No worries. As a sentai fan, I could honestly tell you that nobody cared for VRV Master. Signalman was also pretty stupid. The additional characters in Carranger were all pretty lame with the exception of White Racer who was both refreshing and well acted despite only have a few appearances.

It's certainly a shame the director's cut of the Turbo moive is lost media, they even had a scene where they explained why they needed the Turbo powers.
The second cast made the season so much better. They all felt like real characters and brought some much-needed fresh air to the franchise. TJ was a kind-hearted and warm leader; Ashley was a sweet and positive girl; Cassie was spunky and wise-cracking, and Carlos was a very cool guy who showed so much character growth from his guest appearance. I didn't mind Justin because I was still a kid when I was watching 'Turbo' and he was relatable. I took a break from the franchise during 'Zeo' and he helped reignite my interest in it.
The Phantom Ranger actually was in Carranger, as VRV Master and pretty much filled the same role as Phantom Ranger at least in terms of giving the team new Zords/Mecha. We did actually learn more about VRV Master compared to the Phantom Ranger since Carranger and Megaranger were separate seasons all the Carranger plot lines actually had resolution and Carranger had a much happier ending than Turbo did
I got to meet Johnny at a local comic con and asked him about the Turbo season. He said they didn't even tell them they were thinking of replacing them and that some of them learned about it in the newspaper which had a casting call for new rangers and confronted some show runners about it. I actually met Catherine Sutherland this past year at a convention(which by the way she was so nice and sweet) when I asked her about how the change of cast came about and she told me her, Nakia, and Johnny didn’t know they were going to be replaced as they found out from a newspaper article. She was very upset because she felt blindsided and wanted to finish the whole season. She was willing to do the two parter and welcome in the new cast but was mad at everyone in charge. Just wanted to give some insight from what I learned from the pink ranger herself, also great video can’t wait to see more.

He straight-up forgot how to write Power Rangers starting with Megaforce, from what I've heard, which led to Hasbro getting the rights and, by extension, the roadmap we know today. And, in the case of Turbo, he typecasted Jason David Frank and, allegedly, decided that a new team would help him pocket some mucho dinero. So, yeah, he's fucking shady.

It would have been such an AMAZING plot twist if Dimitria was actually Divatox in disguise the whole time. Not only would it make her apparent uselessness actually part of a long-game scheme to waste the power ranger's time and keep tabs on their activity like Master Miller in Metal Gear Solid, but it would also act as a connection to _In Space_ where she leaves the command center with the Blue Centurion, the command center gets destroyed in their abscene and the Blue Centurion gets ambushed and destroyed by who he thought was Dimitria but instead was Divatox all along. It would explain their absence at the end of Turbo and would make Divatox destroying the command center make way more sense.
I actually liked the second half the most. It felt like a reboot and a much needed one. Even as a kid I felt Justin got a bad rep but rewatching Turbo years later. He was totally fine and for the most part a realistic point of kid becoming a ranger. Love this cast, Also I loved how you talked about TJ. I felt him being an open and understanding Red Ranger added charm to the team. Carlos felt more like the prototypical Red Ranger and Ironically was my least favourite of this group. Turbo deserves it's flowers and it (and Space) are the reasons why Power Rangers are still going. If it did end with Space I would have been content because it is a masterclass ending but I'm glad it continued. Anyways, Awesome review and looking forward to "In Space".
Power Rangers was never really groundbreaking but due to decreasing viewership they started doing random shit. Randomly switching to Turbo without explanation for ditching Zeo. Never explaining phantom origin. Etc. the second half post passing of the torch the writing improved and the finale is one of the greatest things in the franchise.
Plus because of how bad it was doing they went all out no matter how bad the Green Screen looked for In Space making it a fan favourite and one of if not the best series.

Considering Rangers is adapted from a yearly changing franchise: Sentai, Saban couldn’t keep using the Mighty Morphin (Zyuranger) suits and editing together many different fight/zord scenes from different seasons of a Japanese show forever. There needed to be a shake up (follow Japan’s formula) for better or for worse.

I told the actor that played Justin when I was a kid, I didnt like it (we're about the same age), but it's fun now as an adult rewatching it. I feel like it was jealously.
It really is interesting, learning about all the ups & downs of the Power Rangers franchise. The 2 Power Rangers movies were my main introductions to the series (my parents didn't let me watch the show during its original run) before getting into the series proper with Lightspeed Rescue & Wild Force during the Disney era. So I have a soft spot for both movies, despite how bad they could be at times. I still love the Turbo theme. Also, 1 Power Rangers season that did the comedy to serious transition best was RPM, since its Sentai origin was a similar tone to Carranger. Can't wait til you tackle In Space with all the things it put in, to go out on a bang.
Personal theory is that, the samething that happened to Jason in the zeo happened to the rest of the rangers. The powers was unstable. Also santia was already using kids. The white ranger was a 9 year boy. The gold zeo ranger was a preteen.

