P MF I think 70% of people would agree the Wii was garbage that are still gaming, aka not grandma buying a Wii for Wii sports, though Nintendo was brilliant with mass appeal of the Wii. also it is kinda funny, Vita reigns supreme, lol. and 3ds isn't as good as DS/GBA
yeah, but we never got a true Animal Crossing or Fire Emblem on the WiiU. We got amiibo Festival and Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE (the first very disapointing, and the later an excellent Persona-type new IP using Fire Emblem elements)
It's not really an issue it's just it's vast library isn't as vast as people believe it is and the hardware itself is pretty crap. There really are less than 10 must play games on 3DS and most of those 10 games are from the same 2 franchises (Pokemon and Fire Emblem)
His hate for the 3DS is sooo cute. He still can't handle how wrong he was. Also Wii-U was better than Vita. :p (Okay now I am just goading him on our different personal biases.)
+Spleenzorio I am pretty sure the 3DS hate is, if not a pure act, overblown for the the comedic effect bases on what I was referencing. I mean given the name of the show it just makes his persons would express that attitude.
Wii U has wayyy more fantastic games that you can only play on that platform. Vita is a mobile indie machine (not that indies arent awesome, I just prefer to play those on PC).
I thought this new show would be just Colin belaboring the same talking points he's been interjecting on podcasts for the past decade. But I can see that this new show allows him to research and craft and a well-informed argument. I can dig it.
Don't get me wrong, "colin was right" is awesome and I'm glad he's not ""belaboring the same talking points from other shows"......I was talking more about the presentation, not the content. He seems anemic on gamescast, but on this show its like he drank a pot of coffee 1st. lol
This show is shaping up even better than I expected, great episode Colin. Short and concise. I really hope the Switch does well, it looks as though it has the potential to be a great console.
Lorenzo Gomez I am a fan of how well constructed the words are, but what Sterling does right is talk slow and sometimes talk about random shit like Cornflake Homonculus. Colin has the writing down, the presentation needs to feel genuine. I want Colin's take on this, most of us already know of Switch's situation already. Either way, I'm very excited to see what comes next.
Josef Stalin Yeah, I agree. Colin is very intelligent when it comes to vocabulary and where to place his words. Like i said, just might take a while to get used to.
once he gets into a rhythm it's really good. The blatant reading off a screen is a little off putting but the inclusion of graphics and videos really helped. Honestly that's the way I see this going, just talking over a video, not that it's a bad thing. In fact I'd probably prefer it. Having Colin to ourselves for 7 minutes a week is a delight, tho.
FrodoBaggins1926 SAMESIES(!!) *could mayyybe, be more engaging? I get it's more talkshow(ish) format -but maybe talk more to us, than moderately essayist style(?)
Colin, holy shit. The growth from the three pilots to this premiere is incredible. You've really found your groove! This is easily my new favorite KF show. I've never regretted my monthly pledge. This is the sort of content I'm proud to monetarily support. Thank you!
Love it! Pro Tip: Record your voice over sitting at the desk with the same mic and you won't be able to tell the difference in the audio as drastically as you can near the end of this episode. Keep up the amazing work guys!
Best episode yet. I'm glad to see you took notes on the pacing as it was darn near perfect here. One minor audio glitch (I'm assuming you had to record some extra dialogue after-the-fact), but otherwise... great job.
oreofestar Oreo Festar? Have to agree. Let's actually be critical of these machines instead of labeling everything as great or shitty. 3DS was worse than Wii U when it came to being technologically behind. Not tied to an account that's accesible easily, making for a bad transfer system (I had my Vita stolen, just had to buy a new one, change my password, and re-login to regain everything.) Too many probs to name in the time I care to talk about it.
Topher M More like a lot of knowledgeable gamers here. We know when something is lacking in service. If you don't know how much PS3 sucked for the first four years then you wouldn't understand.
