This is one song I wanted you to hear the most, and now you have! One of the best songs I've ever heard in my life. Edguy and Tobias Sammet at their absolute peak, and as a huge Iron Maiden-fan, it caught my attention back in 2004 - as did the whole Hellfire Club album. Edguy has lots of hype in the 2000s, and should've taken off in a bigger scale than they did, sadly. "The Piper Never Dies" is just one of those special songs that I never tire off. It has so much emotion and energy and up til now, at age 23, it still resonates with me. I won't come with more suggestions, as I feel like I've gotten everything I could ever ask for in this reaction. Im just gonna enjoy the ride along with you from now on. Thank you so much for this reaction Sistah :)
Michael!! Hi, my looove!! ^_^/// I thank you ssooo very much for this beautiful song, baby! It makes me so happy! I listen to this song now, over and over, lol! And Wolf says he can't get the chorus out of his head xDD I am so happy that he likes this song, because I think it is so wonderful! He is not into Power Metal, as I am; Iron Maiden, is the only exception, for him. Although, they are considered "New Wave of British Metal," they are still PM, right? I'm so glad you enjoyed the reaction! That makes me so happy, but more importantly... I am so glad I was not disappointed; although, I did not doubt it ;) (((hugs))) ♥
@@HalfLifeSistah Haha, I always imagined that Edguy could turn Wolf around when it came to power metal, as they have so much Maiden in them. In general I don't think Iron Maiden are power metal. They came before in the British new wave and are usually classified as Heavy Metal. But power metal is a subgenre to heavy metal, so it's all interconnected 😅 Maiden have many similarities to the power-genre, as they inspired the world's first power metal band, Helloween, in 1985 and then Edguy afterwards in the 90s. Following your channel from the beginning, and watching your reaction to both Iron Maiden & King Diamond, I pretty much new you would love this song, as I had the same journey, by discovering those legends, and then getting straight into Edguy. There is a huge catalogue of Edguy for you in the future as well. The album "Mandrake" from 2001, and of course "Hellfire Club" itself, which is their crowning piece. And btw, there is a great live versions of Piper also. From their biggest concert ever, 10.000 people in Sao Paolo: ua-cam.com/video/QiRROGZYUQU/v-deo.html Looking forward to seeing more of you and Wolf as well 😁
The Scarecrow by Avantasia has to be next! The live video from The Flying Opera tour at Wacken in 2012 with Jorn Lande is one of the best performances of all time, you need it in your life!!
Hi I've never watched your reactions before, but I saw this in my suggestions and had to click. The Piper Never Dies! Ah, I love this song so much. I haven't listened to it in a few months (been on an Avantasia binge preparing for their concert - Avantasia is the "side project" of Edguy's vocalist) and I got tears in my eyes hearing the first few seconds. And you have an awesome reaction! You clearly loved it. Tobias Sammet (vocalist/songwriter) is SUCH an amazing songwriter. Seriously after listening to the entire Edguy/Avantasia discographies I feel spoiled for lyrics, but happily spoiled. And there's so many songs (10 full Edguy albums and 8 full Avantasia albums, plus numerous EPs and demos) there's always something I haven't listened to in a while. I'm sure you noticed there was a couple years between the founding of Edguy and their first albums. Since they started so young, at first they only performed covers of ACDC, Kiss, Iron Maiden, etc to small groups of family and neighbors. And speaking as a huge fan who's actually listened to the early demos (it's somewhere here on youtube), the early demos are pretty bad. Totally forgivable since Tobi must've only been 15-16 when he wrote and sung them (and tbh they're kinda precious in a way). But he never stopped writing music and has managed to write 18 albums plus EPs and live tour DVDs in just 24 years.... He's an inspiration to many. I'd love to see you react to more Edguy (or Avantasia) videos! You can't go wrong with them and they deserve more attention, especially in the US. Sorry, I always write so much when it comes to Edguy or Avantasia reactions, especially when the reactor is new to either band. :)
Edguy is a solid band, alot of very good story telling, alot of very catchy riffs and incredible vocals. You made a good choice, this is definitely one of the songs I'd use to introduce this band to others, even use the entire Hellfire Club album as an intro to the band. Glad you enjoyed it, keep up the amazing reactions and peace be with you on your travels in this Metal Journey of yours.
