Das Lied habe ich als Kind immer meiner Stiefgroßmutter vorgesungen.(Die hieß auch Klara)....lang ist es her.Doch ich erinnere mich als ob es gestern gewesen wär......
Genia Dear ! Are you prepaired for my promised train trip to Constantinopel with the Orient Express ?? If so, pack your beautiful Louis Vutton suitecases ! But please, hurry my Angel, the train is waiting, and otherwise the Kir Royale looses their bubbles !!
@parlophonman Well, thank you my dear, you are most kind. No place better than Constantinopel to parade my new dress with the glass pearls and ostrich feathers. stan-tini-pol, = stani-bol
Funny that you like the German version better than the English one. The singer Austin Egen, was born in Milwaukee and educated at Dartemouth. Later on he moved to Berlin and became famous as an composer and "Schlager"-singer. He died in 1941 at the age of only 44...
I like this even better than the English versions I've known up to now. Great voice, and the lyrics seem to fit the music better than in English (until the end where he stretches "du bist........wunderschoen.")
