I love the original version of course, but this version seems so much more emotional if we take into account the meaning of the lyrics. This man needs to resume his solo career!
When broken down to its bare bones like this, this song really sounds like a classic Kayokyoku track, something like Momoe Yamaguchi could have sung. The vocal melody is very traditional sounding!
I always wonder why Kozi never became the main vocalist of MM. Would have them the headache of always finding a new singer every few years. I mean Gackt and Klaha were godsent, but the logical thing was for Kozi to become the vocalist after Tetsu left.
Probably he never felt he was the showman such a position would require. As a vocalist he is also very good, but I feel the MM sound needs a baritone voice like Gackt and Klaha.
I think he would have been a great choice. He’s got such a nice voice and we already know his music style meshes well with MM. I mean they are still technically on “hiatus”…
