Hi maxGaming! I was about to try for long time playing with Maus, but I had my head an afwul feel that this lumbering machine is in todays META just too slow, so I wanted another opinion from a better player and there you go. Even you think the same so lets keep the Maus as a wallflower:)
I think the best part of your reviews is the look you give of the line up to the tier 10. Pretty rare and it does make a huge difference if you are deciding what to go for at least early on.
Grinding VK (tier 8) now. Yeah it's OP vs. Lower tier (except t29) but most of the matchups nowadays it plays are tier 10. And VK vs tier 10 is just a large target practice tank.
Tanks like STII have 325 frontal armor and they are not considered superheavy tanks.Imagine if Wargaming finally decides to show some love to these German giants and up their turret armor by 40.A Maus with 300 frontal armor would be pure joy
I say absolutely yes. Was tough for me to get Tiger (P) up to Elite status, but was worth it. Enjoy all of the tanks on that branch including Mauschen which I upgraded with free experience
Although the stock grind is soo painful with the tier 8 and 9, The Maus is definitely worth it.High dpm thick armour what else could you want from a Heavy tank? Great review Max.
I love it how you focused on tech tree tanks of lower tiers. I hate when someone says (for example) "Oh 60tp is AWESOME" but to get to it you have to go trough couple of shitty tanks (does not apply to 60tp line)
2024! PzKpfwVII and VK45.02A got buffed meanwhile and now this line has the issue of the tier9 being the weakspot. PanzerVII and VK45.02A can be considered as being some of the better TechTree tanks. still the E100-Line at tier5 split gives the advantage of the access to medium lines too
This is the first time I have watched a video on your channel and hats off, its the most honest tank review I have ever seen, even better than Quickybaby perhaps.
I'm currently on VK 100.01 P and I kinda like it (as long as I don't have to drive too far). Not sure if I will continue with the line though. Maybe sometime in the future...
the maus was the first line I researched because back then I didn't know what makes a tank good lol. back then you'd have to play the two vk4502s. the vkb is atrocious but the vka was actually a beast and my favourite tank for a long while. the mobility plus the often underestimated armour made it capable of trolling the medium tanks. its not much of a brawler. good fun, maybe take it out some time :)

Maybe even as a different version of the grind where you play each tier in a line for 1 game Btw your more in depth content are the only ones for wot that I can enjoyably watch through as a newer player, thanks for ur work
The key to playing the maus is keeping the gun firing. Don’t be afraid to take some damage when someone overpeaks you. Enemies panic and rush their shots thats a free 15000 damage blocked.
For anyone watching this wondering if they should go down the line there is a buff in the works for the Tiger (P) that is currently on the 1.20 test server if that tank is the tank scaring you from going down :D
Tiger P, try it with short 88mm and load the gold when you need to. It has t8 medium levels of dpm and nice gun handling. Fun facts about the series. Tiger P can be penned in frontal hull cheeks by KV-2 with HE. Mauschen could be (in the past, not sure now) set on fire by HE spamming on the lower part of the turret cheeks and sending the splash on the lower engine deck. :)
The maus is not good but it is so. Mutch. FUN. I make it work by blatantly overangeling my armor and making 2-5 tanks waste their gold rounds on me every time i wiggle. I only shoot when they stop shooting me to distract then again. It breaks their mental completely. If you hate gold ammo, play the maus!! It does need a bond turbo tough
In WOT, you either have magic Soviet armor that makes enemy shells disappear, or you don't have any. Don't be fooled. If you are playing T8 or higher, unless your armor can bounce 340mm HEAT shells, you don't have any armor.
just sayin, a paltoon of me and a friend with Tiger-Maus tanks Vs. a platoon of 3 enemy Maus tanks, we both (me and friend) had half HP by the end of it.
I believe the problem here is as that they either need buff the armor or nerf the premium rounds penetration. And considering WoT makes majority of their money from premium rounds I highly doubt they will nerf it and if they buff the armor tier 8 and 9's will never penetrate because the game features the stupid cross 2 tier level system :/
Played well, the maus IS an absolute gem with an unique playstyle. Lots of fun on it, you just need to be patient and know what to do and where to go. Map awareness is a must, combine with a good combat style and knowing when to trade. Turbo (prime if possible), hardening and purple vents, with the field upgrades makes this tank reliable. Know when you can show your turret and don't be in a hurry of damage. I third mark this beauty and been the top 3 in maus in the EU server for a while, used to be a true heavy player.
PS: did the same with type 5 but less reliable... Cauz the type 5 as always a weakspot possible to pen even if well placed and gun is less stabilized, hit less...
I think E75 used to do 490, and the Tiger II used to do 320 (now 360). The E100 line was buffed not too long ago, raising the damage of the Tiger II and the E75 and adding a little armor to the front face of the E100. Since it was an E100 line buff, the Maus line wasn't touched and still has the 490 dmg gun.
@@MaxGamingFPS You are 100% right. However, the reason i don't use it is because i need to pull both a decent map and a decent MM (t6 vs my t8). Otoh, with Maus, all i need to find a decent map where i can play like a muppet while going in the open. :) That is why VK sits unused, while Maus has a crew. :)
Quick question, out of curiosity: I don't really feel a need to get the Maus since I just got the E 100, and am wondering if you'd recommend a similar field mod setup since both are still similar in size and (albiet less so) handling.

Udes medium tank lane , all lane is very strong tier6 and tier8 and tier10, with tier9-10 start having good armour. VZ55 lane, tier 7 good tier 8 crap-ok but tier9 tier10 very good. French light tank lane. All the tanks are good, flexible autoloaders with tons of damage. Russian TD line, easy to play Russian artillery line, slow to start but tier 8-9-10 are the best in game.
I have never owned it, never played it and will most likely never grind that line in general as it is one of the least attractive lines in the game nowadays. I wouldn't mind having the Maus in the garage for fun and giggles, but i don't feel like it would be worth the grind when everything around you is so much faster and interesting.
Hot take, all tanks should be insanely OP, so much so, that if you get caught playing like a complete idiot youre punished to the absolute max. This way people are FORCED to play smart, they are FORCED to learn from their mistakes. Theres no reason i should reach tier 10 lobbies and still encounter people that play like its their first game ever
Man i think you must use skill Turn the turret's face to escape a little more. It is thick on both sides to 340, which is enough to withstand golden bullets. From my Asian experience, you can burn the other side of money like crazy and hot headed.😊 is just bad day😅

nothing is "Worth" grinding... not since gold ammo is used in 99% of Tier 10 games and like 80% of the time for lower tiers just play what you like dude's !!! i remember way back when i unlocked my IS7.. it was godlike hull down but now .. just load the skill and boom..

E-75 atm, and up to the E-100 for me and I never go grind for this pillbox. I saw people in wheelchairs overtaking this one , downtown Himmelsdorf…😭

the daily missions with free vehicle fragments will unlock every tank in the game for me without grinding anything. So ... no problem 🤗

It can either W+Lmb or Alt-F4 with the MAUS sometimes, but gotta be honest, that tank looks fun to play with. 🍻
The VK 100.01P is the best tank in the line, imo.

on the last game you need to angle more your turret cause of the armour you can angle it more than other tanks

The Maus is the definition of a heavy tank... It's not that the Maus is too slow, it's that all the other heavy tanks like the vz 55 are too fast...
I love how the Mous gameplay is just W and A/D sometimes

Last time i had to do one, i took it on center lane on Lakeville, and got 23 or 27k blocked, i can't remember. :)
The tier 8 is probably the best tank in the game for blocking missions since, if you meet tier 6s it's impossible to pen.

What is the best first tank to grind to?
