+BMWMED1 crackle is cold air standing wave turbulence, bad for exhaust valves. Can crack on the edges or disintegrate the exhaust valves over time. Sucks to burn a valve on a 50000 dollar motor. Resonator is extremely important for high flow exhaust on street vehicle. On a race vehicle not important. Only a high level factory engineer would know this.
My advise, leave it alone. BMW parts are higher quality than anything made in the aftermarket. Your car will start falling apart, before you know it you will have so many things wrong with the X6 it won't be worth keeping.

I just bought a 2010 X6M ...... I want it sounding loud and add some HP to it. What should I do?
