  • We visited the Landgoed de Olmenhorst, an apple and pear farm in Lisserbroek. There we learned about the process of growing the biological apples, the history of the farm going back several generations, and the different animals that are involved ensuring a good yield like bees, earworms, owls, sheep and many more. We then picked some delicious apples and returned to make some delicious apple flap that wr had for snack, apple mouse as well as apple pie that we could take home.
We had a delicious lunch of chapatis, rolex, fruits and vegetables.
As we waited for the baking to be read, we relaxed and read about some important personalities of African origin from the book "Young, gifted and black", a book with52 black heroes from past and present.
We learned about Ava Duverney, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Josephine Baker.
It was a great day of fun and learning together. We look forward to the next one.
