Hi, I am a ten year old girl about to go to fifth grade in a couple of weeks and I love these classroom setup videos. It gives me so many ideas for when I grow up because ever sense first grade I've wanted to be a teacher because my first grade teacher would let me read to the class and teach a couple of lessons from a book. I've always loved helping fellow students and reading to them. You have gave me so many great ideas and tips on how to do things and i look up to you! You inspire me to be the best I can be! From: Ania Fields
It was so cute when you were introducing the red cabinet and your son put his hand on his hip and gestured to the cabinet, l ike a game show host pointing out a prize. He was so in-tune with you!
I just found out that I will be teaching for the first time ever and I have to decorate my classroom. Thank you for the awesome (and honest) videos! I have totally been binge watching them all night!
Your room is so warm and inviting! I’m jealous of all the space you have. I just started working in my room today, and I can sympathize with the little messes. I’m excited to see your finished product! BTW, your kids are adorable!
Been teaching for 10 (or 11?) years and am starting at a new school next year. These videos are super inspirational and my new classroom is going to be my best yet because all of the ideas I'm stealing!
Your classroom looks amazing! I'm a first year teacher and I can't wait until I'm able to get into my classroom to set it up. It's a little daunting, but I'm excited. One thought I had: If you put lamps on the tables in your island area, maybe you could tape the extension cord down with gaffers tape and then cover it with a small area rug? Not sure if that would work or not.
Love that red storage unit. The wooden bins and mason jars.😍 Love your command center. I’m so impressed with how much you have done. Yes, even with 2 kids. I stayed home with my four and went back to work when my youngest went to kindergarten. I know for a fact if I had tried to set up a classroom and film a video that the footage may have been used against me in a court of law. 🤣 Three are in college now and we still have our moments. You are an inspiring teacher and an amazing mom. Thanks for sharing. Enjoying your videos!
Oh my goodness - you just made me cry a little bit... Thank you!! My babies are just my world, and that's what I remind myself about each of my students - they are somebody's world. Plus, who can deny that a random dance party (to the Moana soundtrack, no less) is just perfect for productivity?!?!
Omg I wish I had a teacher like you when I was young!! It just blows my mind how above and beyond you have gone to make your classroom as cool and comfortable as you have!! It’s amazing!!!
So excited to find a relatable teacher on UA-cam; I am also a a high School teacher/Mom. Love being able to see how you balance everything and to look for inspiration. x
I loved this series, I am currently working toward being a middle school teacher (hopefully math) but I loved this set up it speaks to my future more then the elementary classroom set ups! Thanks for awesome ideas!!
Love seeing how your classroom is coming together! I just got into my classroom on Wednesday, but since my schedule at my second job is all over the place, I won't be able to start fully organizing until Tuesday! SO excited for the new school year!
At my old school we would filter the fluorescent lights by using plastic tablecloth rolls... we would drape the tablecloth by sticking it in the ceiling panels to hold it and then drape it across the lights (but not touching the light) and across the ceiling. I dont think i explained it that well but its a great way to soften the light and if you get colored tablecloth it tints the light that color
My littlest is 4 1/2, and I'm really hoping he makes it into the Cooperative preschool that is actually INSIDE the high school where I'll be teaching. I can just imagine it now - mid-day cuddles for both of us to ease the transition (back to work for me, starting Pre-K/school for him.)
I would LOVE to have my kids on campus with me - I really hope that works out for you guys!! I do feel good, though, knowing that my boy will start K at a school where I know many of the teachers... but cuddles midday would be amazing...
Wow the dedication and personally u put into your room is amazing. I loveeeeee it. I'm a sec yr teacher and mom and I love classroom set up process but it is hard and it's always a work in progress. U rock. Keep it up. Thanks
You could get 2-3 more hanging lights like the ones over your desk to hang from the ceiling over your island desk. Running the cords over the floor even with covers may be too much of an inconvenience for the flow of your classroom. Kids trip over their own feet let alone something running over the floor.
The easiest way to get those old labels off is to hit them with a best gun first! It loosens the adhesive and then you can go in with the goo gone and take off whatever didn’t come off fully.
Have you ever looked up light filters for the fluorescent lights? They come in a ton of colors and are super helpful for those students/teachers who are sensitive to light.
I love your natural and calm decor! And yes, can't leave the house without snacks and wipes no matter how old the kids are 😄 I have a 4 and 7 year old.
for the tables in the middle behind the couch, to get outlets back there, you can buy long power strips and you duck tape the cord down to the floor to hide the cord but still have outlets💗😊
It is super easy to make - just type it, print it out, and put it in a cheap frame! Then you can write on the glass in expo marker! If things like this aren't super easy, I'll never keep up with them...
