Nice work, mate. Always fun to watch you drive through the field (sucks about the pit lane start though). Are you running the stock R8 rotor in these things? If so, what’s the lifecycle/maintenance on one like?

RX-8 Cup spec car. Ric Shaw intake pipe (with MAF), exhaust and standard tune. Engine performance was very consistent for the entire weekend. Maisie bed the engine in in her road car leading up to the event.

@@liamduffinmotorsport appreciate the info, mate. So they’re running the RENESIS engine? I find that pretty interesting (I’m a rotor admirer, but not necessarily “in the know”), they seem to be deemed “don’t even bother” as far a ownership..
I’d love to own a rotary in my lifetime, but I only ever really considered these as “swap to a REAL ROTARY” option..

@nicocrinkleburg The 13b MSP Renesis engine in the RX8 is the most powerful NA rotary engine ever made that went into production. An RX7 13b REW without the turbo makes less power than a renesis. The reason for their bad reputation, which is undeserved in my opinion, is because you can't shove boost into them with a turbo like you can with an REW engine. You can't get much more than like 10lbs of boost from what Ive heard, but there hasnt been many people trying either. The Renesis engine has a higher compression ratio, shorter apex seals, side exit exhaust, and a weird factory bridgeport-esque intake port that opens up after 6000RPM to let more air into the engine and for longer during the combustion cycle. They even rev to 9500RPM completely stock. They aren't as fast as an RX7, but they sure are fun to drive!(and MUCH cheaper)
