I don't think Hu Wei is being fair to Gu; it's a dating show after all and he won the privilege of the date. It sucked that CMJ lost her chance to get off the island but that's more on the producers for making that rule. But I guess it's also awkward for Hu Wei to know that another girl cried because of her 🥹
Frankly, I would be hesitant about picking CMJ too. I really like her but she was super into Fujie at the beginning, got rejected and then latched onto Gu within five days. Maybe Gu thought CMJ would get over him quickly and didn't expect her to be so emotional
I kinda feel bad for Gu as he always says it's hard for him to express his feelings. In the previous season, he just felt comfortable with CMJ and it's clearly shown that he sees her as a friend. Then, the part where he had to choose whom to go on a date with it's not that he also wants to go on a date with CMJ, I believe he just feels frustrated bcs ofc he gonna choose Nannan but at the same time he feels bad for CMJ as he knew that she'll pick him so then she'll lose the chance to date outside.