I am diggin the hanging lamps you have!!! I wish that I could do just lamps and christmas lighs in my room. Sadly, I have only one window and it is just not enough natural light to help. So I am stuck.
already commented but I also want to say thank you so much for putting that safe space sticker thing on the small bulletin board! things like that mean so much to lgbtqa+ students like me :)
You should get the filters for the ceiling lights. I don’t remember what they are called but you put them on top of the lights on the ceiling and it helps filter the light and it helps prevent migraines.
Thank you! It's so funny - I must be one of the last people to know about these filters... I think I'm going to try the cream color ones and see how it goes!
I love the annotation caddies, where were they purchased? Also, your kids and classroom are so cute. You should make shirts with your son’s life wisdoms!
I’d love to hear more about your annotation kits and how you use them! I am going to borrow this idea for my own classroom, but would like to hear more.
This will be my first time with a kit for each table - I'm also going to add to them laminated bookmark "cheat sheets" with specifics on them... I'll make a video about it when I do ;) Basically, I find that the most fun we always have as a class is when we can all connect with a text by writing allllll over it, so I'm aiming to facilitate that as much as possible!
I am a big fan of your UA-cam channel I just started watching you I love the way you decorate your classroom I can't wait to watch you teach the class my name is Jeannie
Migraines started since having kids ....Oh no! Yes, getting happy meals is “the right thing to do”. Your classroom is coming together nicely. I like the board paper. I mentioned on my channel that I want a “nature theme” with brown boards but it’s inspired partly by the fact that I have a huge roll of that brown Kraft paper that I was planning on using but I want to get that paper you have! It looks so good!! Ah man!! 🤦🏾♀️
Ok - good news is that the paper is pretty cheap! $20-25 on Amazon and I still have a bunch left over... maybe you could use it along with the Kraft paper??
I think it would be cute in the command center where you want the kids to put thier suggestions to out right above that "hub?" for how about you and to be kind of a funny pun for high schoolers and their texting. I am a high schooler my self wanting to be a teacher more than anything
Hey Marie, what did you use for that wood grain wall covering. Love all your videos. I’m a 15 year veteran teacher first year to high school English. You’re a life saver!
random comment, sorry, but there’s a bootle of goo gone in my driver’s ed classroom and for the longest time I wondered what it was used for... thank you so much for the demonstration! I was too lazy to look it up and scared that it’d be a dumb question to ask someone
Those little guys are from Wal-Mart and I'm pretty sure I have them on the wall with push pins at the moment... I'll go back with really thin nails and hammer them in at an angle...
Ok. quick question, where did you get your annotation crates? Next, I wrote a Donor’s Choose proposal for my light filters. I also started having migraines after my kids.
Can you talk about your walls with the wooden look? How you did it? Are schools usually okay with that? Id love to do that in my classroom once i finish college.
Haley Kenworthy I was interested in that too as she’s not mentioned it in the previous setup videos, just skimmed over them when panning around. I’d have rather seen them being setup than stickers being scraped off a drawer 😂
How do you get your lights up and out of the way on the ceiling without OSHA going crazy? In fact, how do you hang anything from the ceiling? I have some more heavy-duty things I'd love to hang, but I'd love some guidance. For example, a student hand made me a piñata (Spanish teacher), but it's heavy and star-shaped, so I'm not sure how to hang it or how else to use it to decorate in our classroom. Our lights are not an option. Any advice?
What grade do you teach? I just found you while watching others teachers. I love this kinds of videos because I don’t feel alone in how excited is to fix your classroom in the beginning of the school year. I teach preschool
Hi! Your classroom is turning awesome! Question: What is the refrigerator board for? Why is it called this way? I've heard this a couple of times, but can't quite figure it out. There's nothing like that in France. Bon courage ! J'attends la prochaine vidéo avec impatience. :)-
She’s using the refrigerator board for displaying student work. It might be an American thing, but my mom always put our drawings or school work we were proud of on the refrigerator door with magnets when we were growing up
Thanks, Melody! Yes, we do that in France too. We put drawings on the refrigerator door and student work on the walls, but we don't have this expression at all. :)
I try to decorate my room to look cozy and comfy but the students literally do whatever it takes to destroy anything I bring into the room. I had a sub one day and students broke my lamps and bulbs in lamps, stole everything out if my mini fridge, stole the key to my file cabinet and took the hall passes out of my desk. They stick gum everywhere, including on my classroom decorations or holiday figurines, and they tear up my window coverings. They are disrespectful animals.
Not a huge fan of the book pages around the white board borders...I think they make the room look very cluttered. Everything else looks lovely, although I would reconsider the sofa because you never know what bugs kids transport with them to school.
I'm not a teacher and I'm not sure why UA-cam keeps suggesting these videos to me, but I'm down for it and subbed.
Tayen Mellick saaaame. I haven’t even been in school for 5 years. 😂

