Great Job Mike. Can't wait to head back there. I was ready to return like YESTERDAY my brother. Can't wait to see the magic you do once you receive everyone's GoPro footage and pictures.
Damn that just brought back so many great memories watching our video just now. Great times, great friends. Can’t wait to get out to the Bahamas again Billy D
That's some nice water. Very cool water. And cool exploration. That an awesome future thing to do. Now I want to do it lol. Very cool videos. You seemed to do an amazing job is there anyway you could maybe look at some of our videos and help us out.
my riding club and i plan on taking this trip in the beginning if the 2017 season. Did you need to haul extra gas? or was one full tank enough to get there?
Most of us hauled extra gas just in case. All depends on what kind of ski you have. I have a Yamaha FX HO, I only used 13 gallons heading over, and just over 11 coming back. We had a Sea Doo RXP300 and a Kawasaki 310 that were on fumes as we pulled into the dock. We are planning on going back next year as well!
13 gals going and 11 coming back....downhill coming back. Couldn't resist. This looks amazing sir and I want to do it. At my age, I think I may have to do some conditioning first and make sure I'm up for it. I'm going to look for your fb page and hopefully begin the planning to include buying a "ski". I'm interested in the seedoo because of the closed-loop system. What are your thoughts if you don't mind sharing....Thanks again for the information you shared and the vids!
I searched threw the comments but didn't come across and mention of how long it took to get there and back. Im in jacksonville fl and would like to do this crossing at some point.
David D It depends on conditions. This trip in '16 took us roughly 5 hours to get there, just under 3 hours coming back. In '17, took us just over 3 hours to get there, hour and half on the return trip...it was flat out there. You're only as fast as your slowest person, and we had a few that were taking their time.
Very nicely done guys. This is a dream of mine for sure. I guess what I am nervous about is it being rough on the way back as you are kinda forced to follow through with the trip... And is that $150 per person entry? Talk about a bunch or pirates they are..lol
Appreciate it! Going again next May. Luckily it's only 53 miles, even if it's rough, it's still manageable. It was $150 per vessel, and that includes up to 3 additional passengers I believe.
We have a Facebook page setup for the trip. Search "Bimini 2017", and ask to join in. This is just a general page so everyone can post up their plans, but everyone is responsible for their own reservations. Our dates are May 7th (Sunday) thru May 12th (Friday).
I think from now on we will use a launch near Port Everglades. This way we don't have to fight the Miami traffic, and all the extra tolls to include getting onto Key Biscayne. Crandon Park is also a little expensive. Launching from the Port Everglades area adds about 3 miles to your crossing, but saves over an hour round trip driving for us.
John mike, we did. Covers your entry fee, cruising and fishing permit. Print all your forms off at home and have them filled out before the trip, saves you all kinds of time, plus I think they charge you for the paperwork now. And make sure you print them on the longer legal size paper, they won't take standard letter size.
I know people cross on ski's all the time. We launch in Key Biscayne, so looks like you're fairly close. We have a group of 18 ski's crossing next month. This is becoming a yearly thing for us, just wish it wasn't a 12 hour drive!
I have a '13 Yamaha FXHO. We had 8 ski's on this trip, which included several different models of Yamaha's, Kawasaki's, a Sea Doo, and even a Honda. We just got back a couple weeks ago from this years trip and we had a total of 18 ski's...again, every brand of ski was in attendance. As long as it's a 4 stroke, and it decent condition, you'd be fine.
Michael King Fastest reply ever on a UA-cam vid. Thanks bro. Nice to see someone not mind dropping a little knowledge on others. Trip looked amazing. Hope I can talk some friends into it!!
Just happened to be on UA-cam at the moment! Trip of a lifetime for sure. If you get a group to go and need a tour guide, hit me up!! Or if you just need some advice, I can help there too.
Michael King Cool. My email address is jjothan@gmail.com We are in south Alabama. Just drop me a line so I can save your contact. Never know when we may be able to break loose and try it. I fished outta Marathon last August and fell in love with that area.
If u guys are doing this again you should link me I live in Nassau Bahamas and have a speedster 215 super charged I would like to tag along... Plus I work at the Atlantis so I can get great rates of stay
Good deal! I'll keep that in mind. We do this trip every year, and we are considering going further than Bimini this year. Anywhere to dock the ski's if we were to stay at Atlantis??
Michael King Thank you Michael for answer, i don't have my own sky, i only want to rent jet sky and cross this distance, I'm not American and i don't know how safe will be this travel, can you give me some advice?
Just a tank of gas, passport, $150 for an entry fee at customs, and a place to stay! We had a group of 9, stayed 4 nights. Cost per person for the stay was approximately $315.
See my earlier post about 2019, would like to hook up with some experienced riders to go with us. Thanks again for the good information you are putting out!
It must be cool traveling through the ocean in a group of 10-15 jetskis
Great Job Mike. Can't wait to head back there. I was ready to return like YESTERDAY my brother. Can't wait to see the magic you do once you receive everyone's GoPro footage and pictures.

How long it take you to get back n forth?
Rough conditions made it a 5 hour trip over, but less than 3 hours on the return. About 53 miles. Decent sized group required frequent stops.
Looks great.

Thanks for the response, thats not bad at all.

Thanks, marc
Marc, did you ever make this trip? There is a group of us in Wilkesboro that are wanting to plan a trip.
Hey Micheal, what kind of camera are you using besides the GoPro? And what software do you use to edit your videos
Which boat ramp did you guys launch from in Miami?
Crandon Park Marina in Key Biscayne
@@michaelking9165 Thanks, I've been trying to get different opinions on the best marina to leave my truck and trailer for the week while in Bimini.

Ah fuck that looks cool. Well done. .. I really want to make that trip.
Great video (y)
Did you guys have to ride through the Bermuda Triangle?
We did, no issues thankfully!
Wicked !!!
Hey did you guys have to stop at customs and pay $150 per jet ski to be on the water?
John mike, we did. Covers your entry fee, cruising and fishing permit. Print all your forms off at home and have them filled out before the trip, saves you all kinds of time, plus I think they charge you for the paperwork now. Are there groups that go frequently on these types of trips, I'm up in Melbourne but honestly I'd trailer down to do this for sure.

I have a '13 Yamaha FXHO. We had 8 ski's on this trip, which included several different models of Yamaha's, Kawasaki's, a Sea Doo, and even a Honda.
Michael King, how many time did you need to cross this distance? and how many gas i will need to cross from Miami to Bimini, Alice Town?
All depends on what kind of ski you have. I use about 12 gallons on average for each crossing I've done. So you should be fine without extra gas.
Michael King Thank you Michael for answer, i don't have my own sky, i only want to rent jet sky and cross this distance, I'm not American and i don't know how safe will be this travel, can you give me some advice?
Michael King do you allow other people outside of your trip
To ride with you?