Sanchez Weeell to be fair, Call of Duty is always really great quality, I very rarely even play COD but the one thing I can give to the dev teams is that COD always runs, looks and plays extremely well, so it is technically great quality
Nintendos doing it wrong marketing it as a home console. The device IS a handheld that had a TV doc and it should be treated as such. That means the hardware won't appeal to AAA third parties- so no COD or BF, but if they get sports games and the third party that 3DS got (more niche but beloved Japanese titles), then it could still do really well
Alex Townley But the device itself is the tablet. Calling switch a one console is like calling the Wii u a handheld just because of the limited off tv play
Alex Townley 99% of the switch trailer showed it being played on the go. Nintendo is fucking up by saying its a home console first and foremost, but showing the exact opposite
The problem with marketing it exclusively as a home console is Nintendo isn't going to be able to compete with the power of Sony or Microsoft hardware, which in itself lacks appeal for AAA third-party developers. However, if I can play a slightly graphically downgraded version of home console Skyrim or NBA 2K on the go, I'd buy that in heartbeat, and I think that would have some appeal to the AAA developers. Making a home console/handheld hybrid at a $300 price point seems to be an attempt to market the Switch as a premium piece of hardware, while also trying to avoid direct competition with the PS4 and the Xbox One/Scorpio. I don't think anyone would ever choose the Switch to play multiplayer shooters, though. Even if it was primarily a home console, it lacks the power to be appealing as hardware alone. However, if they can provide even an average home console experience while providing a premium handheld experience (handheld Skyrim, et al) with a decent battery life, I think they'll find some success.
i agree it's a portable first (only real difference between home and handheld is power and portability, and if they just showed the games running on a tv without the mobile feature it would not get this hype). no matter the screen its connected to it is running on mobile hardware - otherwise i would consider the gameboy advance a home console since i have a gameboy player.... it is more for marketing - 3DS is selling better than wiiU, handhelds havent sold well for over $250, and a handheld consumer isn't going to like to see $60 games on the shelves. so it can make some sense marketing wise except for people comparing the power of home consoles. i will still see it as mobile hardware that can at best run in turbo mode when not running on battery.... as long as they pick the right marketing for the mass market they should be in a good spot. i do still prefer this to having to buy two consoles to get their games
this is exactly the show Colin has needed since kinda funny started. It goes towards his strengths as an individual. It allows to show his strength as a writer and allows him to rant on one specific subject.
Dear Colin, Thank you. This is brilliant. Besides the obvious fact that you are very knowledgeable, this is a dense video. I found myself having to track back a couple of times because my concentration lapsed because I am so used to other content on youtube that is mostly fluff with only 5% content. Your writing prowess has never been more evident than in this. (also, great editing!) I have found myself attracted to more insightful cinematic educational videos and other types of "video essays" as of late. I have to say, this is my new favorite series. Despite it being only one fully public episode thus far, it is evident that you are putting an immense amount of effort into this project. I am proud to say, Colin was right. Thanks and cheers, Matthew from Texas
I love this step out of the typical KF offerings. While it does feel stiff, I think this is mostly because we RARELY see Colin outside of the back and forth conversation style format. I would argue that even since BEYOND days, Colin has always had someone to generally introduce the topic while he expands on it. Keep up the good work Colin. Looking forward to more episodes.
Excellent new product with Colin Was Right. You took the feedback from your pilot season and refined something that was good into something even better. Congrats and I hope to view many more in the future.
The delivery of lines seemed much more natural then the first video. Congrats Colin on the new show! Hope to see it get better and better as time goes on.
Great video and wonderful insight, Colin! I did notice an audio fluctuation around 6:45, though. Can't wait to see more and keep up the inspiring work.
Colin I hope you are reading the comments so that you see how positive of a response you are getting. I absolutely loved it and am really excited that there is a new show on the channel. When you put up the pilot a lot of people were saying they did not like how scripted it was but personally this is my favourite part of the show, you get to be prepped and clearly state your point and for those who want unscripted there are thousands of your podcasts for that. Good job Colin, keep it up, happy new year and I hope you see this.