If you really like this, you have to heard the most Tobias Sammet's ambitius project, AVANTASIA, you just can't count how many metal awesome singers participate on their albums, every album better than the other! Just Toby and Michael Jackson can do something like that! :-P
OMG...I cannot stop listening to this song now! I'd never heard it (or anything by Edguy) before now. I'd definitely consider checking out The Scarecrow, Sign of the Cross, and The Tower by Avantasia, the other band headed by Tobais Sammet. Thanks for reacting to this, I never would've heard this song otherwise~! ^^ \m/
Hail, Sistah :))) your new idea of a "solo" format is actually very cool, as it gives you a free hand to explore and branch out on your Metal journey when you feel the urge, but your ingenious and knowledgeable WolfKain is not at hand to guide! The "roulette" can sure spit out some surprising suggestions, but the more beauty in it - at least you will rest assured the music you're hearing means a whole lot to some human being. :)) I will sure follow with gladness, was kinda missing more of your appearances, truth be told! EDGUY are real free spirits of German metal, cycling through Power and Heavy, and, later on, tongue-in-cheek Hard rock as they go, but always remaining likeable, goofy, and excellent composers! Tobias Sammet, with his main band, but especially the "Metal Opera" project AVANTASIA, incorporating dozens of best-known Metal musicians of the present day, has shown he got the formula for Metal hit songs just right. :) You might want to check out an AVANTASIA epic called "The Seven Angels" for a similar feel like "The Piper", but featuring the Who's Who of Power metal singers! Then - you can discover their own bands (if you have not thus far), it's the beauty of these grand projects. :)) And yea, Tobias has been favorably compared to Bruce Dickinson, the Air Raid Siren himself, which would have made it hard for you couple of MAIDEN fans not to like this! Thanks for this brilliant reaction, more so - for a song (and band) that is so far overlooked by channels! \m/ ;)))
I always love your reactions Avantasia - The Scarecrow live at Wacken has to be next. It's a Projekt of Tobias Sammet. I think yo'l like it. Greetings from germany
We´ve got several german Power Metal bands, which you probably would enjoy very much, Edguy being one of them. Tobias is a musician genius, but there are people who hate his voice and behaviour (he´s talking very much at gigs and often pulls more or less funny jokes) and often these people hate the music because they don´t like the guy, which is kinda stupid. But he´s a trooper, a few years back he fell off the stage at a festival, broke his nose, got treated backstage and after that went back on stage and completed the concert. And Tobias is a Hessian like me, although from a different region, so I have to support the band (unless it is terrible stuff). :D His side project Avantasia is also very superb, a real supergroup with many guest stars, who are his own heros. They just released a new album and started a tour (or shortly will start), I´ve still got to get my hands on it and sadly I´ll miss the concerts (3 hour gigs). But I´ve seen them a couple times, they are amazing live performers, all veterans of several decades. The Avantasia albums are concept albums, always 2 or 3 CDs for one cycle. The first two are really the named Metal Opera, the newer albums are power metal and also hard rock. And many long songs, these are often running 7,8 or 15 minutes. :D Avantasia - The Scarecrow and Lucifer (with Jorn Lande), Master of the Pedulum (with Marco from Nightwish) are great. And for the more epic side: Avantasia - Stargazers, Sign of the Cross, The Seven Angels, The Wicked Symphony, Let the Storm Descend Upon You. Tobias has written a whole story for the Metal Opera, which is in the booklet and all songs have lines that are sung by a character of the story, it´s all belonging together. You should also check out further stuff from Helloween (old and new songs), Gamma Ray and Blind Guardian, their members also did work for Avantasia (big german power metal family). One of my alltime favourites is the "Nightfall in Middle-Earth"-LP by Blind Guardian, songs and spoken scenes from Tolkiens Silmarillion. Blind Guardian have worked stuff from Tolkien or Herbert (Dune) into several songs an many albums. For goosebumps - live versions of "The Bard´s Song (In the Forest)" and "Valhalla". If you like unusual stuff there are also the german metal a capella band Van Canto and the finnish band Apocalyptica (Cello metal?). Both bands have their own songs, but they also did cover metal songs like Metallica "Master of Puppets". And last but not least two recommendations from Finnland: Ensiferum (Viking Metal, well Power Folk Metal with mostly rough vocals) and Sonata Arctica (Power Metal, but they also have progressive elements). Oh my, sorry for the long novel. But I really like your videos and reactions to the music.
All their music is great. This album (Hellfire Club) was their biggest in my opinion. Their Magnum Opus. But all their stuff is soaked with tallent. Even their teen albums. Check out Jester Of The Night, Evil Minded, I Hate You To and Children Of Steel for their earliest stuff. More punk rock but with the soul of power metal. I can recomend you to check out their album Theater Of Salvation. Every song on there is pure gold. The title track.... Oh my god! haha Have fun, girl
You HAVE to check out this performance!!!! It’s all kids and the lead singer is an 11 year old girl singing metal!!!! Type in Dream Theatre Pull me under cover. Awesome to see such young people with such talent.
