Wahoo! I had no idea I could refrigerate or freeze acrylics! I used to freeze my oils pallets when I used oils but never knew I could freeze acrylics! Thank you 🎉😊
@@KayInMaineAs a marine biogeochemist (and specialized in metals) who once had a strong interest in fungi, I can confirm that copper plays a role. It's also what treatments for wood used to be based on, though I don't know if that is still the case.
Hehe, glad to hear there are other artists that don't sketch! I walk around for sometimes months with various ideas and designs and then when I finally do them it goes relatively quickly, but I've already worked out everything in my brain!
to combat the "smell" inside the Sta-Wet palette, dip a Q Tip in clove oil and place it inside the palette . Just leave it in there. It keeps the palette smelling wonderful!
Thank you so much for all the wonderful tips and tricks. A question : What are your favorite size canvases? What size canvases do you find sell the best?
Hey Julia. I love your use of vibrant colours, it's what attracted me to your work. In your Wales videos you worked with a limited colour palette for the watercolours. Have you/would you experiment with a more limited use of colour for your acrylics, for a more monochrome look? Just for the fun of it?
Julia, I just found you last year and boy, have I not only enjoyed your videos, but I’ve learned so many cool tips from you. Thank you so much for being so kind to share with us! I absolutely also love seeing your patio/garden so much inspiration, happy colors, patterns and textures to explore! Love it all! Thanks again! 😊🫶💕💐🖌🎨🖼
I was just getting ready to ask you if you do watercolor - ya beat me to it:) My medium is watercolor but now venturing into acrylic - so much to learn. I just discovered your art and I love your style! Thank you for some great tips here.
I bought a shallow tupper with a clip on lid. I place 2 x layers of wet kitchen wipes in the bottom and cover that with a layer of wax paper. I put my paint on that and it has stayed usable a month +. So happy it works 😉😁🤩
Thank you Julia I learned a lot as always! I love the big yellow boat with the water and mountains behind you. It's inspiring & now I'm going to paint a boat scene too. Must watch your video on that. Please tell us all about your trip to Wales and excited to see your watercolor sketches!
Julia, do you ever do any painting lesson groups? I’m local and must have passed your house a thousand times on my way to Burlington!( I like to take the more scenic route on my way home to Niagara)
Julia you are a fabulous artist and business woman! I was wondering if you have any resource (books, podcast, etc) that you recommend for the business side of the art world? Amelia
Hi Jullia thank you so much to share your experience ..Can you make or do you have video about package biger canvas and delivery company is the best for that ?I For me is still this proces that I am not sure what I can do...I like your channel .Thank You.
Thanks so much for your videos! I’ve learned so many tips. I use staywet pallet and find my smells. I didn’t know to wash the white paper and can reuse. Cost saving!
Hi Julia, I love your videos and your studio too. My question is how do you determine pricing for your paintings? There seems to be many different ways; hourly plus materials, by the square inch or by linear inch, each ends up with a different price. Then you go online places like Etsy and see paintings listed super cheap which makes selling paintings seem hardly worth all the time and effort!
Hey Julia, I asked this 1 or 2 videos ago but haven't heard so I'm asking it again here: do I do your own printing? If you don't, do you think them sent to you or to the Collector? Especially those that you will be embellishing? I love the channel ❤

Julia, you can put copper pennies underneath that wet mat and that'll keep it from molding. Great video!
Thanks for the tip!
@@juliaveenstraartist You're welcome! That's what I do (use probably 9 pennies) and it's great! :D

@angelinasouren yes! And it's only costing me like 9 cents. Lol

I'm so glad you mentioned you don't really keep a sketchbook. I thought I was alone in this! Thanks.
An artists practice is different for everyone but many things we have in common too!

After the wax paper do you put on a heavier paper? I know if I did it the wax paper would move around or crumple up.

I'm curious if you've ever tried a different color other than cadmium red to paint over the white?
The rubber thing is called a gasket.
Amazing. I would never have come up with that!
Great content! So useful. I loved it❤❤❤ Just an amateur painter enjoying the video!!
New to you channel and content. I just love the painting you have there. Look forward to seeing more. Cheers from Down Under 🇦🇺🦘