Finally a Colin I can get on board with. I much prefer 8 minutes of focused discussion about a single topic than 1:30 to 2 hours of Colin and Greg talking myriad things in PS I Love You, which are often repeated from stuff they have already talked about in the Gamescast. Great idea, guys! I hope Colin Was Right becomes a success. Looking forward to more!
Colin is good at this. I mean very good at this. For all the things we love about KF's open, intimate, and mostly off-the-rails podcasts Colin ratchets their content quality up a few notches with this show. It's concise. It's focused. It's fun. High fives all around.
I like this a lot! Production quality feels on point. No clip, Game makers toolkit, total biscuit vids, Colin was right makes me pretty excited for games coverage in 2017.
Love the format of the show. Short, Good information and Colin's opinion about the subject. 10 to 15 minutes it's a good length for the show. Nice job guys!
The Switch reveal is tonight and wanted to re-watch this. The use of the controller as a visual aid was awesome. Loving the show Colin! The format is different from what you guys normally put out and it adds some variety to what KF produces. Great Job on the editing too. Looks great. -Abester Rod
These are getting better and better Colin. Not sure if this one was recorded after the first, but I know a lot of the same comments kept popping up on the Patreon page and it seems like you've listened and adapted extremely well.
Really glad you're doing a show like this Colin, I can't wait to see more! I thought that you're editing was really good especially for only learning so recently. My only critique would be not to rely too heavily on trailers we've already seen before, showing them is good but don't be afraid to cut back to you again so it's easier for us to concentrate on what you're saying (plus we get to see that 10/10 face of yours more)
Great work Collin! First 3 test ones were great and this one really shows the results of you making good use of the feedback making it even better than those.
After watching only the first Colin Was Right and then this one, i noticed significant improvement on Colin's part of delivering/reading better :) Good job!
Glad CWR is public now! And you can see the improvements from the pilots. Love the episode, the format and the editing is on point Colin!. Switch got me hyped, I want Jan 12th to come to know if it will be a console worth buying on release day
Really loving the format of the show Colin, great cocktail of facts, opinion, jokes, speculation and a sprinkling of game history. I know you've never liked being infront of the camera but this show proves how good of a personality you are. Editing and set design on point too.
Every episode has been an improvement, really glad to see you continuing this. I'm rolling the dice on the Switch as well, but this may be the last gamble I make on Nintendo. Happy to see this join the Kinda Funny lineup!
This is awesome Colin. Love the scripted layout of the show. Wouldn't mind seeing future episodes tackle more than one topic. Also loved the jokes. I literally laughed out loud when you brought out the NES cord. Keep up the great content.
Great job! I really like it and am so glad you're doing this! I also appreciate how different the 'delivery' of this must feel/be for you. Awesome, bud. 👍🏻😘
This is nice, and was very funny at times. I like how short and concise it is: a perfect way to kill a few minutes while still getting clever insight into the industry. I do prefer the gamescast and other shows where everything is less scripted, but I have a feeling this will grow on me. Keep it up, Colin!
This was a great way to start a series, I've always wanted more bite sized content from Kinda Funny because I don't always have the time to listen to a podcast, can't wait to see more of this!
"The 3DS isn't much better."
Um, if you say so, Colin.
That comment was bullshit. "The Wii was garbage and the 3DS isn't much better" what??
P MF I think 70% of people would agree the Wii was garbage that are still gaming, aka not grandma buying a Wii for Wii sports, though Nintendo was brilliant with mass appeal of the Wii. also it is kinda funny, Vita reigns supreme, lol. and 3ds isn't as good as DS/GBA
I would expect a bit more from colin. The Wii was garbage is a lazy statement. And 3DS not being much better (than garbage) is bullshit.
Compared to the DS sales 3ds didn't sell well
3ds is instantly better than DS when it can play the entire DS catalogue, just putting things into perspective
Pokemon, animal crossing & fire emblem on an HD console is what excites me about Switch.
