Thanks for the 455 on 455 race sorry I couldn't bring you some better competition she was definitely angry with me by the time we made our pass. Hope to see you again next year!
This is called the No Name Nationals, John Wilburn and Dallas Brown host this event. This was there second one and they’ll be doing another next year. Got to have 500 subs to participate. Your at 350 now so you’ll be in there like swimwear. The last two years it was in Sikeston Missouri. Check out John Wilburn and keep up with his stuff. But definitely a great time. You can search up a lot of footage from this event. You should definitely think about it.
My Trans am ran a best of 9.2 at 79mph with a 2.11 60 foot. Launching the car was my problem. Car has the power to go faster just not enough traction I think. Ran on regular radial tires 295/50/15s full of air. One of my rear shocks were bad and I think that had a lot to do with the traction issue. Plenty of room for improvements. Going to put a shift kit in it and a set of aluminum heads. Car should do 8s with the 6x-4 heads that I lightly ported but I think the aluminum heads will make a big difference. Thanks for watching Matt!
@@dakotastimeout2827 Appreciate the information Dakota . Man that’s a haul from Ga I was hoping it was closer not saying I won’t come . I got a truck that can pull my 81 TA , so I am not going to rule it out. My brother can pull his 76 turbo TA to. Looks like great fun. Yea they closed our 1/4 mile dragstrip at the end of 2021. It had been there since 1975. Can’t believe NHRA sold it. Closest dragstrip for me and my brother is 2 hrs away one way. Not sure of your track elevation so I can’t say anything about the times. But I will say 79 mph isn’t bad at all. If you can knock down that 60 ft time sub 2.0 that will help on the big end. I have run 81 -82 mph in the 1/8 that’s with a 8.5 -8.6 sec in the 1/8. 13.2 @101 mph in the 1/4. Atlanta Dragway was a 1/4 mile track. It was 1100 ft elevation. I run a iron headed 6x8 s 461 stroker. Holley 770 SA , single plane intake from Speedmaster .. was running a Edlebrock RPM intake , 224/230 roller cam, hedman headers with dual 3 inch exhaust. Turbo 350 with a 3000 stall , 3.08 factory gears with 275/50/15 Nitto DRs. I also put in Detroit speed leaf springs with a 2inch drop. I welded in some subframe connectors. So she is pretty stiff. No flex in the body. Run the DRs at 18psi . Run 1.9 60 ft pretty consistent. Used to run 2.1-2.3 60 ft times. Been chasing 12s for awhile. Always room for improvement. Bought a AFR gauge and installed. So I am getting my jetting right in my carb. Ended up going from 72 primaries to 69 and 75 secondaries to 79. Plus dialed in the idle circuit to.. Now my eyes don’t water from my car being to rich at idle lol. Is it any quicker don’t know yet will have to take her out with the Dragy and test her . Your 74 TA is beautiful reminds me of my brothers 76 TA. Got to love those second gen TAs 👍 Good talking with you. I am going to check out your videos. 👍
Well that’s not bad at 80mph and my huge lack of traction. You must not have ever down this yourself or experienced real world variables. But thanks for watching I hope you’ll learn some.
Excellent video. I wonder if Mongrel's Bird is stock.
Wish they had a win light at the top - if they do, I ain't seeing it...
Ya I wanted to see everyone’s time but it didn’t show anything. Race against Mongerals bird was the best but I really winded it out trying to get it.
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!! Go Poncho Power!!!
Thank you!
Cool looks like it was running good.
Sure was! Thanks for watching Nathan!
Get it!!!!!🏁🏁🏁🏁

Awesome 400 Pontiac V8 engine you built Dakota in such a short time frame. VERY Reliable and Fast. Excellent driving skils Likewise.
This is actually the 455 we decided to re ring it and it new bearings in it. Cam crank and pistons were good. Put new eagle forged rods.
Great job Dakota! Hunter too! I'm proud of you guys!
Thanks man!
Car performed awesome! You did great man
Thanks man!
Looks like a great time. Where is this at? I would like to run my 2nd gen TA there next year. What time did you run in the 1/8 with your 74 TA?

Yes sir! I saw you made a good pass but never got to ask you what time you ran. It looked like a good solid pass.
@@dakotastimeout2827 I ran a 9.5 against Kandy cane. He ran a 9.3. Our best times all weekend. I would like to shave off 2 seconds eventually.