Great reaction of a great song, this is their masterpiece in my opinion, the whole bands was at their peak. Tobias is brilliant ! Great lyrics and amazing voice, besides his other band Avantasia of course, that's just fantastic
Hey HalfLifeSistah, Like others have told you, the singer and driving force behind Edguy is Tobias Sammet, who had a side project called Avantasia. One of their songs, The Scarecrow, has been recommended by many, particularly their live performance of the song at the Wacken festival in 2012 where he shares the singing with awesome power metal singer Jorn Lande. On another note, since you said you're more of a prog metal girl, I strongly encourage you to continue with your foray into Dream Theater, which you began with Wolf by reacting to Hell's Kitchen/Lines In the Sand. A great starting point is "The Count of Tuscany", or the live version (with orchestra and choir included) of "Illumination Theory" from the Boston Opera House. You won't regret it!!
Tobias Sammet=Avantasia. That is a magnificent concept similar to Ayreon. One person makes all the music, texts etc. and then hires other very well known (metal and rock) musicians, singers in for playing or singing for the concept or metal opera album. I can recommend Avantasia and Ayreon to you. And now I have to learn about Edguy because I like this very much.
Edguy released a couple of masterpieces back in the day. If you like Avantasia, Edguy is right up your ally. The albums Hellfire Club, Mandrake, Theater of Salvation, Vain Glory Opera & Savage Poetry are on par with The Metal Operas ;)
Good on you to think about doing some solo videos in order to get through more stuff. Also, using the roulette method of choosing a song is a great idea that I have been wanting other reactions channels to use, and it baffles me that none of them have ever thought to do it that way.
Deep purple - Child in time Gamma ray - Eagle Axxis - Take my hand Russel Allen & Jorn Lande - The battle Sonata arctica - The gun Dream evil - Mirror one of theese for start ^_^
Suggestion for this singer/composer: find "The Scarecrow" by Avantasia. It showcases Tobias and Jorn Lande, another major singer. It's in the same vibe and it's epic as hell! Love your reaction to this!!
I know you have said you love stringed instruments. If you are open to a different genre you should give Stevie Ray Vaugh a listen. He defined Texas blues. He also did some incredible covers of a couple of Jimi Hendrix songs. I highly recommend Tin Pan Alley, Voodoo Child, Texas Flood, Little Wing. You won't be disappointed. Check out his live concert videos to fully appreciate what he did.
Love it Sistah! A way to get a little more content a little more often is great on top of giving a random chance of a reaction to comments. I'd better put a request in here in case it gets picked ;) As you get more into the grunge like Alice in chains and I know you have Pearl Jam coming up, at some stage you must try Smashing Pumpkins - Mayonaise. Much love as always.
Hi, baby! (((hugs))) Thank you so much! Yeah, I'm trying to give more content, more frequently with easier edits! ^_^ Smashing Pumpkins - Mayonaise ✔️ Much love to you, too, sugah! You are so wonderful! Mmmwwwwaaaahhh!!! :-** ♥
Omg I’ve just been listening the hell out of Ayreon’s The Source and the vocals had me back there. Never heard any Edguy before but I might hunt them up for more of a listen. And nice reaction! Grats on your solo run 😀
HalfLifeSistah no worries! I enjoy your channel so a chance to see a bit more of it is only a good thing. I’m just getting back into metal after a lifetime away from it so I love hearing ‘new’ stuff. This song completely rocks! I was busy with other music at the time it came out but better late than never. Thanks for reacting to it.
It's great that you wanna give Edguy a chance. They are like Iron Maiden's grandchild I's say. I definitely recommend their albums Mandrake, Hellfire Club & Theater of Salvation :)
Michael Holmgaard if I’d been exposed to it when it was released I would have been all over Edguy but I missed it. The music is pretty good and Tobias has a good distinctive voice. Thanks for the suggestions, I’ll definitely give these a listen.
I wanted to recommend 4 songs to chose from for a reaction video (if you like it enough) or to just check out to see if ya like. 1.Punjabi Remake of Titanic Dance Song - Drowsy Maggie by TheSnakeChamrer 2.Shipping Up To Boston/Enter Sandman - Bagpipe Cover (Goddesses of Bagpipe x The Snake Charmer) since ya liked bloodywood 3. Mushroomhead - We Are the Truth 4. Tech N9ne - Worldwide Choppers ( Busta Rhymes, Yelawolf, Twista..). i know its a few but honestly i like them all and as it covers everything from something different to metal to really good rap that takes me back to the good old days or singers like Tupac, Busta Rhymes, Ice T and others before the age of mumble rap.... so yeah have a good day and Rock on.