Swedish GamerDad but none of those games were on Wii U
WELCOME
I'd rather continue playing Animal Crossing Wild World. We need a Game boy micro style Nintendo DS lite.
Sweed, but Wii U didn't have an Animal CROSSING game.
yeah, but we never got a true Animal Crossing or Fire Emblem on the WiiU. We got amiibo Festival and Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE (the first very disapointing, and the later an excellent Persona-type new IP using Fire Emblem elements)
Metroid!
And a more grown up Mario game like Mario 64... Which WiiU didn't have...
I'll never understand his issue with 3DS
It's not really an issue it's just it's vast library isn't as vast as people believe it is and the hardware itself is pretty crap. There really are less than 10 must play games on 3DS and most of those 10 games are from the same 2 franchises (Pokemon and Fire Emblem)
Gean C I could see your point up until you ruined it with "less than 10 must play games."
Yaeven I'm not wrong though. We all know what the great titles are in the 3DS library because we own or owned them at some point.
I can think of AT LEAST 25-30 games that are fantastic on the 3DS. Respectfully, you're wrong.
Christopher Gatto Dude the PS3 doesn't have 25 MUST PLAY amazing games. You must have "must play" titles mistaken with good titles.
His hate for the 3DS is sooo cute. He still can't handle how wrong he was.
Also Wii-U was better than Vita. :p (Okay now I am just goading him on our different personal biases.)
I like Colin, but he's a Sony fanboy so what do you expect :P
I feel like you've watched Larry Bundy Jr..
+Spleenzorio I am pretty sure the 3DS hate is, if not a pure act, overblown for the the comedic effect bases on what I was referencing. I mean given the name of the show it just makes his persons would express that attitude.
+Spleenzorio makes sense his persona would*
Wii U has wayyy more fantastic games that you can only play on that platform.
Thanks! -Colin
Kinda Funny Games Love the Scripted Nature. The change of pace is much appreciated and was certainly needed. #ColinWasRight
Don't get me wrong, "colin was right" is awesome and I'm glad he's not ""belaboring the same talking points from other shows"......I was talking more about the presentation, not the content. He seems anemic on gamescast, but on this show its like he drank a pot of coffee 1st. lol
Why was bad footage of Mario Galaxy used? It only looks like that if you're running it on 480p with the RCA cables.
Why does Mario Galaxy look like it's 480p? Because it's 480p. =) -Colin
people seem to forget that because it looked so good. I definitely did
I was asking why it looks bad. I know it's 480p. It looks like it might have been an interlacing problem in Adobe Premiere.
William Sease it does look better than this. It was just an oversight in editing.
While that footage was on-screen, he was making the point that powerful hardware isn't what makes a great game. Get it now?
This show is shaping up even better than I expected, great episode Colin. Short and concise. I really hope the Switch does well, it looks as though it has the potential to be a great console.
Thanks! And I agree; I'm hopeful about Switch. -Colin
It might take a while to get used to scripted Colin but Im looking forward to the future of the show.
Lorenzo Gomez Yeah Colin needs to learn how to read off an outline so it can still seem conversational.
Like i said, just might take a while to get used to.
ok i ain't trippen, i'm glad i'm not the only one who noticed issues with his delivery

Kinda weird watching scripted Colin, but I like it. I look forward to more episodes!
Btw who does the editing for this? It's really slick.
OD Music I think colin edits this episodes himself
Colin does. He's using this show to better his editing skills. twitter.com/notaxation/status/816786938434699264
Colin is
Really because he read IGN reviews for years in the same style.
Watch his The Last of Us review.
Dammit, I just want Colin to be in a suit for this show.
I like it.
FrodoBaggins1926 SAMESIES(!!)
*could mayyybe, be more engaging?
I get it's more talkshow(ish) format -but maybe talk more to us, than moderately essayist style(?)
