George Orwell On Sexuality and Liberation | 1984 | My first, (and terrible) video

- George Orwell condemns power systems for their exploitation of Sexuality in his seminal work '1984'.
For those who have never read this work, their image of it, is one of benighted scenes and a shadowy pathos. It is that too. Besides this though, Orwell is able to conjure up some of the most beautiful imagery and sustain a pitch of tenderness and love which shocks most readers who finally dip into its pages.
All over the world, political systems with fascist tendencies have always suppressed the body to control the human spirit.
Orwell indicts this dangerous tendency and implicitly calls us to arms, to embrace our bodies as a necessary revolt against power itself.

My absolute pleasure. You’ve taught me something today and for that I’m grateful. I look forward to learning more. Sent you an email too.
I didn’t know Orwell explored sexual theory. Amazing interpretation Orwell had on the matter and wonderful short vid to explain it. Thank you.
Your very welcome Markus. Yes well Orwell as you know was concerned with Power - and since sexuality and power are inseparable, he explored sexuality with great vision. You should read (or re-read) '1984', with a focus on his ideas about human nature. You won't be disappointed.
@@TheWrittenWorldSubscribeNow Sex is used and misused in our most prevalent form of propaganda, adverts.
In a world where sex is a tool to drill products and God into your head, Orwell’s 1984 is one of the rare books where sexuality is seen not only as a mark of spiritual health, but one of physical as well.
Pharmakon Completely. For Orwell, there is no Human Liberty without Sexual Liberty.
Then what is the point of complaining about being sexually desired? That’s the only part I did not understand.
"God into your head" How?
Brilliant work! Well Done. Can't wait for The Next Video.
I find 1984 almost like a moral code on sex. But Orwell did not explore childhood development and the effects of abuse, including sexual, and by caregivers, in childhood.
Incredible work. Great literary analysis. keep it coming please! Subscribed!
I wish I had a beautiful, masculine voice like yours. It's highly impactful! Well, I believe that pleasure is not restricted solely to sexuality; it is a multifaceted phenomenon.
👏👏👏👏
Orwell was an orientalist to the bone I don't admit his works and thank u.
