
Five trainers Mike had and not one of them worked on legs and balance. Mike has more muscle at 58 compared to 28 why is this?
It's not paul breaking the net.. it's the people he choses
jake definitely didn't try to knock him out the later rounds
Keywords "the later rounds". Early rounds he was sure throwing with power.
That biting the glove was definetly because Mike was high on something.
His back was killing him
None of these boxers are going to admit this fight was fixed because they don't want to lose future paydays
I 100% agree. Roy wants his $20 million payday.
He would've knocked Roy out but he held back then to Tyson obviously wasn't allowed to hurt either of them.
No one could have told Roy when he was a boxer that he would be selling fake fights some day.
I watched mike for years never saw him bitting his gloves