FrodoBaggins1926 Or they could do a meeean video essay!!
Colin, holy shit. The growth from the three pilots to this premiere is incredible. You've really found your groove! This is easily my new favorite KF show. I've never regretted my monthly pledge. This is the sort of content I'm proud to monetarily support. Thank you!
Love this. The editing is tight. Great job Colin!
One minor audio glitch (I'm assuming you had to record some extra dialogue after-the-fact), but otherwise... great job.
You assume correctly! -Colin
great video. love the open minded approach, something most people cant do these days
This was a great first episode, I'm excited for more!
This was awesome Colin, you stay dropping that knowledge. Congrats on the new show, can't wait to see more.
The delivery sounds forced still, but not as badly as the pilot reveal of this. Pretty dope, Colin.
Colin Was Right. I think a unified account across multiple devices with achievements that carry over is also a must.
The show has potential, we will see how it developes. Good luck Colin!
Its='s pretty awesome to know that Colin did all of the writing, shooting, editing, and performance in this video. Great job.
personally love this. This is what I needed in life. John Oliver for gaming.
I think Kyle Bosman is more like a John Oliver for gaming.
RedVIII Watch out, a certain developer may get butthurt over your comment.
Congrats Colin. This show is awesome. I can really see The Rubin Report as a huge influence. Love it.
Keep up the great work!
Who's doing the editing for this series? Good job on the first episode.
Colin I believe
Colin found his sweet spot with content like this. Great job!
3DS was great, what are you talking about lol
DS lite and Gameboy advance were great. 3DS was good if not okay.
probably talking about from a hardware prospective...as much as I love the games its a terrible machine
oreofestar Oreo Festar?
This is great, Colin. A lot of people commented about how it felt overly scripted, but you've definitely sorted that out. I'd watch these all day long
I want this console to success so much, but I would absolutely fucking love to play Maro games on my PS4. I can dream.
this is perfect, guys. thanks for this show. can't wait to see some guests on it.
Nintendos doing it wrong marketing it as a home console. The device IS a handheld that had a TV doc and it should be treated as such. So at 6:48 is the mic level dropped or was it added later?
Yeah most def a step up from the clips he did over on Patreon.
Awesome show Colin. I'm looking forward to the future of it and seeing how you grow and improve with it!
You just need to work on your scripted voice but I like the format
Dear Colin,
Thank you. This is brilliant. Besides the obvious fact that you are very knowledgeable, this is a dense video. Weird hearing Colin talk from a script..
Hope to get them on UA-cam weekly! Thanks guys...
Shouldn't this be called Colin is probably Right
No because Colin is, has, and always will be right.
Bravelander no, that is the joke. it isn't serious
Except for the article about how the Vita will suceed.
I love this step out of the typical KF offerings. While it does feel stiff, I think this is mostly because we RARELY see Colin outside of the back and forth conversation style format. love the writing, delivery, and production value!
Great episode! Your delivery and editing is getting better every time. Keep em coming :D
Thanks for the time and effort spent on this. It doesn't go unnoticed. Good stuff...
Great video and wonderful insight, Colin! I did notice an audio fluctuation around 6:45, though. Can't wait to see more and keep up the inspiring work.
Colin Was Right is turning out much better than I expected. 👌🏻

No clip, Game makers toolkit, total biscuit vids, Colin was right makes me pretty excited for games coverage in 2017.
This is great. Colin's perspective is my favorite part of the KF team and now it's boiled down to a quick and dense show
I wonder if this was all one take. Kudos for not fumbling around with words and getting it perfect!
Cool segment, always like when Colin is realistic yet optimistic about Nintendo.
Awesome show! Can't wait for more, love the b-roll
Love the format Colin, and the cadence will only get better as the show goes on
This is fantastic! Great work Colin! I very much look forward to more Colin Was Right.
Love the format of the show. Short, Good information and Colin's opinion about the subject. 10 to 15 minutes it's a good length for the show. Nice job guys!
