I hate those people who ask others to remove slippers outside before entering their houses. Home is for people, and if gets dirty because of them it can be cleaned. But, behaving like this to any human makes me feel that it is better not to go to such houses, and let their houses remain clean like a showpiece. On one hand they say "atithi devo bhava", on the other hand they can't tolerate if their atithi comes inside with shoes/ slippers. Another hypocrisy of Indian mentality.

@@sanatandharma48 apni baat aur hai but you have no right to ask guests to take off slippers while entering your house, specially in a country of "atithi devo bhava". House will keep getting dirty when people live there. It needs to be cleaned regularly or whenever it gets dirty. In north India most families don't do this, some are exceptions. It depends on individual mentality.

But their houses might be cleaner then ours. All I am saying is family values are different for everyone, and people should respect the differences rather than forcing there thought on others. I just gave my opinion that I don't like such people start teaching their values to others.
