I miss when commercials were like this, actual advertisements, back in the day they made you want to try the product because they were a fun escape. I miss that.
I wasn’t born in this period but there is something that is so interesting about these ads then the ads today. These ads just had....love and soul.Even for supply commercials and bumpers
I remember these commercials back when I was in middle School. Ahhh man how times have changed. So fortunate to have these times in my memory. Those clear Quaker State motor oil bottles 😮 nostalgia!!!!
I miss these days. Of course it wasn’t all innocent (4/18/99 was only two days before Columbine HS shootings) but in the midst of the craziness there are still some fond, simpler memories for many of us to look back on & smile.
90's was the first decade of rapid technological changes but slowly stagnating changes culturally, never before in history was this the case, but 20 years ago looked only faintly different from today, a little less smartphone driven with slightly more sarcasm and humility as well as slightly less screen time.
It is also probably the last decade where you can watch footage of any kind and still feel nostalgic..the music, cinematography etc. Now, you can go back 10 years ago and it'll feel like yesterday.
Never realized how popular black and white, sepia, and vignette filters were back then. Definitely dates the period but stylistically I kinda like them.

Pretty intense. But he went on to rehire me multiple times. He was last of the old school commercial directors. That bullying shit wouldn't be tolerated as much anymore.
14:07 - Predictive programming for 9/11. 14:22 - The U & P in UPS partially covered to resemble 9 1 1. Side note: you made sure to list this UPS ad as #33? Really?
I find it disturbing that there was an ad that showed a plane fly to close for comfort to a building that looks eeriely similar to the South Tower of the World Trade Center two years before 9/11.
I know it’s kind of weird now to see a plane fly past the towers like that, but I bet for anyone that lived in or frequented Manhattan pre 9/11 it was probably a regular occurrence. The airport had to be somewhere close-by.
We are just like the simpletons in the movie Demolition Man (which ironically features dennis Leary). We are watching and listening to COMMERCIALS for fun. The advertisers have succeeded. We emote positive feelings with COMMERCIALS... Made to SELL US SHIT. Sad.
I was not ready for 14:07 to just come in like that
I just wanna go back....back to 1999.

I miss “Priceless” commercials..
Crazy in four years I would be getting ready for my first combat tour, would have never thought that in 1999.
At times I feel like I'm watching current commercials
1999 everything was starting to become modernized like what see today.
The corona Christmas commercial will always be there for us
I watched the advertisements, when an ad pop up...😂
I'm disappointed because these commercials are not coming back again. I miss them.

Exactly. 90s weren't much different than today.
Only thing significantly different is the technology.