Possibly a recommendation to be saved for the no cry challenge: 'Lie of survival' by Pallbearer off their 2017 release 'Heartless' (a solid record overall by the way); doom metal out of Little Rock, AR. Quite different but possibly a case for the challenge as well would be 'And plague flowers the kaleidoscope' by Aussie band Ne Obliviscaris, most often labeled as progressive metal, off their debut album 'Portal of I' released in 2012. This song in particular makes effective use in creating a wall of sound (sound familiar?). I am somewhat surprised to be honest that I haven't seen it on your channel yet because a few other channels have made reaction videos to some of their songs (particularly this one), that is, I have either missed it or it has indeed not been pushed up to you yet.
Joshua! YOU are the SWEET one! I appreciate you, too, baby. You make my heart smile, every time.😢🤗 Thank you for being a light and extending your love and support to us😙😙😙💜✊🏾🤘🏾
Great reaction to a fantastic song. But there is also a different side of the band, with "funny" songs like, Lavatory Love Machine, Superheroes or Trinidad.
if you really want a good cry get your headphones on and listen to this on your own time ( ua-cam.com/video/_lH9JZX6oY0/v-deo.html) by Edguy the video with it makes you think of love and miracles.💚 ps thanks for playing this band i would not have found their music.
I feel that i know what kind of metal you like now, i PROMISE u Unleash the archer👌🏽 Female vocalist with a perfect voice and technic. The feeling in this song is perfect, trust me!
Please please please react to JINJER Captain Clock live at resurrection fest!!!! I promise you will not be disappointed!!!!!! You and The Wolf ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a brilliant song by Edguy, hope you are well and having a lovely day. If you get a chance check out Helloween Sole Survivor: ua-cam.com/video/cUrTH8XQXZI/v-deo.html . Thanks for sharing, have a great weekend.
I wonder if you would be comfortable to react to a non English band.... I'll suggest anyways :) this is a Portuguese band Allamedah and the song is Algema
Have a little react to this at some point, it's the most beautiful vocal performance I've ever heard. Dimash Kudaibergenov - S O S d'un terrien en détresse watch?v=5aQxGQFNtN8
If she ever dare to react to this alien singer we will loose her for long time... She'll need many days to come back after the shock (good one)... THE BEST SINGER this time on earth for my opinion.

This right here!!
Or "Farewell"
The Scarecrow, by Avantasia (Tobias Sammet's side project). Studio version!
I think Wacken ft Jorn is better version.
The last Sunday I go to the concert in México city
Welcome to Edguy!
I especially love "Tears of a Mandrake" and "The Pharaoh", so obviously I highly recommend those Edguy songs.

Yea i say scarecrow or runaway train
Ironically that's also Tobias Sammet
Edguy - save me
Edguy - nailed to the wheel

Sonata arctica - The gun
Dream evil - Mirror
one of theese for start ^_^
Nice to see you flying solo, but i kinda miss your hubby and the Chemistry you two got going.
You did great on your own tho, nice song to.
I love this new section! I like to recommend Iced Earth - Dante's Inferno
Love Edguy! Should listen to Sonata Arctica- Kingdom For a Heart.
Dee-hee-ecent
If you like Edguy you will love Avantasia Tobias Sammeth's baby.
Watched video twice. Second time @ 2× speed which is awesomeness at its peak!
Daniel Cavanagh- The Exorcist (from Monochrome)
The Clown is Dead - Axel Rudi Pell
Love it Sistah! A way to get a little more content a little more often is great on top of giving a random chance of a reaction to comments.
I'd better put a request in here in case it gets picked ;)
As you get more into the grunge like Alice in chains and I know you have Pearl Jam coming up, at some stage you must try Smashing Pumpkins - Mayonaise.
Much love as always.
Hi, baby! (((hugs))) Thank you so much! Yeah, I'm trying to give more content, more frequently with easier edits! ^_^
Smashing Pumpkins - Mayonaise ✔️
Much love to you, too, sugah!
Awe, thank you so much! 😃🤗
I'm glad you liked the song! It's phenomenal and I can't seem to stop listening to it, whenever I get the chance! 😙💜
Awesome song,... 👍
What a great reaction.. greetings from good old Germany

I bet she will!
Sentences are from Finland
So, the next step is to go listen to Avantasia Sistah:-)
This is a brilliant song by Edguy, hope you are well and having a lovely day. If you get a chance check out Helloween Sole Survivor: ua-cam.com/video/cUrTH8XQXZI/v-deo.html . Thanks for sharing, have a great weekend.
I wonder if you would be comfortable to react to a non English band.... I'll suggest anyways :) this is a Portuguese band Allamedah and the song is Algema
Have a little react to this at some point, it's the most beautiful vocal performance I've ever heard.
Dimash Kudaibergenov - S O S d'un terrien en détresse
watch?v=5aQxGQFNtN8
If she ever dare to react to this alien singer we will loose her for long time... She'll need many days to come back after the shock (good one)...
THE BEST SINGER this time on earth for my opinion.