The finale is my second favorite to Space. It is the first time the Power Rangers just lost. And it was great with it being a dark end and made Space even better. Also I’ve always loved the Rescue Megazord and so happy I was able to finally get one two years ago.
The Phantom Ranger is a minor character in Carranger. He's called VRV Master and, besides giving the rangers a power up mid season, he's mainly a comedic character.
The Phantom Ranger always heavily reminded me of the suit Charlie Sheen wore in the movie 'The Wraith", an old 80s thriller about a teenager who was killed by an evil drag racing gang who then reappears in a similar suit to avenge his death by killing them one at a time. I'm 99.10% (lol) sure that was the inspiration for the Phantom Ranger's design.
funny enough, justin was the most competent one of the rangers. when ever something was happening, he knew it was divatox's doing, and would jump into action.
The erutan episode is a natural and unpredicted foreshadow to animus from power rangers wild Force since he's known to turn into a child and can command the elements

Although TJ was a solid red ranger, and the phantom was a cool, if underdeveloped character, Turbo deserves all the hate it gets. Zeo was objectively better. The best thing Turbo did was set the stage for In Space, which it did very well. Although I disagree that Turbo wasn't all that bad, this episode, and this entire video series, are awesome and very well done! Please keep up the good work.
Surprised you didn't mention the part in the "Carlos & The Count" episode where they actually combine elements of both the Turbo & Rescue Megazords..... which never happens again for the rest of the series.
I loved the turbo movie as a kid, primarily the scene where Justin is on his own on the ship. Idk if it was cause i was roughly the same age or something but I always just saw it as so cool that like, Justin on his own started dealing with things without relying on the other rangers
Dang it I actually like Zeo! After how Mighty Morph'n ended. The better excuse would that without Rocky they can't fully use the zeo powers so turbo would be a back up, the zeo powers would later be considered really powerful and is best called upon as a last resort Rocky "Retires" but is actually on stand by as the Turbo powers is enough to get the job then, Then passing of the torch happens, Tommy and Kat leave but Adam and Tanya stay to mentor the new turbo rangers while using the zeo whenever the new team needs help, Adam and Tanya would be called away just in time for the season finale, The whole zeo team comes back for the grand finale in Power Rangers in space.
Yeah, I will die on the hill that Zeo is a top 3 season. There's EVERYTHING to love about that series. Good suits, theme, zords, and villains, it's got it all
The Zeo Rangers should've come back for C2D, it was bad enough Andros took out Zordon instead of Tommy. Have them show up instead of random people like Adele.
the only thing i remember as a kid from watching this movie was justin dropping his key and yelling "my key! my key! my key!" it probably didn't last long in the movie, but to kid me it lasted like 10 minutes and felt very awkward. lol
I never caught the show as a kid, I did see the movie, had it on vhs, and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Bear in mind I was 3 at the time, seeing power rangers anything at 3 was mind blowingly cool. 25 years later I still like turbo to a certain extent, the suits and the cars are cool, the theme song has a nice vibe to it, everything else I chalk up to the show being made for kids 6 and under.
i still like the idea of that after the ending of zeo that they overused the zeo crystal and it needed to be recharged but when divatox came to town they needed powers so they transformed the crystal into the turbo powers, as far as how the season went... well it was goofy and the ending was going on semi epic... the season itself was ok but ratings took a dive so the next season was ment to be the end only for it to be super sucessful but at the same time they ended the zordon era so that was a thing... as for phantom ranger he was in fact sentai used and other things were as well, the divatox/dimetrea thing was hinted at them being sisters and at the end of in space they kinda made divatox out to being her sister and what not... altho after the z wave they keep retconning things years later, an ok season building up to an epic season
I understand a lot of people didn't like Power Rangers Turbo but it was very memorable to me because it had someone like TJ make history to become the first African-American to be the Red Ranger at the time.
Turbo’s biggest problem for me was they changed the cast right in the middle of the season and yes them never giving an explanation of why they needed the turbo powers to replace the zeo ones irks me to this day, also your right trying to adapt a Sentai that was goofy and didn’t take itself seriously like carranger, and making it serious for power rangers was a challenge, yet somehow Disney took engine Sentai go-onger (another very silly season) and made it the darkest season of power rangers, power rangers RPM
The Turbo powers make no sense when it was specifically stated that the Zeo Powers get stronger over time. It also explains how Tommy was later able to use them in Forever Red

