Himsagar Express is truly the best example of Unity in Diversity in India. The train journey from Jammu onwards became very beautiful. My brother used to travel from Nagercoil to Jammu during the late 80's and he used to describe this journey. Now I understand why he used to talk so much about this travel.

Kudos to the Indian Railways. Progress has been made in leaps and bounds. The only thing that India is lagging in is maintaining cleanliness. We should each one of us campaign for cleanliness - stop littering, stop spitting and the govt. Should provide free training for vendors about food handling as Indians thrive on buying meals when travelling.

Awesome video, Satyabhai. The full journey was a treat to watch!!! One another point you might have missed. This train, Himsagar Express, might be the only train of Southern Railways (SR), to cover this much distance, and might be the only SR train at SMVD Katra. And I noticed that the train was throughout hauled by a WAP 4 loco, presumably from a southern India loco shed. Could you throw some light on the power of the WAP 4, hauling a train over 3.7k kilometers? That in itself is another achievement!!! One of your best videos, Satyabhai!!!

You did mention about chole puri, I use relish chole puri of "Jhansi". I was hesitant to mention in earlier comment but was not sure whether still available. Good to know still available.
Most of southbbound superfast trains viz. TN, AP KK Exp at the of introduction Jhansi was first stop once it departed from New Delhi. Approx 7 hours non stop. Once Madhavrao Scindia ( father of Jyotiraje) became railway minister he introduced Gwailor stop for all trains.
Saw growth of speed in this section from 100 max to 120/130 to 160 KMPH. One important change that was introduced in the infrastructure was size of ballast. Now larger size, a massive job. Of course replacing, cement sleeper, electrificaton... were also carried out. With smaller size as they increased the speed ballast use to fly off.

I am a railfan from Canada and a very old follower of your youtube. I came to Delhi in 2008 for a short visit but I was enjoying New Delhi. I love India & Indian people and obviously Indian railways.
My request to the Indian Railways authorities above is that a special train should travel only to Indians living abroad NRI and all Foreign tourists those who are railway fans should travel all over India in this Journey. And the fun part is that it also has all kinds of food available to travelers from all over the world. In any case, this video is worthy of Like. And my hands aren't broken so I don't share Jay Hind
