    I am genuinely impressed by the amount of innovation pumping out of China these few years. From DJI to Zeapon, I am wondering what they will create next. Exciting time to be alive!

      Hey hey again Jason!
      Definitely exciting with all the tech we have for video! I am just praying for DJI to make a non-gimbal version of their Ronin 4d as well as mainstream their LiDar Follow Focus as a stand alone product!

    Completely agree. No smartphone app should be necessary! And as you point out, it needs to integrate seamlessly with their pan-tilt head. Manually slide *and* tilt the camera, click one button to select point A. Manually slide and tilt the camera, click one button to set a B point.
    If Zeapon provides a slider with that level of slide, pan, tilt, integration, (and with no smartphone app needed) will absolutely buy one.
    And another great review.

      @TLDR_filmmaker  Рік тому +1

      Hey hey again Michael!
      Definitely no smartphone necessary, I'd say its only necessary if you have more than two waypoints which I feel most people only really need A and B. Thanks as always for stopping by!

    • @Trevellian
      @Trevellian Рік тому

      @@TLDR_filmmaker Yes, two waypoints is perfect. But it has to set the pan-tilt module as well, without having to press separate buttons on the pan-tilt or use a smartphone app. If Zeapon can deliver that functionality, will buy one immediately.

      Ain't nobody got time for no apps in the field! Definitely would love to see them employment that idea. A-B points are more or less 95% of what people need anyways. No need for an app to do those simple 3-axis moves.

    I hate that everything wants to use my phone to control it. I much prefer to use my phone with the monitor+ app and use physical controls on a slider. On the iFootage nano slider, once you play the A/B points it stops, not sure why Zeapon doesn't have that set by default and use looping instead.

    • @TLDR_filmmaker
      @TLDR_filmmaker  Рік тому

      I think one of the newer motor firmware updates now lets you activate a loop without having to go into the app. I can't remember the button combination at the moment.

    I like your setup with the supports locked to the tripod column! Which Manfrotto tripod is that? Would it be sturdy enough with this setup if the center column was not touching the ground?

    • @TLDR_filmmaker
      @TLDR_filmmaker  Рік тому +2

      Hey hey Nicholas!
      Thank you so much for checking out this video and asking a question!
      The good thing is this Zeapon kit comes with those supports! The Tripod I have is an older model called the 055xproB. When you are low to the ground you will want your tripod legs as far as possible for the 1000mm length slider. This is because if you get to the far ends you may risk tipping the tripod depending on if you are using the tilt on your video head. If you are just doing straight slides, its not a problem pending on how heavy your set up it.
      With these long slide single tripods setups, in the future i'll probably want to bring a sandbag to weigh down the tripod if I am doing a low shot.

      Definitely a great update! I think they are pretty much done on the slider front as far as useful innovation. They have heard my feedback on different types of motor modules, so hopefully we will see how they are able to try and impliment a smartphone-less setup and brushless motors for ultra silent interviews.

    I regret my Zeapon micro 2. I haven’t been able to use the app in a over 6 months and can’t firmware m update the slider. I’m happy they’ve made an upgrade but I’m gonna move to edelkrone as soon as I can dump this thing.

    • @TLDR_filmmaker
      @TLDR_filmmaker  Рік тому

      Hey hey Wilson!
      I'm sorry to hear that the Micro 2 hasn't worked as it should for you :(
      It's odd that the firmware on the slider won't update. I think we talked before, you are using an Android Phone or iphone? It seems that Android version of the app has always been weird, may depend from phone to phone. The Iphones have been fine. If you're able to borrow someones iphone, I believe the newer versions of the app are able to update the motor firmware through the phone instead of having to connect it to the computer. But I get it, hopefully you are able to sell the Micro 2 to someone that just needs a manual slider and move over to the edelkrone system. Some others to consider are Rhino and Syrp.

      @TLDR_filmmaker  Рік тому +1

      Hey hey PaulAbayAbay!
      Thank you so much for checking out this video and commenting!
      It's only worth the upgrade if you find yourself moving between Motor and Manual push frequently. While the Micro 2 Plus was better at swapping the motor, it is definitely not as streamlined as the new Micro 3. Otherwise if you are only using motor or manual mostly with your Micro 2 plus, there probably isn't too much of a reason to upgrade at this time.

    Usually when filming interviews, you are standing right next to the camera anyways hence you're able to use manually without a motor. This is almost the perfect slider.

    • @TLDR_filmmaker
      @TLDR_filmmaker  Рік тому

      That is true. Depends on if you plan to do a two camera interview and let the slider run. Though with so many great AI Dialogue isolation tools these days, I'm not really worried about motor noises as I once was.

    do you consider it better than ifootage shark slider nano? i am abit concerned about nanos distance coverage, deciding between this and nano and would love to hear you guys thoughts

    • @TLDR_filmmaker
      @TLDR_filmmaker  Рік тому +1

      The Nano is great in that its very fast to program your AB points with the pan. The bad of the Nano is how heavy of a camera you can use on it. If you randomly change a lens or zoom in on a lens making the camera front heavy. You may need to recalibrate the Nano so that it glides smoothly. While the Zeapon takes a little bit longer to setup AB points, it does not care if your camera is off balance when mounted. Its pure motors will move the carriage no matter what versus the Nano's Brushless motors.

      Hey hey again Shaheed!
      Thanks! As I am trying out this new format for the channel I am now focusing on key selling points of a product instead of listing every possible thing a product has. Mainly I am doing this because the UA-cam algo really hates my old format when viewers drop off after the TLDR section or skip around. For the time being I will use B-roll shots to show what things are there, but I may not verbally mention it to keep things moving. Hope this makes sense as I continue to craft the new channel format! As always, I appreciate you poppin by in the comments!
