- Took a friend up for a flight...paired the flight down significantly. As always, had an awesome flight and without fail...the RV does not disappoint. This was her first flight in such a small of a plane.
Very nice 8!! Great flying experience for your passenger. Kudos to SP for his awareness and attention to his passenger's comfort level throughout the flight.
Awesome!
Really loved this video. Seems like everyone had a great time.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
You know you've achieved success when your passenger is only reaching for the selfie button...
I want an RV-8A, man.
The 8A looks good! I assume the 8 is a little better for grass strips.
Awesome video as always Sierra Papa where do you fly out of?
Thanks! Small airport east of Dallas.
Camera was smooth at first then wobbling at the end. Was that just the camera or the whole plane?
Just the camera. I have to figure a way to keep it from wobbling. My last video was ruined.
Sierra Papa I think when you buy the GoPro accessories they always seem to come with white squares of paper or rubber. I think you use those as shims to make the Mount more firm. I did that once on a helmet cam while skiing and it helped. By the way, awesome plane. I’m a PPL thinking about buying a vans and stuck on whether I want an RV-7 or 8. My typical mission is a 1 hour flight to Martha’s Vineyard to spend a day in town or at the beach. Can you fit beach chairs in your RV 8? Umbrella?
Ok I’ll have to try that out with my GoPro. You’re going to love the RV. While the RV 8 has plenty of room for baggage, it’s not good for large items. You have to have compact items. I don’t think a beach umbrella would fit. I have put a lawn chair back there for flyins though.
@@sierrapapa624 The wobbling is just the nature of how the gopro shutter works (rolling shutter). Any four cylinder aircraft engine will put off enough vibration to cause this. The Gopro 5 and higher have stabilization that gets rid of most of this, especially the 7's or higher. I had the same problem in my plane until I started using the ones with stabilization.
@@Chrisovideos That makes sense. Good to know that the newer GoPros have better rejection of those vibrations.
215 indicated? I hope that's in K's an hr !
Its actually mph.
that's nearly a 190 kts! That's near impossible to do straight & level without going max power & even then sounds sus!@@sierrapapa624
Hahaha...maybe I misread it...there is another throttle setting other then WOT?;-)
Knots per hour? 😄
@@cal7875 Being very picky here. Technically, no such thing. The term Knots is the measurement of nautical miles per hour. So the "per hour" after Knots is redundant.