At least the movie had a cameo from Rita Repulsa where Divatox calls Rita for advice on how to beat the mmpr. And I always wondered if the show was trying to setup Justin to be the next Billy of the series. Which interestingly the series did eventually bring Billy back.
If anything I'm thankful for Turbo introducing 2 of the finest female power rangers of all time in my opinion. Cassie and Ashely as the pink and yellow rangers respectively were my personal favorite rangers. Had a huge crush on both of them
Shadow ranger episode is similar to a Jetman episode where they had shadow counterparts and the only ranger who didn't get a shadow counterpart was Black Condor
I feel like if they took a few moments to plan everything properly, they could have set up the Zeo powers as temporarily getting disabled in the Turbo movie, leading the Zeo team to use the Turbo powers as beta testers. Then when "Passing of the Torch" occurs, its revealed that the Zeo powers are fixed so they're able to give the next generation the Turbo powers, and thematically the Zeo team go to Eltar to support Zordon (as opposed to random robot clones!). Dimitria and the new Turbo team continue on the season while the understanding is the Zeo team is going through some serious stuff on Eltar.
Zeo being seen as meh makes me so sad. I STILL think it's top 3 best seasons of all time. Great suits, great zords, great theme song, and cool villains. Turbo is SO BAD but I actually like the movie. Of course that's also because Divatox is Hot AF and her movie suit def had some BIG reasons for me liking her growing up lol Hilary Shepard Turner is my preferred Divatox. The one reason why I like appreciate Operation Overdrive existing is that it became the 1st season to overthrow Turbo for the worst season ever
Personally, I feel like the Hasbro era has done very well. It has great characters, nicely paced plots, good vibes, yet still keeps the cheesy cringe from the old seasons.
I was all about the Power Rangers growing up, and I didn't even know about the movie until a couple of years ago when I came back to the Power Rangers fandom.
I never realized Justin was so hated by the Fandom. Cause my introduction to Power Rangers was the Turbo movie (I had it on VHS) and I loved the idea of a kid being a power ranger. I was also like 8 at the time.

Turbo was weird and had issues but it did do well with the material it was given, like Conner said, this season is not NEARLY as bad as MEGAFORCE.

I told the actor that played Justin when I was a kid, I didnt like it (we're about the same age), but it's fun now as an adult rewatching it. I feel like it was jealously.

It really is interesting, learning about all the ups & downs of the Power Rangers franchise. The 2 Power Rangers movies were my main introductions to the series (my parents didn't let me watch the show during its original run) before getting into the series proper with Lightspeed Rescue & Wild Force during the Disney era. So I have a soft spot for both movies, despite how bad they could be at times. I still love the Turbo theme. Also, 1 Power Rangers season that did the comedy to serious transition best was RPM, since its Sentai origin was a similar tone to Carranger. Can't wait til you tackle In Space with all the things it put in, to go out on a bang.

Personal theory is that, the samething that happened to Jason in the zeo happened to the rest of the rangers. The powers was unstable. Also santia was already using kids. The white ranger was a 9 year boy. The gold zeo ranger was a preteen.

I enjoy your analysis of the power ranger seasons. I wish I would have discovered your channel sooner and i can’t wait for your analysis of Power Rangers in Space. It’s one of my favorite seasons too.
The finale is my second favorite to Space. It is the first time the Power Rangers just lost. And it was great with it being a dark end and made Space even better.
Also I’ve always loved the Rescue Megazord and so happy I was able to finally get one two years ago.

The Phantom Ranger is a minor character in Carranger.
He's called VRV Master and, besides giving the rangers a power up mid season, he's mainly a comedic character.
The Phantom Ranger always heavily reminded me of the suit Charlie Sheen wore in the movie 'The Wraith", an old 80s thriller about a teenager who was killed by an evil drag racing gang who then reappears in a similar suit to avenge his death by killing them one at a time.
I'm 99.10% (lol) sure that was the inspiration for the Phantom Ranger's design.
funny enough, justin was the most competent one of the rangers. when ever something was happening, he knew it was divatox's doing, and would jump into action.

Although TJ was a solid red ranger, and the phantom was a cool, if underdeveloped character, Turbo deserves all the hate it gets. Zeo was objectively better. The best thing Turbo did was set the stage for In Space, which it did very well.
Although I disagree that Turbo wasn't all that bad, this episode, and this entire video series, are awesome and very well done! Please keep up the good work.

