  • I played an acoustic reference instrument that we all know as the historic and mythical Martin D28: a universally recognized sound.
All the D28 vs ... videos are used to understand what other acoustic sound might like or not, comparing it to a fixed point so clear and unambiguous.
    Have fun.

Tutti i video D28 vs ... servono per capire quale altro suono di acustica potrebbe piacere o meno, comparandolo a un punto fermo così chiaro e inequivocabile.
    Buon divertimento.

You’ve compared an entry level Maton with a upper level Martin that costs 5 times more. Put the Martin up against an EA80 Maton for a fairer comparison!

Not a fair comparison. The Maton EM 225C is Maton’s entry level guitar with a cutaway. The Martin has better tone woods and without the cutaway is fuller with more bottom end.

I’ve just gotten M225C. This one blows me off. Not deep sound, but very fast response and loud. 😊

I don’t think the intention was to see which is better but rather what you will get for the price you pay

Nice playing interesting shit! The Martin are to die for but the maton is awesome too!!! For real but as others stated, this a martins best tonewoods bracing neck joint, this is matons entry level and doesn’t disgrace itself in the slightest nice contrast cheers!👍🏼🤘🏼😎

2 guitars from different classes or levels of instruments. Martin being all solid rosewood back and sides and sitka spruce top, very thick bracing and has to be played in a specific way. They are designed for power. Maton em225. Laminate back and sides. I have a maton CW80 from 1991. This beats a D28 in warmth and body, but the martin has sustain that most Matons never will have. I have owned 2 Martin d28 guitars and was interested in a mid 70s D28 but the maton sounded fuller and more open. However my old maton cannot compete with a D35. You should compare apples with apples. Put the maton up against a Taylor 1 or 2 series, or a chinese solid top and then you're more in the same class. However, plug the em225 in, presuming it has at least the AP5 preamp and then it will compete with any acoustic electric on the planet. Unfortunately you usually had to go to the 325 model to get an AP5. Also you've compared a cut away guitar with a non cut away. Maton 225s vary greatly. I've played some really poor ones but I actually bought a friend a similar one but had the AP5 preamp. It's a magnificent guitar in it's own right. She also owns a Marin HD28E which is a killer guitar, but she still only gigs with the Maton.

Maton, not overpowered , clean , crisp and to the point. Martin sounds nice too, the Maton quality is way better than the Martin's I've had.

It’s a shame that you keep rattling the strings on the Maton. Martins are much heavier to play than Matons and you might be more used to that I suppose. Matons have a lovely sparkle and are very articulate. It can be heard here, even on this entry level 225. Here is a video comparing similar quality instruments: ua-cam.com/video/ihWBkx0WeSo/v-deo.html

The Maton doesn’t have the depth of the Martin, but when you have heard and played the Maton plugged in, I think you might choose it.

Here we have an entry level Maton with better clarity than a Martin that costs 5 times more, I do like Martin's but our locally produced all solid Maton is the pick for me, I may be biased though.
