2014 - 2014 Honda Insight easy tail light removal and replacement

My dad and show show you how to remove the tail light on our 2010 Honda Insight without removing all to surrounding plastics (we decided to replace it since the LEDs started flickering). We do actually remove it in fewer than 3 minutes. All you need are a pliers, a flat screw driver to remove the trunk light and a plastic cover near the light, and either a Phillips screw driver or a 5/16 nut driver to unscrew the light!

Really wish there would be a mention of the added steps when doing this for the passenger side of a 2010 Honda insight. I just did that tonight and there was a little more effort removing all of the plastic pieces on the passenger wall, but everything else in this video was spot on.

Just need screwdriver, take of the black plastic panel, undo the screws and take out the unit to replace the bulbs. The same with the passenger side rear too you don't need to do the plier step or the nut driver.

I love how the cameraman person told the guy pulling out the clip for the wire harness to stop doing so in Russian rather quietly. What a blessing and a curse to speak Russian at...most of the time. It really kills the suspense.

What bulb do you need to replace reverse light? Is it W5W ?

No, the parking light was flickering and quit working. There were multiple bulbs and the whole tail light was sealed. We replaced the whole thing.

Thank you for this! I wasn't able to pull that black cap out like you did. I had to push it all the way through and then take it off on the outside of the car.
Perhaps it's just as different model quirk.