Surprised you didn't mention the part in the "Carlos & The Count" episode where they actually combine elements of both the Turbo & Rescue Megazords..... which never happens again for the rest of the series.
I loved the turbo movie as a kid, primarily the scene where Justin is on his own on the ship. Idk if it was cause i was roughly the same age or something but I always just saw it as so cool that like, Justin on his own started dealing with things without relying on the other rangers
Dang it I actually like Zeo! After how Mighty Morph'n ended. The better excuse would that without Rocky they can't fully use the zeo powers so turbo would be a back up, the zeo powers would later be considered really powerful and is best called upon as a last resort Rocky "Retires" but is actually on stand by as the Turbo powers is enough to get the job then, Then passing of the torch happens, Tommy and Kat leave but Adam and Tanya stay to mentor the new turbo rangers while using the zeo whenever the new team needs help, Adam and Tanya would be called away just in time for the season finale, The whole zeo team comes back for the grand finale in Power Rangers in space.
Yeah, I will die on the hill that Zeo is a top 3 season. There's EVERYTHING to love about that series. Good suits, theme, zords, and villains, it's got it all
Zeo is very solid I’d put it somewhere in the upper middle area.
The Zeo Rangers should've come back for C2D, it was bad enough Andros took out Zordon instead of Tommy. Have them show up instead of random people like Adele.
the only thing i remember as a kid from watching this movie was justin dropping his key and yelling "my key! my key! my key!"
it probably didn't last long in the movie, but to kid me it lasted like 10 minutes and felt very awkward. lol

I never caught the show as a kid, I did see the movie, had it on vhs, and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Bear in mind I was 3 at the time, seeing power rangers anything at 3 was mind blowingly cool. 25 years later I still like turbo to a certain extent, the suits and the cars are cool, the theme song has a nice vibe to it, everything else I chalk up to the show being made for kids 6 and under.

I don't remember anything about turbo except having the morphee and it was my favorite lol. The key mechanism was the coolest idea for a morpher imo
i still like the idea of that after the ending of zeo that they overused the zeo crystal and it needed to be recharged but when divatox came to town they needed powers so they transformed the crystal into the turbo powers, as far as how the season went... well it was goofy and the ending was going on semi epic... the season itself was ok but ratings took a dive so the next season was ment to be the end only for it to be super sucessful but at the same time they ended the zordon era so that was a thing... as for phantom ranger he was in fact sentai used and other things were as well, the divatox/dimetrea thing was hinted at them being sisters and at the end of in space they kinda made divatox out to being her sister and what not... altho after the z wave they keep retconning things years later, an ok season building up to an epic season
I understand a lot of people didn't like Power Rangers Turbo but it was very memorable to me because it had someone like TJ make history to become the first African-American to be the Red Ranger at the time.

Turbo’s biggest problem for me was they changed the cast right in the middle of the season and yes them never giving an explanation of why they needed the turbo powers to replace the zeo ones irks me to this day, also your right trying to adapt a Sentai that was goofy and didn’t take itself seriously like carranger, and making it serious for power rangers was a challenge, yet somehow Disney took engine Sentai go-onger (another very silly season) and made it the darkest season of power rangers, power rangers RPM
The Turbo powers make no sense when it was specifically stated that the Zeo Powers get stronger over time. It also explains how Tommy was later able to use them in Forever Red

And I always wondered if the show was trying to setup Justin to be the next Billy of the series. Which interestingly the series did eventually bring Billy back.

If anything I'm thankful for Turbo introducing 2 of the finest female power rangers of all time in my opinion. Cassie and Ashely as the pink and yellow rangers respectively were my personal favorite rangers. Had a huge crush on both of them

The two part ending with the Megazord and Base being destoryed really made this series pretty good
Zordon keeps having new powers when the previous one fails
Shadow ranger episode is similar to a Jetman episode where they had shadow counterparts and the only ranger who didn't get a shadow counterpart was Black Condor
I feel like if they took a few moments to plan everything properly, they could have set up the Zeo powers as temporarily getting disabled in the Turbo movie, leading the Zeo team to use the Turbo powers as beta testers. Then when "Passing of the Torch" occurs, its revealed that the Zeo powers are fixed so they're able to give the next generation the Turbo powers, and thematically the Zeo team go to Eltar to support Zordon (as opposed to random robot clones!). Dimitria and the new Turbo team continue on the season while the understanding is the Zeo team is going through some serious stuff on Eltar.

Turbo is SO BAD but I actually like the movie. Of course that's also because Divatox is Hot AF and her movie suit def had some BIG reasons for me liking her growing up lol

Personally, I feel like the Hasbro era has done very well. It has great characters, nicely paced plots, good vibes, yet still keeps the cheesy cringe from the old seasons.
