The audacity to say he's going to treat her better when he just killed her sister, stalked her, isolated her from her only family, drove her nearly insane, and scared her to death. I feel so bad for women and men who are in these abusive positions. I cannot imagine what it's like.

I agree. I DO love how she turned this word (and his method of murdering her sister) back on him, when SHE becomes the invisible woman and slashes his throat, ending it with a "surprise" of her own. I think she was also the one to position the camera to precisely pick up the whole exchange, even making it appear that he slit his own throat and she called in a suicide. And notice, she even makes it a point to get out of the camera's sight before that triumphant Cheshire cat smile when she hangs up from dialing 911.

Something to also note is that when they sit down for dinner, Adrian has provided Cece with food and beverages such as sushi, steak and wine. Cece is pregnant.
Wine is already an obvious contender for what you should not consume while pregnant, it has an entire syndrome dedicated to why it's not a safe thing to do, and sushi and steak are generally deemed as unsafe meals to consume while pregnant due to both foods being some form of raw, give or take depending on steak, while sushi is raw fish.
With all of this in mind, this paints a picture that Adrien either doesn't care about nor want the child, and is actively trying to kill Cece's baby while it's in the womb, or the more likely option, Adrian doesn't care enough to do any research as to what a pregnant woman can or cannot eat and drink while pregnant.
Honestly just another great way of showing how much of a cardinal abuser Adrian is. While he is actively trying to manipulate her into coming back to him, he can't even be bothered to make her a meal that won't actively kill her baby.

Are very tense and Claude raines is beyond superb as the original invisible man. There is a redemption arc at the end. In this version.
