think about the maintenance of these things. It is like 70 hrs. of prepping for 1 hour of flying. I would think a total rebuild. every time someone flies. It costs over 10 million to train one polite to fly a F-16 and up to 13 million to learn to fly a F-22

Forget hand crank battery power
Can't use battery power because of the risk of electrical discharge causing a round to go off. The "gun" used in one of the clips is operated pneumatically from two air tanks on the ALS (ammunition loading system), or UALS (universal).

As an aviation ordnanceman for 19 years in the Navy I did this daily on F/A-18s. Never ever ever would we even think about a power drill.

If you are an ordinanceman for 19yrs then you'd know why they don't use battery powered drive guns. I'm a retired 2W0X1 (munitions systems) in the USAF which you lazily tried to disparage but it obviously shows how dumb you are. I've seen how the Navy gets their bombs mostly pre-built which obviously makes it easier to finish. I understand why it's mostly pre-built and I won't say it's because you guys are too slow to build them. It's pre-built because it saves space on the ship when each and every component doesn't need to have it's own packaging. We in the AF assemble each and every component.
@ they don’t come pre built you have to build them. Shows how dumb you sound. Everything is assembled by us. And loaded by us. Everything is by hand. Everything including loading. We would run circles around the AF

I thought that would have come up with faster ways to load these weapons (like magazines). For instance for Phalanx, what will happen in real battle after initial loadout is spent? Ship is left undefended and sailors will be exposed while slowly reloading it? It should have been automatically fed with new loadout from the below the ship, not from outside....strange.
Most of those video clips are jets being loaded with 20mm
If a ship is up against enough incoming ordnance to deplete the phalanx, the ship didn't bring enough friends and is gonna die anyway.
If the enemy can throw enough missiles at your boat to empty the magazines on your CIWS, then they can send those missiles simultaneously instead of one-after-the-next and simply overwhelm the CIWS instead of waiting for its ammo to run out.

@@Laosy-Redneck-Thai I know they change the AFSC, but back in my day we was called "Weapons" 1981 to 1984, AFSC 46250 for AIRCRAFT ARMAMENT SYSTEMS SPECIALIST, a whole lot change since I got out back in 84
If I'm correct, now the AFSC is something like "AIRCRAFT ARMAMENT SYSTEMS SPECIALTY"