Cool to see you on your own little show Colin! Can't wait to see what other subjects you're going to talk about.
Such a great job Colin! I'm happy to see you've made improvements to the show :) keep up the great work!
Love it! Best of all the shows so far Colin. I think you've found an enthusiastic way to speak that's engaging to watch.
rofl at the NES mini cord, these are getting better and better Colin
Incredible Colin. It's improved a ton since the first pilot, which I still really enjoyed. Keep up the good work!
Much enjoy this format, and great show. Keep at it. Great talking points and a job well done. Looking forward to seeing more of this, Colin.
The Switch reveal is tonight and wanted to re-watch this. The use of the controller as a visual aid was awesome. Loving the show Colin! The format is different from what you guys normally put out and it adds some variety to what KF produces. Great Job on the editing too. Looks great. -Abester Rod
Loved this episode. All the feedback you received in the pilots was definitely used! Great job, Colin!
These are getting better and better Colin. Not sure if this one was recorded after the first, but I know a lot of the same comments kept popping up on the Patreon page and it seems like you've listened and adapted extremely well.
This is great. Well produced, well written, well acted. Truly a great job, keep it up.
Loving it.
You'll get more natural on script as time goes on - you were already doing so by the end of the video.
Thanks a lot Colin!
Great job, Colin! It's well edited, feels more natural than the pilot and is (unsurprisingly) very informative. I look forward to future episodes. :)
Hell yes Colin! This is great. Look forward to the future of this show.
Great product on Colin! Excellently executed for a first timer (you and the team). I do hope to have more episodes!
Really glad you're doing a show like this Colin, I can't wait to see more! I thought that you're editing was really good especially for only learning so recently. My only critique would be not to rely too heavily on trailers we've already seen before, showing them is good but don't be afraid to cut back to you again so it's easier for us to concentrate on what you're saying (plus we get to see that 10/10 face of yours more)
Very enjoyable first official episode. Congratulations Colin!
Great work Collin! First 3 test ones were great and this one really shows the results of you making good use of the feedback making it even better than those.
One step closer to a Colin x Sterling x Bosman collab!
Awesome job, Colin! Great improvement from the pilots, which I really enjoyed! I'm really happy for you!
Such a well-written and well thought out editorial. Thumbs up!
After watching only the first Colin Was Right and then this one, i noticed significant improvement on Colin's part of delivering/reading better :) Good job!
Glad CWR is public now! And you can see the improvements from the pilots. Love the episode, the format and the editing is on point Colin!. Switch got me hyped, I want Jan 12th to come to know if it will be a console worth buying on release day
Love the show. Really well edited. Very solid production. Good job Colin!
This is so awesome! Thank you so much for all the amazing content, Colin. You're the best!
This is now going to be my new favourite show on UA-cam full stop.
Massive improvement on the first one. "Fucking look at it" had me laughing for a while. I'll be looking forward to the next ep.
Great video Colin, can't wait to see where the series goes from here!
I really missed "reviewvoice Colin". Great to have it back!
Dude!!! That was great.Way to go Col. Can't wait to see where you take this thing.
Colin, this is great! Awesome job. Looking forward to the next one!
Definitely great to see Colin doing what he does best, love the presentation and personality shining here
Always love to see Colin's opinion on video games. Great show can't wait to see the others.
Love the new show man. Appreciate the entertainment you always provide.
Great job Colin! The show is getting better each episode.
This is nice, and was very funny at times. I like how short and concise it is: a perfect way to kill a few minutes while still getting clever insight into the industry. I do prefer the gamescast and other shows where everything is less scripted, but I have a feeling this will grow on me. Keep it up, Colin!
Strong "Last Week Tonight" vibes. Love it! Keep up the good work.
This was a great way to start a series, I've always wanted more bite sized content from Kinda Funny because I don't always have the time to listen to a podcast, can't wait to see more of this!
Colin - it gets better every week. Looking forward to the next!
