I really hope there's a season 2. Vtuber Legends really hit the nostalgia with so many references of events that happened in the vtubing community in real life. I enjoyed watching every single episode and remembering those days being stuck at home because of the pandemic and just watching stream after stream.
Hopefully this means a season 2. I loved watching vtuber legend, so much so that I'm rewatching it for a third time, it's become a comfort anime of mine. I showed it to a friend a while ago and he loved it and also wants a season 2. So like that one meme. "More please waiter"
I think someone involved with the production of this anime realized they have these industry-grade VTuber Live2Ds and stream assets just lying around going to waste, and they just decied to let the voice actors be VTubers whenever they feel like it.
Hopefully, it's continuing drip-marketing leading up to a second season. The finale did end feeling more like the end of a self-contained story, but the source novels still have a lot more material (and at least the final volume has yet to be published, even in Japan, to the best of my knowledge).
