    Oh my word, thanks for sharing!!! I feel confident on this sour dough journey. I love the fact you mentioned the history and how our ancestors cooked without making it complicated… I’m Ready! 🙂🙃✌🏽🌻🫶🏽🍞

    I was inspired to try my hand at Sourdough because of your videos. I made my own starter and tried a couple recipes I found on the internet. They just weren't working. The dough would be flat instead of nice and round. I then tried your recipe and it worked beautifully! Thank you so much for this video!

    I'm so excited to try this! I also was *finally* able to grow my own tomatoes this summer, so I'm more than motivated to try to make my first sourdough bread for tomato toast! 🤤🤤 Can't wait. Thanks for this video, Blair!!

      Congratulations on your tomatoes--homegrown tomatoes are so delicious! And good luck on your sourdough!

    Great beginner video! Sourdough can seem so intimidating.
    All I care about is making a decent tasting loaf of bread for my family. I rarely follow the rules of sourdough. And you're right, our ancestors didn't have scales back then. I've even done loafs without stretch and folds. Still comes out good.
    One word of caution for anyone baking sourdough is to make sure big chunks of raw dough don't go down the drain in the sink. It hardens over time in to glue. I know someone that completely ruined their plumbing because of all the build-up.

    Such a great video! I can’t wait to start making some sourdough! Thank you for making this!! Question though! 🙋‍♀️ if you want your dough more “sour” tasting or like more a kick. What process would you need to extend to achieve a stronger flavor? Haven’t tried yet but I love a good strong tasting dough! ❤

    • @BlairLamb
      @BlairLamb  2 місяці тому

      You’ll want to let it ferment longer for a more sour flavor! You can let it ferment in your fridge for closer to 24 hours rather than 12!

    Thank you so much for making this video! You explained it so well and made it simple enough for me to finally understand I think! 😂
    What size Dutch oven do you have?

    Just went to a class and have an active starter ready to go! I use Wildgrain (because of you!) and am wondering if you have experimented with freezing parbaked loaves (like Wildgrain) vs cooking all the way through then freezing? Are the reheated ones just as good as the parbaked?

    • @BlairLamb
      @BlairLamb  Місяць тому +1

      I haven't tried frozen par-baked loaves but if you try, let me know how it goes! Could be a great way to get fresh bread a la Wildgrain!

    Thanks for the video! Can’t wait to make this! How do you store your discard in the fridge? With the bonnet or with the hard plastic lid of the mason jar?

    • @BlairLamb
      @BlairLamb  2 місяці тому +1

      I store it with the hard plastic lid in the fridge so it doesn't dry out!

    Question: Do I place bread in oven while the time is being adjusted or wait til official time?

    • @BlairLamb
      @BlairLamb  2 місяці тому

      It'll only be the difference of a few seconds, so either way is fine.

    Question: I am new to sourdough and have tried this recipe twice and both times I have a flat loaf. I noticed that after the 1st proof the dough initially looks good but as I am shaping it, it kinda starts to get scraggy so when I plop it on the bowl for cold fermentation it's lost its shape. Has this happened to you and any tips? I made sure my starter is floating and the dough seems really elastic and nice at the beginning. 😢 Thanks for the video!

    • @BlairLamb
      @BlairLamb  2 місяці тому +1

      It sounds like maybe your dough is over fermented. Could you try a shorter fermentation time? If you live in a warm/humid climate, that may be speeding the process along
