When Books Go to War sounds like such an interesting book! Your other reads sound good, too, although I hadn't heard of most of them!

Eeeeeepppp!!! I just picked up my copy of Christmas in the Castle Library today! Sooo excited from all the great things I have been hearing about it. Hoping to read it during Christmas week but I don't know if I can wait that long. 🙂I borrowed When Books Went to War from my library but it's a book I want to add to my home library which is surprising because I'm not a huge non-fiction reader but I know I'll want to reference it from time to time. So inspirational and a testimony to the power of story.

That's a great way of putting it: "a testimony to the power of story."

I was going to do my wrap-up in two parts, but then the books I was waiting for to do my haul video arrived while I was filming.

Tales from the Perilous Realm has 5 of Tolkien's shorter works in it. That could be a good place to go next. I've read 2 of the stories.

@ChautonaHavig I can't wait to get to the scenes in the library. I may skip the rat catching part.

You have read more mysteries than I have ever thought about reading. With that said when a murder happens early in the story and there’s only a few characters introduced we have to conclude it’s maybe only two implicated? Okay, who is it? Matt Wilkes or someone from the college bookstore who shot Frank? No! Don’t tell me. Anyway, how does that work?

Usually, you can guarantee it's someone who shows up by mid-book, but sometimes it's just obvious that it has to be xyz person from the first scene. It's weird, but my brain puts clues together quickly. My daughter is even faster. We drive our husbands crazy.

@@ChautonaHavig Thanks for that! It’s certainly not my intelligence that drives my husband crazy. That must be a nice problem to have. Great video! 👏🏻

@@amyodell7157 I don't think it's general intelligence. I think we've just read so many that authors have wired our brains to connect things.