I tell you, my son is going to be some sort of entertainer when he gets older - can't get that kid away from the spotlight.. haha
So hard to find high school classroom ideas, but I can stop looking because yours are brilliant!
You're too kind! Thank you!!!
I just found out that I will be teaching for the first time ever and I have to decorate my classroom. Thank you for the awesome (and honest) videos! I have totally been binge watching them all night!
You just crack me up! You make me want to go back to school after retiring. Have an awesome school year. I'll be looking forward to your posts.
Your room is so warm and inviting! I’m jealous of all the space you have. I just started working in my room today, and I can sympathize with the little messes. I’m excited to see your finished product!
BTW, your kids are adorable!
Thank you so much!! Yeah, my kids are pretty funny - little hams!
I wish I had you as a teacher... you seem really nice and the fidget balls are a great idea!!
i saw the safe space magnet and we love a supportive sisterr💗
Been teaching for 10 (or 11?) years and am starting at a new school next year. These videos are super inspirational and my new classroom is going to be my best yet because all of the ideas I'm stealing!

Removing labels: hairdryer! Warming up the glue on the back and never scrape again! Magic!
I loved this series, I am currently working toward being a middle school teacher (hopefully math) but I loved this set up it speaks to my future more then the elementary classroom set ups! Thanks for awesome ideas!!
I love your room, especially the hanging lights. I also teach 10th grade English/Language Arts.
You’re class room furniture looks awesome

So excited for final tour of classroom! It looks amazing so far xx 💕💕

It's looking good! I like the remote control light system (will get one) and how you hung the black crates on the wall over your desk.
Thank you!! Isn't that remote cool?! And way cheaper than I thought it would be - I'll link it to the lighting video I plan to do in a couple weeks...
Wow the dedication and personally u put into your room is amazing. I loveeeeee it. I'm a sec yr teacher and mom and I love classroom set up process but it is hard and it's always a work in progress. U rock. Keep it up. Thanks
I love 3M command Velcro hangers. They support a lot of the wood signs in my house and classroom. It may work for the signs you want to hang.
Putting a cover on the couch is smart!
Right?! I love teenagers, but they're pretty gross sometimes... ;)
I wish you were my teacher. You're so cool!
Amazon Has light Filters . They have magnetic tabs that stick up and filter the lights
Thank you so much! I just looked and I think I'm going to try the cream colored ones - I'll put an update in another video ;)
I use the light covers in my classroom which helps tremendously preventing migraines.

Have you ever looked up light filters for the fluorescent lights? They come in a ton of colors and are super helpful for those students/teachers who are sensitive to light.
I stuck a magnet on all of my remotes and stuck them to the whiteboard so I didn’t lose them. Just the little self adhesive magnets
I love your natural and calm decor! And yes, can't leave the house without snacks and wipes no matter how old the kids are 😄 I have a 4 and 7 year old.
Thank you! I couldn't even leave the house without a snack before I had kids, so it is nice to have them as an excuse now... haha!
gosh I wish we could have our own classrooms in Australian High Schools, we move around all day, your room is so pretty and it will so inspire
Omg!!! I love your little guy!
for the tables in the middle behind the couch, to get outlets back there, you can buy long power strips and you duck tape the cord down to the floor to hide the cord but still have outlets💗😊
I just loved seeing all of your classroom spaces. I need to make the little "What Mrs. Moore is reading, listening to, etc." sign!
It is super easy to make - just type it, print it out, and put it in a cheap frame! Then you can write on the glass in expo marker! If things like this aren't super easy, I'll never keep up with them...
The Caffeinated Classroom love! Thanks for the diy. ☺️
I am diggin the hanging lamps you have!!! I wish that I could do just lamps and christmas lighs in my room. Sadly, I have only one window and it is just not enough natural light to help. So I am stuck.
You might be surprised at the amount of light 4-5 strings of lights put off - maybe do a test run? It really makes the room feel so nice!
already commented but I also want to say thank you so much for putting that safe space sticker thing on the small bulletin board! things like that mean so much to lgbtqa+ students like me :)
Your kiddos are always the cutest!!! 😍 Your classroom is looking awesome! When do u go back?
Thank you so much! They're my little helpers ;) (well, sort of... they're entertaining nonetheless...) We go back in exactly a month! You?
“Teacher/mom setting up your classroom...” the struggle is so real!
You should get the filters for the ceiling lights. I don’t remember what they are called but you put them on top of the lights on the ceiling and it helps filter the light and it helps prevent migraines.

