      Remember to grease them if you don't want metal shavings.

    • @exproducermichael
      @exproducermichael 8 років тому +28

      +biohazardjackson63 Why do you skaters remove the grease from your bearings? A bearing spinning with no load is not a true test of the friction coefficient of the bearing. When you remove the grease and then spin the wheel in the air and it goes longer than a greased bearing, its still a false test of the bearing. Under load, the bearing will wear out and the balls of the bearing will come out of tolerance and contact the bearing race quicker. Grease your bearings, re-pack them with the shields, and don't take the grease out.

    • @superdau
      @superdau 8 років тому +6

      +biohazardjackson63
      Acetone isn't a good way to clean bearings. It's a very aggressive solvent, which will damage most plastics. So don't use it if the bearing has plastic ball bearing cages or plastic shields.
      For a cheap cleaner use Diesel fuel or lamp oil. Works well enough and is quite harmless.

    • @scrie100
      @scrie100 8 років тому +2

      +twingo hon hon hon it's not about removing the grease, it's about removing any dirt. If you don't clean your bearings regularly, they won't perform as good.

    • @thatguy7345
      @thatguy7345 8 років тому +22

      I'pretty sure it's coming from the bearing

    • @TwitchFast
      @TwitchFast 8 років тому +35

      ZenitLP My reason for thinking it's the compressor is because the bearings should have released all the acetone when they were originally put to such an RPM, yet it continued to happen after every time he accelerated them.
      Not only that, but acetone flashes pretty quickly, if that much were present when he was spinning them up, the sparks should have ignited it.

    • @johnnyq90

    • @TwitchFast
      @TwitchFast 8 років тому +12

      ***** Ahh, that'd explain it.
      Thought you might've been running them dry as bearings (to my knowledge) spin longer dry albeit shortening their lifespan.

It reached the door about 25 metres away in seconds, punching a hole in it.

    I got a few questions. So i rinsed my bearings with water and Everyone says water will rust them if i rinse under water but will they only rust if i domt use them for long times like if i use everyday they shouldnt rust right? Another question is i know bearings use grease so if i used this lube called speed cream just google it it comes stright up will this speed them up or slow them down ? Btw im using for a finger spinner

    Friendly tip: centrifugal force is not a real force. It is just the momentum up the mass of the bearing wanting to travel in a straight line and is being directed outward, but is unable to do so due to the structure. What is close to centriFUGAL force is centriPETAL force. Centripetal force is the force that moves in a circular path and is directed to the centre of the bearing. An easy way to remember the difference between these two words and their definitions is the "F" in centrifugal stands for "FAKE", and the "P" in centripetal stands for "PUSH". Hope this helps :)

    • @vladimirlucifer4566
      @vladimirlucifer4566 6 років тому

      SoundHarvest Is it fake? Ahahahahaha. Go into a rotating chamber and tell me that it is fake. If you have even mass on a round object, the centrifugal force is all the same, so there is no movement.

      It actually is a lot more than that. surface of a wheel(circle) is π*d, so π*0.092(meters) = 0.289
      0.289*82000 = 23700meters per second which is 53015 mph. So there you have it 😊
