Generally, manufacturer-recommended sizing is off by a size, sometimes 2. They tend to recommend a larger size than riders need. Most would recommend 58-62cm effective top tube length instead of 57-58cm (typically) for a rider of your height. Makes sense that you went with the 56cm size: you now have the freedom to use somewhat longer (11-12cm) stems, instead of limiting yourself to 7-9cm stems.
Good to know that a 700 x 42 tire will fit. I'm currently on a Marin Gestalt 2019. I also changed my gearing up front to 46 x 30 but I live in a hilly part of California so there are times that I am in a 30 x 32 combo. I also have a set of 650b wheels with 47mm wide tubeless tires. The Gestalt won't fit wider 700c due to the geometry. There seems to be a plug in the down tube, probably for dropper post internal routing. Do you think it would be possible to run the rear brake housing thru that? Thanks for the vid. Looking to get this next year.
nice bike dude. just a quick question. does your marin nicasio 2 has an under tthe down tube bottle cage mount ?. in your video i could something similiar to that.
That is the most beautiful and capable all round road/gravel/adventure bikes for less than $2000 in the world. Seriously sick bike, man
Beautiful bike well done, and quite a cheap but quality bike.