Obsessed with your coffee obsession. Also ALLLL THE HEART EYES for your room 😍🙌🏼☕️
Wow you are so lucky to be able to use lamps. In my district we aren’t allowed to have them in classrooms, or any appliances for that matter.
I love this channel
Migraines started since having kids ....Oh no! Yes, getting happy meals is “the right thing to do”. Your classroom is coming together nicely. I like the board paper. Lovely
The command center!!!!! Yay
I wish schools in the uk were like this i find some classrooms really un inviting and really hard to learn in
random comment, sorry, but there’s a bootle of goo gone in my driver’s ed classroom and for the longest time I wondered what it was used for... thank you so much for the demonstration! I was too lazy to look it up and scared that it’d be a dumb question to ask someone
First time to see your channel, but I'm already in love! #newsubscriber
Have you tried the floor covers for cords that people use so you don’t trip? Often times tech people have them. I think you can find them on Amazon
Love yr room!!
Thank you!!!
You have some small black crates with books in them hanging on the wall near your desk area. How are they attached to the wall?
Those little guys are from Wal-Mart and I'm pretty sure I have them on the wall with push pins at the moment... I'll go back with really thin nails and hammer them in at an angle...

What's the best way to hang up the string lights?
What grade do you teach? I just found you while watching others teachers. I love this kinds of videos because I don’t feel alone in how excited is to fix your classroom in the beginning of the school year. I teach preschool
What do you have in your annotation kits?
Are you gonna be keeping this classroom for more than just this year ? I would hate for you to decorate all this and be assigned to a new room ..
Are you going to show how you hang your lights?
I will! Once I get everything all figured out and do a couple test runs, I'll do a whole lighting video with how-to's!
Hi! Your classroom is turning awesome! Question: What is the refrigerator board for? Why is it called this way? I've heard this a couple of times, but can't quite figure it out. There's nothing like that in France. Bon courage ! J'attends la prochaine vidéo avec impatience. :)-

Thanks, Melody! Yes, we do that in France too. We put drawings on the refrigerator door and student work on the walls, but we don't have this expression at all. :)
Instead of using scissors you could use a ruler I bet it would be a lot easier. Btw I love these videos
I love watching you on UA-cam you got a awesome
Thank you!!
Where i am from, Teachers did NOT put this much effort into class rooms. It actuality makes me a bit sad tbh.
Wait are you teaching high school or little kids?
I love your eyes
I try to decorate my room to look cozy and comfy but the students literally do whatever it takes to destroy anything I bring into the room. what grade do you teach
This year I'll have all 10th grade English...
The Caffeinated Classroom as a sophomore i would most definitely enjoy english with this classroom! it’s so homey!
I wanna be in your classroom omg😥
@ 5:52 i swear the light popped on , on its own😂 there’s a ghost
Not a huge fan of the book pages around the white board borders...I think they make the room look very cluttered. Everything else looks lovely, although I would reconsider the sofa because you never know what bugs kids transport with them to school.
The classroom looks awesome!! Check out my teacher tag 😊
*Fegos* Baaahahaha
If your teaching older kids. Why do you have aload of little kid toys...ie. Legos. And them felt car things
For when her kids are there, like after school, or during the summer when she is setting things up, so her kids have things to do
I’m cringing with the thought of having furniture like that in a classroom.... lice happens... big bugs happen.
