The guys at Quip obviously want the repeat customers buying refills. I looked on their website and did not see instructions on how to change the battery. I was five minutes shy of slicing the thing open - before remembering that "search" exists.

Quip's instructions mentions nothing about how to remove the head off the handle. A google search later, boom, watched this video and I got access to the battery.
After 10 minutes of trying with Quip instructions, I watched your video and the head was off in two seconds. Thank you! It was the “snap it like a twig” that did it for me.
@@astropilotred A blind man could dismantle a quip toothbrush. Not sure what the problem is with this brush. Easy to take apart, replace battery and brush and it works great. Is this a millennial thing, does quip need to give out participation ribbons?.
I feel like a complete idiot :D Spent the better part of 15 minutes trying to take the little middle thing apart without even checking the bottom part where the battery was actually located. Thanks! :)))
I had a really hard time getting the motor out the first time and had to use a small tool to force it out. It was suctioned in there as it didn’t slide out as easily as it did in the video. If anyone is having trouble, if you can get a little space on one of the motor “wing” , put a pen or a small tool in the space and you will have to use a little force to push it out.
Thank you, thank you and thank you again. Their own customer service didn’t explain this in a way I understood. I was thinking the whole white casing had to come out not just that inner piece.
As much as I like the results of this toothbrush I would never recommend it. I’ve owned 4 of them for traveling. 3 were great but the last two I owned they lasted about a month. They wouldn’t even answer an email.

THANKS! I'm pretty mechanically inclined but when I pulled the motor out and saw the "battery with arrow" embossed in the motor, and the motor had 2 small removal tabs, I thought "it's in there!" After 2 minutes of trying to depress those tabs I realized "no city slicker" is gonna be able to do this, there has to be an easier way and "VIOLA". I had to go back to the bathroom from the garage to get my battery.....🤦♂️ Thanks

I got the plastic blue one but unfortunately after the fourth head replacement a crack formed where the vibration device sits in. I am glad I bought the cheaper one because I would not be a happy camper had I purchased the metal ones. It seems that the only metal part is the outside and the inside still is plastic (the part where the vibrator sit in.
I gifted the quip toothbrush to my husband last Christmas and he just now needed to replace the battery. He wasn't sure if it had a battery and tried to throw it in the trash! LOL Thank you for this video, it really helped and saved us some money!

Show that tube removal part more thoroughly because I was going insane trying to get the part out that’s blocking the battery because the instructions on the box say to remove it with the “thumbnail line” but it’s really two little notches that allow you to lift up that tube then it’s easy. Thank you for making me feel less insane for trying so many times! 😂

I have been a telecom/networking/troubleshooting technician for 35 years and I couldn't figure it out quickly...got the tube out but thought battery was inside it..never turned the "holder" upside down...*DOH*!!!!!......kudos Pinto...UA-cam is good for SOMETHING!😉
Anyone elses not come with a tripple a battery? Im so confused, your video checks out okay in the beginning and I swear to god I'm not stupid but I've put up a flashlight and looked down the tube; I have the first white motor battery thing but I don't have a batter below mine I just see a spring.
i'm a literal ENGINEER (like. with machines and stuff. not software) and i pulled and wiggled on the brush head so much to get it off. and then i thought the battery was INSIDE the white plastic thing... didn't realize it was still in the brush :| ur a life saver
When I slide the motors back in, it instantly starts running. I click the grey top of the motor and I feel it “click” but it keeps running. Any ideas? It won’t shut off unless I pull it from the battery.

That's not the battery, that's the vibrator. Batteries underneath it in the handle.

Mine came out of the box dead. I replaced the battery it ran for 2 seconds then dies again. Box is worth than the brush
